Julia's math segment reminded be that, in spite of doing Calculus in high school and being the valedictorian, I have gotten so dumb in the past decade.
Teenage me would've seen that long division and been able to solve it mentally. Teenage me would know what the quadratic formula was.
Adult me had to open a bag of garbage that was sitting outside in the rain for three days because they accidentally threw their debit card and ID away. Adult me has a swirling void where everything they learned in high school used to be before.
Then again, adult me is also much happier. Teenage me was hella depressed, early 20s me was hella stressed and still hella depressed, and mid 20s me was also still hella depressed as well but also constantly smoking weed.
Late 20s me is the start of a new era, one in which I am dumber than I've ever been but also happier.
so its true that the less u know, the happier you are. - depressed "smartass" teen
The quadratic formula will forever be burned into my brain because my teacher had us memorize it by reciting it as a song of our choice... Let's just say Mony Mony by Billy Idol will forever pull out the quadratic formula from the deepest pits of my brain.

Julia: gives long emotional and detailed explanation of how an artist develops their own style
Jacob: your style is just the stuff you remember how to draw in the moment
I think that Julia's is conceptual and Jacobs is practical, making them both true and will work for different people.
I've also found that its a combination of the two. Some detailed and personal mixed with easy memory access.

yeah, the art style tangent is accurate, I hadn't even realized that my style was lineless until I joined a discord server that had regular art games and at around 2 or 3 art pieces in and realized nothing I had sent in had line art
Yeah I would have no idea how to describe my style cos I get bored easily and constantly try new things but I feel like there's still something in there that would make it recognisable as my art, but I dunno what.
Julia's attempt at cartooning turning into a full middle school math notes simulation made me very happy
