I’ve been in a really bad art rut recently, but when they said “draw something fun today” I was like “YOU KNOW WHAT, I WILL” and then just busted out 8 mini portraits of my characters that I’ve been trying to get myself to finish for the last two weeks, and I just- thank you guys, this show never fails to help me art ;v;

Something I started noticing with the Gartic Phone streams is Nathan really thrives with limited tools. His drawings always come out really readable and appealing.
Nathan's art style is so good at readability, and especially in some of his best he's working with limited tools and limited compisitions and making theme readable, and that's rad as hell.

Karina's drawing feels like it could be on a tarot card! Potentially the 7 or 8 of words (would need to add a couple swords), which fits with the sort corruption arc energy as well. Very cool!
Here's a thought for jacobs character, what if in the light affects how he looks like and in light he looks like orc but whenever his body is in shade ot reveals his demon parts
I genuinely love how supportive they all are of each other, enthusiastically pointing out things they like in the others' drawings and complimenting them. You can really tell they're all passionate about art and really respect one another
like its actually jarring how antagonistic karina and jacob are to each other on episodes and the streams and whatnot and then the speed draw episodes come and they are the biggest fans of each others art 😭😭😭

Everyone really brought it to the table for this one. I feel like Nathan just went super Saiyan mode. It would be so cool to see a graphic novel with these huge line less landscapes that Nathan does sometimes. So freaking graceful.

Every Karina pose is like a bombshell in my brain. It's a trip because the poses are so unnatural but she makes it look like this is just how people look when they're lounging. I absolutely adored every one of Nathan's big thumbnail drawings. I don't know if it's just a really good palette but he did great. I suck with colors.
From mechanics, Jacobs was a fascinating project, as far as design, Karina was the most striking, Julia brought about an almost photo realistic style, and Nathan started is off so strong with a landscape with wonderful scope. All of this in an episode that fits in my lunchtime. Wonderful, simply wonderful
Julia's illustrations led me to this idea: Create tattoos. You can sketch as much as you want, but when it comes to final inking, you only get one shot. You can't erase final inking or coloring.
I love that Julia was the one to draw the cute little bird. And Nathan's really killing it the last few episodes. Love all of them, yeah for more open-ended challenges

I'm with Karina; the vague/loose challenges with no prompt give them the space to really make great shit and just kinda vibe on a piece. It's always so nice to see, and it's a genre of Drawfee video I revisit often.
I find its when they're the most honest about their experiences as youtubers, about multitasking as entertainers while drawing, etc. I still remember Karina & Jacob discussing her initial anxiety about having to be funny when she joined, and then gradually easing into it. It's a real authenticity I appreciate, being wary of other 'influencers' who fake everything for the camera
@@37thraven yessssss. obviously a lot of the appeal is the goofs and the final renders, but I stick with Drawfee because I like watching the process. and not just mechanical stuff; the crew shows how social support via constructive feedback is a part of that process--they model how to workshop one's art, and even how to just be a friend to someone struggling with a project so badly that it shakes their self-esteem. and even beyond that, like how you mention the meta process of not just making art, but doing the show about their art. I don't like throwing the word "authentic" around about media because at the end of the day we can't objectively gauge that, but their willingness to pull back the curtain that virtually everyone else leaves hanging is just such a mark of integrity, and it blends so well with all the talent on display. nevermind the fact that they're all amazing at what they do, I'm just impressed that they're able to be emotionally vulnerable on camera.

This may sound strange, but I’ve gone from mild insomnia to moderate and I’ve… recently been listening to y’all’s videos to help me fall asleep. I’m currently able to with just one video now, which I’m sorta proud of, but anyway, I just wanted to thank you guys. You’re voices are calming and you always sound like you’re having fun. It’s a very stabilizing environment for my brain, so… again, strange thanks. It is also entertaining to see the results after I wake up. 😊
I’d love to see you guys do the “surprise color” challenge. You roll for 4 random colors, a dark tone, 2 mids, and a light tone. Make a palette on the canvas, then throw a hue layer with a white fill and color pick from your palette to paint. Then you turn off the hue layer at the end and see what you ended up with!

