    Nice to see what I’m paying my suspension guy to do! Great video and wish I wasn’t so afraid to try it myself

      Thanks! He probably does it better 😆The worst part is getting all the tools lined up, after that it's just commitment and research.
      it's a nice skill to have, even for just changing the oil, seals and bushings.

      Don't wait to long buddy or you might end up with serious problems, there are non friction bands that slide up and down on the inside of the tube and with out proper lube...haha lube.... it will wear down the aluminum, introducing aluminum shavings or dust into system also causing your fork tube to weaken over time. Whens the last time you serviced them?

    Nicely presented and good tips.
    Would you confirm the Race Tech part #? I've been on the R.T. site, but there's no picture to ensure the base valves are adjustable. Description is vague.

      Hey sorry just seeing this, hope this helps, it is quite vague on their site.

      @@ENDUROEVOLUTION Cool, thanks. Again, great tutorial. Pretty sure yours is the only video installing this setup.
      Are you happy with their suggested shim stack?
      Currently healing from an ankle injury, so lots of time to sort things out. Finally ordered springs for my weight. Gold valves next.

      @timsilva1944 hey thanks again Tim, I figured I'd post them because, like you say, there isn't much video info on them. I'm really glad you and others are getting some value out of it ✊️
      I am pretty happy with the whole setup, I like the fact that I can change it and try different things out, I recommend a good inch pound torque wrench right off the bat. Definitely have everything you need before you get tearing into it haha it wasn't that bad but if your a over thinker it can get hectic 😂 id also recommend making your own video and pics on the tear down process for reassembly reasons. Could be a life saver
      I like the fact that compression and rebound are separate, I have it sprung for my weight as well, for the price I'd definitely do it again, for my skill level ( im no Billy bolt by any means😂) I'm happy with it.
      Good luck with your ankle too, hope it dosen't bother you to badly in the future.
      Let me know how your gold valve project turns out and what you think
      🍻

      Sweet. I've used their kits on 2 other, older bikes, so I have some experience and plenty of tools. It would be nice if they included stickers for the top cap to indicate rebound on both sides and to indicate the reverse clicker adjustment like on other brands kits I've seen. If I understand that correctly. Will review your install again. 🍻

      Hell yeah I never thought about that but those stickers would definitely be handy, the reverse clicker is weird lol

    Thanks for doing this video. Did you end up using racetech springs too? I want to install this kit on my 18xcw. I see a discrepancy between what they recommend for spring rates versus other charts.

      @ENDUROEVOLUTION  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for checking it out 👊 no i didn't use their specific springs but i did buy springs for my weight, everything seems to be ok..its a noticeable difference tho between stock and the race tech kit.

    Hey great video. I’ve been looking for a good how to video for replacing the mid valve / check valve. Have you ever heard of the Gobbler base valve and mid valve from suspension 101?

    • @ENDUROEVOLUTION
      @ENDUROEVOLUTION  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! I'm glad it helped, no i haven't heard of it but ill check it out 🤙pretty good?

    • @j-moto1215
      @j-moto1215 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I can’t find much info on them but the owner is telling me they will outperform much of the aftermarket options. Stoked to give them a try.

    • @ENDUROEVOLUTION
      @ENDUROEVOLUTION  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmm I'll see what I can find on them, I dont know what would be much different, the piston could be a bit different but I think main thing are the shims and thicknesses.. im no expert tho so I couldn't say forsure haha suspension is definitely its own thing

    • @j-moto1215
      @j-moto1215 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ENDUROEVOLUTION I’m going to go for it and I’ll make a video about it. Will share my findings. It’s the only base valve on the market that offers high and low speed comp damping I’m told.

  • @bruce_muzik
    @bruce_muzik ปีที่แล้ว

    Thanks for this great video! One thing I'm struggling to understand is how the old compression adjuster works in the reverse direction for rebound now. It's the same adjuster, right? Or is it that the midvale of response somehow in the opposite direction?

    • @ENDUROEVOLUTION
      @ENDUROEVOLUTION  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Bruce!, sorry for the late reply.
      the Compression Adjuster on the fork cap (which is now rebound) has reversed threads. This means zero (maximum rebound damping) is fully counterclockwise on this leg only.
      I hope that helps and if not I can definitely make a quick video. Let me know!
      Thanks for the kind words!

    • @bruce_muzik
      @bruce_muzik ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ENDUROEVOLUTION Thank you for explaining. So, if I understand correctly the stock Compression Adjuster always had reverse threads? Or does the kit include a new Compression (now rebound) Adjuster for the LHS?

    • @ENDUROEVOLUTION
      @ENDUROEVOLUTION  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@bruce_muzik on the stock xplore forks both adjusters turn clockwise (rebound and compression)
      When you add this gold valve kit it gives both forks rebound and compression instead of one fork is rebound and the other controls compression. So the left fork now has (compression) on the bottom of the fork tube and a rebound on top just like the right side, but the difference is the left fork adjuster on top turns counter clockwise to gain stiffness. So if you turn that left adjuster clockwise all the way it will be fully open, then turn counter clockwise to your desired settings.

    • @ENDUROEVOLUTION
      @ENDUROEVOLUTION  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@bruce_muzik the compression adjusters on the bottom are both clockwise to stiffen the compression, so just that one knob up top on the left is backwards.

    • @bruce_muzik
      @bruce_muzik ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ENDUROEVOLUTION thank you. What I'm trying to understand is if the left fork cap is replaced with a Racetech one, or if it remains stock, bur just functions in reverse because of the new fork internals...
