So it is worse in comparison to 3u and 4u? This happened in 3u and 4u often in my rooms.
Such a mood, makes me worried that some randoms don't bother reading what the room wants done.
@@VideoGamefreak737 oh yeah happens alot...and even then for round Robin hubs it's respectable that it goes by order of who entered and if a quest fails they can retry usually once some cases twice if it's a hard quest and the host is find with such...otherwise it moves on to the next...and then comes a random posting their quest saying "help" and if you do nothing or decide to explain they tend to leave, happens alot more than I wish, note not EVERY random like this but you can tell the difference between a good player and one that doesn't know much let alone helps others...even if you do help they either leave or just straight up put up another like...seriously

That's pretty accurate ngl. Like if it was a hard fight like fatalis or something it'd be understandable but this is one of the most basic and painful to replay sieges in the series, though not the most because that's volcano turtle. And to be clear i personally love sieges, at least the first 5 times i do each one. Though Zora was an exception.
For context: Lao Shan lung is a 60m long Elder Dragon, what walks SLOWLY through a ravine to a town and 1 quest last min. 30 min

When i join others i do at minimum the number of quests equal to the amount of players in the lobby before i ever post a monster i want to hunt. It would’ve been cool if there was a way for the lobby creator to turn on a setting that auto cycles through queued up quests from people in the lobby, so that no one has to wait too long, but also so that some random dude can’t interrupt what others have going on

I recently got back into Generations and did a villager request, and upon completion I talked again to the client, and she straight up called me out "Yeah, it wasn't that hard for your buddies with a higher HR, was it?"
Naturally, I found it hilarious because I play solo but it was still a funny meta moment

That reminds me of a funny story from back in my days with MH4U. Me and my friends were helping each other do some farming before we moved on up to G-Rank, someone joins the lobby midhunt, and when we all got back, we see them with a quest posted, and I quote exactly, they said “URGENT SNEK PLZ HALP.” We had the lobby clearly set up for grinding. Since then, that quote has become a bit of an inside joke among me and my friends. lol

That's kind of hilarious. I did that Dalamadur quest a bunch of times for other people's urgent, but when I tried getting someone to help me with it as my own urgent I could never find anyone. I eventually just gave up, and decided to stay High rank forever. Later on, someone offered to help me with it and I refused. I ended up collecting nearly every single High Rank armor set.(I think I might have collected all of them that were available before the Dalamadur fight.) It wasn't until last year that I finally decided to solo it and made it to G-rank, and I got the game day 1 at a midnight launch.
This is why they changed it to how it is now. Thank fuck they did. Makes the games actually playable imo.

I once had to do 3 long multi monster quests, posted my quest and the host abandoned and kicked me mid-quest because I shelled him once by accident. Probably the worst hub I've ever visited

This is hilarious. After the quest was failed, I already knew what was going to happen because I've lived it. You finally agree to help them with their urgent or whatever quest they were trying to do, then if they fail they just dip without a single word.
Bro literally just the other day I was anomaly investigation farming, no one in the room under MR 70, and this fuckin MR 2 guy pops in and posts his urgent and tries to guilt trip is into doing the quest with him. My friend of course, being the pushover teddy bear he is, helped him with the one quest while my other friend and I continued farming. But give an inch and they take a mile, dude kept posting his progression quests in a lobby that specifically stated it was for farming. I just kicked him. Someone has to be the asshole sometimes.
@@smoothysmooth4685 Standard newbie shit, "pls help 1 quest" I think is what he said when he first entered and afterwards just kept trying to post his quest and saying "pls join". We deliberately told him that we were a high rank lobby trying to farm high rank stuff and it's like the dude just ignored what we were saying. Guilt trip probably isn't the right term but it gets the message across well enough.

It's always the silent leave that gets you the most. It's almost as if they blame YOU for them dying 4 times in a quest with insurance or 5 in iceborne, and that it is YOU who isn't good enough.

Then again I have had lots of experience with "can you do my urgent" people. And plenty of times it has been in the most literal sense...
When they say "Can YOU do my urgent?", they aren't asking for help, they're asking to be carried and don't expect to have to actually try

Lol that cut to the gear. I tried to teach armor skill thresholds to my siblings, but eventually gave up and told them to just make sure to wear full sets. They're not the minmaxing types and it prevented them from being THAT guy.
That guy had a random G rank piece coupled with one high and three low rank ones man, you must really look down at your siblings to believe that they could potentially ever become like that

I was hopelessly optimistic thinking they somehow found a way to repel Lao-Shan Lung in 10 minutes, part of me knew it couldn't be done