Please do this again! This was so much fun. I’ve done something similar in the past where me and a friend swapped random color palettes with each other. We ended up completing the first drawing really fast so we swap platted back and end up with four epic completely different drawings that we never would of thought of doing.

Everyone really brought it to the table for this one. I feel like Nathan just went super Saiyan mode. It would be so cool to see a graphic novel with these huge line less landscapes that Nathan does sometimes. So freaking graceful.

Every Karina pose is like a bombshell in my brain. It's a trip because the poses are so unnatural but she makes it look like this is just how people look when they're lounging. It's such casually perfect anatomical drawing.

My favorite part of these pre-draws is the gang saying "oh I love how you do this thing" and the artist is all "oh actually I will be erasing all that and starting from scratch in a few seconds, but thanks!"

I absolutely adored every one of Nathan's big thumbnail drawings. I don't know if it's just a really good palette but he did great. I suck with colors.
From mechanics, Jacobs was a fascinating project, as far as design, Karina was the most striking, Julia brought about an almost photo realistic style, and Nathan started is off so strong with a landscape with wonderful scope. All of this in an episode that fits in my lunchtime. Wonderful, simply wonderful
Julia's illustrations led me to this idea: Create tattoos. You can sketch as much as you want, but when it comes to final inking, you only get one shot. You can't erase final inking or coloring.

This episode was great because there was no set rules for anyone so every drawfee member just slapped so hard
I'm with Karina; the vague/loose challenges with no prompt give them the space to really make great shit and just kinda vibe on a piece. It's always so nice to see, and it's a genre of Drawfee video I revisit often.
I find its when they're the most honest about their experiences as youtubers, about multitasking as entertainers while drawing, etc.
I still remember Karina & Jacob discussing her initial anxiety about having to be funny when she joined, and then gradually easing into it.
It's a real authenticity I appreciate, being wary of other 'influencers' who fake everything for the camera
@@37thraven yessssss. obviously a lot of the appeal is the goofs and the final renders, but I stick with Drawfee because I like watching the process. and not just mechanical stuff; the crew shows how social support via constructive feedback is a part of that process--they model how to workshop one's art, and even how to just be a friend to someone struggling with a project so badly that it shakes their self-esteem. and even beyond that, like how you mention the meta process of not just making art, but doing the show about their art.
I don't like throwing the word "authentic" around about media because at the end of the day we can't objectively gauge that, but their willingness to pull back the curtain that virtually everyone else leaves hanging is just such a mark of integrity, and it blends so well with all the talent on display. nevermind the fact that they're all amazing at what they do, I'm just impressed that they're able to be emotionally vulnerable on camera.

This may sound strange, but I’ve gone from mild insomnia to moderate and I’ve… recently been listening to y’all’s videos to help me fall asleep. I’m currently able to with just one video now, which I’m sorta proud of, but anyway, I just wanted to thank you guys. You’re voices are calming and you always sound like you’re having fun. It’s a very stabilizing environment for my brain, so… again, strange thanks.
It is also entertaining to see the results after I wake up. 😊

I’d love to see you guys do the “surprise color” challenge. You roll for 4 random colors, a dark tone, 2 mids, and a light tone. Make a palette on the canvas, then throw a hue layer with a white fill and color pick from your palette to paint. Then you turn off the hue layer at the end and see what you ended up with!

Karina’s drawing has been my phone background since the day this came out. I absolutely love the drawing for some reason and just find it so inspiring, the composition and vibes and everything. And of course, hot himbo is hot himbo. Wish I could get an actual poster of it for my room! I feel like this is more impactful since I’m aroace, it just shows how amazing Karina’s art is that even the horni stuff is so good a robot like me finds it beautiful! On the off chance you ever see this karina, thank you for the background and inspiring me right out of art block with dumb demon man :)

every time someone starts getting down on themselves about their composition, and everyone else immediately helps them understand why they're great, it gives me so much life. there was an era where every time Nathan followed up Julia he'd beat himself up by constantly comparing himself to her, and she would without fail come through with genuine, helpful positive feedback. such a wonderful way to get through the artistic process.

Please do this again! This was so much fun. I’ve done something similar in the past where me and a friend swapped random color palettes with each other. We ended up completing the first drawing really fast so we swap platted back and end up with four epic completely different drawings that we never would of thought of doing.
