Will the UK provide reparations for slavery's historical impact on the Caribbean?

  • Reparations demands are gaining momentum throughout the Caribbean. Will the United Kingdom offer an apology and provide compensation for the enduring consequences of slavery in its former colonies within the West Indies? Or as Prime Minister Rishi Sunak suggests, should we focus on learning from history rather than attempting to undo it?

You mispelled "white" and "Black", but your point absolutely stands. She was in the middle of responding to the host's question and the man straight up interupted her. No one interrupted him when he was talking earlier. Then again, white people have quite a history of silencing Black people trying to point out key racial problems. 😠

Even worse is that later when the white man tries to interupt the Black man, the hosts stops him, but that same host did nothing when the Black woman was interrupted.

If the descendants of people involved in slavery wish to voluntarily pay compensation, that’s all well and good. But there is no concept of hereditary guilt in European law.

Then go ask Turkey for your reparation, i don't understand you people. the case here is about the Colonization of Africa and the slave trade businesse that was carried out by European state on Black Africa, but what do you do... you bring up issues that has no merits to the current discussion, if anything you are just showing ignorance and racism

@@user-qv4nb6tu6t That's what "those devils" do. They don't want to hear the truth about their evil history. White people deflect, deny, minimize and equivocate (like the white man on this video) but they will pay or be destroyed from within.

But turkey does owe reparations to the millions of Armenians assyrians and Greeks that were slaughtered by the ottomans and to the Greek and Baltic families that had their children taken as slaves each year to build the wealth of the ottoman empire

When will Australia, Canada etc pay us back for the English slaves sent in the 19th& 20th centuries. You only had to pinch a loaf because you were hungry and you were on a ship.

No one ever talks about the big picture, like Great Britain stopping Sati in India, or native Africans digging up missionaries to eat them, and the whole issue of civilising Africa. etc etc etc. In the bible there were essentially 3 types of slavery, one a job for life if you get a good employer, two the brothers of Joseph voluntarily offering themselves as slaves rather than starving, three the epistle of James and kidnapping slaves and evil owners. If you say all slave owners were evil in all history, and some volunteered for it, are you saying "being" as well as "owning" slaves was a mortal sin? It is not as simple as you think, and that is why the bible says "Let as many servants as are under the yoke count their own masters worthy of all honour, that the name of God and his doctrine be not blasphemed. And they that have believing masters, let them not despise them, because they are brethren; but rather do them service, because they are faithful and beloved, partakers of the benefit. These things teach and exhort.
If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness; He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings, Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself." 1 Timothy 6.
These "calls for cash" maybe Putin trying to attack the UK,

Where is it recorded factually that Afrikan people dug up the bodies of missionaries to eat them? We KNOW of how Europeans bought mummies from Egypt during the late 19th century and the first half of the 1900s to pulverised as a mixture which they mixed to drink as a medicine. They also ate the flesh.... check the newspapers of the late 1800s in New York and other places....

Forcing the innocent to pay nonvictims for something that happened to neither of them is not reparations.
Reparations is actual proven victims being compensated by their actual violators.
I don't know of anybody who opposes that.