Shame to say i was one of those people, i did it back on 4 ultimate but i joined a lobby that wasnt doing anything imporant and fortunately became good friends with the two and they taught me the best gear set ups and kept playing different MH games from there, so a big win for me.
I rarely had internet back in my 3u days so i just brute forced it with both traps, a fuckton of buffs/healing, and a para longsword. Though i also didn't understand setbuilding, shit it still hurts my brain a bit with the point system.
This is exactly what happens with randos when i play with my mh friend.
That "can you do my urgent?" delivery was well-rehearsed.
This has only happened to me once in GU which now makes me set the lobby HR min to 50 instead of 13 when I play with randoms. I think I was doing deviant farming when a noob ran in and posted an Ahtal-ka quest, I think their HR was in the 20s so probably carried noob, I told them no, this was a deviant farm. They were being annoying so I kicked them. That person came right back and posted Ahtal-ka even though another quest was posted. So I raised the min HR to 10 levels higher than the noob's HR level and kicked them again.
So Hunters have lobby etiquette, take turns if its a turns lobby, life powder your fellow hunters cause the games give you lots of them.
Somtimes I go to low level lobbies in my Goku transmoged/layered armor, kill a monster and leave. I've beaten every GU quest but I still have 5 weapons left to main so I'll go back to GU once I mained the remaining weapons. I'll probably go charge blade and bow when I get around to play world iceborne.
The Lifepowder one is a big one, the amount of times I've had people react with "You can do that!?" when I heal someone from death because they haven't touched the ground yet and I Lifepowder in time makes me realize just how little people actually use them at all
The terrifying abilities of the elder dragons: Fatalis has fire that melts through steel with ease, Chameleos has a powerful poison that will destroy a creature from the inside, Narwa the Allmother has mastery over lighting and wind, Lao-Shan Lung can walk slowly.
Lao Shan Lung has the ability to slow down time.
Sometimes they don't even say anything, sometimes they just post the damn quest out of nowhere without a word and expects everyone to just be on board.
and on the complete other end of the spectrum you get players who show up to sos signals, down the monster by themselves in the next 5 minutes, refuse to say anything and then immediately leave

"Based on a true story" of course it is. every one of your videos make me know that you play these games. there is so much truth in them. that armor set looks like one that someone from World would make if they went to an older game because one of their new friends told them to try it.
Funny thing about those types of armor sets, they were also a thing in 3 ultimate and 4 ultimate as well (before world came out).
Though what usually happened instead was people would help him forge an armor set and everyone resumes hunting together including the guy.
But that's based on my experience.
I remember being that guy when I first got tri, I didn't understand the first thing about armor sets, didn't even realize that armor skills existed

I've completely forgotten about these groups of people, but you managed to pull the memories from the abyss of my mind. Only ever encountered them in 3U and 4U, not GU, World, or Rise.
They definitely existed in GU, but Rise and World have Join Requests, so these people instead just queue into their hunt and wait for ppl to join randomly to carry them instead

As someone who has played the hell out of GU this hurt from how accurate it was >->. I've had to deal with these types of players all the time playing through GU. I tried to be tolerant at first but i've grown to just kick these people 9 times out of 10, mainly cause they are usually so damn rude. Almost any team these players showed up, it was in a hub that had pretty clear guidelines (i usually hosted Deviant only round robin hubs or any quest except deviants round robin), and usually they would not only disobey the rules they would do it when it isn't even their turn. Almost every time now i come across these players i kick them. It's so disrespectful i just don't understand the thought process.
I do absolutely understand if it is a person who is stuck and just genuinely wants help but you can easily tell if that's what they are (they usually are very understanding if the rules of the hub are explained to them). Since playing Sunbreak recently, i kinda forgot this sensation ngl, but damn i remember this scenario so vividly now -_- (Great job man seriously, i just felt everything come back to me watching this)
One year late but, this happened non stop in Tri, my best guess? They were actual children, it has to be that.
Moral of the story don't ever join someone who phrase it "can you do my" because that means can you do everything well I try and fail not to die

Yeah I've been through this. This is why I always use a passcode from now on with friends when it comes to rooms. Its not that I hate helping low ranked players, I love doing that, but when you're trying to farm one monster but they need storymode help.... its annoying, especially if you put that as part of the room's goal.
I do recall having a few run-ins with the urgent requesters back in the 3U, 4U, and Gen days, and I'm pretty sure for quite a few of them I ended up just soloing the monster for them while they waited in camp.
Honestly I feel like urgents should be solo only so that only players who are actually at that level should be allowed to rank up. Especially since canonically urgent quests are usually a test by the guild to determine if that hunter is worthy or not. Getting someone else to do all the work does not make you a better hunter. This way, if you play with someone in a G rank quest or something, you could assume they can probably hold their own, similar to how in certain games (mainly 4U) you could tell if someone was decent if they were using Monoblos equipment, since it meant they were playing the offline quests.
Either way, I pretty much only play solo or with friends now. I'd rather not deal with that crap.
I can't begin to tell you how many times this has happened to the point that I want to pull my hair out of my head cause I'm always the nice guy willing to help a newer player do their urgent xD
I remember once in Ultimate on the 3DS this exact thing happened to me. However I managed to convince them to do my quest first and then having gotten all the materials I needed I left the lobby without helping them. No I do not feel bad, my lobby was clearly for a Jho quest and they came in trying to take over so screw them

After many years of playing this series, I can say with certainty I'd rather be in a lobby with this kind of person than be in a quest with a HH user who both doesn't buff and tries to trap & cap the Elder Dragon. I don't know what that person is doing in life since trying that shit against Velkhana in Iceborne, but I hope they learned.

Yeah, this is why I do all my Urgent Solo, painful yes but online nobody is interested in helping me.
Usually when I meet these players I immediately think that they are children. Before kicking them out, I tell them to look for specific Lobbies or do Turn Lobbies.

When I explained to them that the lobby was for deviants only, they said "shut up you gay supporter" because I had on rainbow dye and then they left. It still haunts me to this day

Call me an elitist but everyone who manages to get flatlined 4 times in 10 minutes is a instant kick. I wanna have fun - this can include helping less experienced and less skilled players but it doesnt include babysitting.
If you and your buddy went into an urgent for the rando they only scenario I see is that you guys doing most of the fighting while the rando hangs around at camp doing Gog knows what while you suckers complete the quest.
