That room looks pretty tidy. 10x10 is tiny!
Doing well to fit so much in without being cramped.

It always amazes me how much those 80s hand held Pac Man games sell for. All of them (Donkey Kong, Frogger, etc...) are pretty valuable.

    • @Channel33RPM
      @Channel33RPM  4 ปีที่แล้ว

Yeah, it's crazy. I would love to get my hands on Donkey Kong and Frogger at some point, but if not, I am happy with Pac Man.

I just got a pioneer plx 1000 turntable, with a Ortofon 2m Bronze and Peachtree audio m24 bamboo powered book shelf speakers. Great setup especially for people who don't have a lot of space

I like the CD shelf. My CDs are in racks right next to the LPs . I don't play CD 's as much as vinyl but I do like how much easier it is to take care of CDs.

@@Channel33RPM Yeah, I also think that they're expensive, especially because the piezo electric element is not replaceable.

excellent job frank you have done with you music room and you explained everything in fine details from the décor to equipment and to the layout of your records and you memorabilia stuff. you are a craftsman at work.

Liked seeing the sansei Amp. I have an Au-217 and the matching tuner, TU-217 that I bought back in 1978. Don't use it right now, but has been a solid amp and tuner for years.

A nice and well organized music room. My music room is the product of a disorganized mind (that being my own). I do not have a class A receiver and speaker system. My turntable is wired into my computer via a preamp and the sound is through my computer's surround speakers and sub woofer. It's a very non traditional way of playing music, inspired by wanting to save a few dollars in electricity bills, buy ejecting my aging and faulty Onkyo receiver. Admittedly I was only using the Onkyo for the preamp stage and it's output was through the computer, an idea that came to me after my Bose 301 speakers reached the end of their life cycle.

Very nice Frank. Wish I could be so neat and organized. I can tidy up, and a couple days later it's hard to walk around the room without advanced planning for each step!

Frank , may I suggest adding the Cambridge Audio CXN (V2) Network audio streamer to your audio gear ??? You'll be hooked. I promise. There's even a 24/7 commercial free KISS station that you'll find. All KISS, all the time.

Very thorough Frank and I'd expect nothing less. The room is looking great and I was surprised to hear is was 10x10. Looks bigger on the video. Some great ideas and those room videos series I'd say is worth doing a regular video on. They are the gift that keeps on giving with regards to ideas for people and good to watch.

Proper 'Ansome as we say in Cornwall. I liked the bit about 'and in the closet we have...' It's the same here, only there are things in my shed (2 reel to reels, 3 head cassette deck, Sony amp, er several turntables and so on) My music room (area) is small but I reckon it's pretty together. I'd love it if you added me to the list of potential music room tours.

  • @cpta03

For a small space, you certainly made efficient use of every square foot. I also have a small music room (10 x 13 feet), so I know it took a lot of planning to get it right. The extra 1x3 wood bracing is a great idea that I will have to incorporate in my Kallax shelves, since I live in earthquake country (San Francisco Bay Area)! Thanks for sharing.

Steven Suehiro I’ve considered that, but I usually use that space for records I’m actively listening to, sitting them in front of the records on the shelf, leaning back with the artwork facing out.

Your Shaggy and Velma figures are awesome. Your room looks great. Similar to mine @ 10x10 in grey paint. It’s a challenge to fit everything. I want all my CDs in my room also but have almost 3,000 and need a lot of shelving. I too switch turntables, RT85 and a Pioneer PL-511.

I found one in my alley! I put it in my daughter’s room in a spot nothing else would fit and she uses it for DVDs and books. Most of my CDs are on Ikea Lerberg racks. I absolutely love them, but they were discontinued years ago, and I need more space for CDs. I’m torn between trying to find more used or getting a Gnedby.

I liked it! Sometimes you have to do the best you with what room you have. I have a small room also, but I'm always trying to maximize by rearranging stuff around to make my room better. I recently set up a 2nd monitor as it makes it better to troubleshoot computer issues and monitor my vinyl recordings better. I have al my 940 plus CDs still in storage (they're all copied to an external HD) and would like to get them back into my room. Great job on revamping your room! 🎸🔊🤘

    • @Channel33RPM
      @Channel33RPM  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

For sure... all about maximizing the space you have. Hopefully you can bring your CDs out (or at least some of them). I figure I'm close to full capacity, but I could replace my 1x4 shelving unit with a 2x4...

Wonderful. Not a colour I would pick as I like things bright, but it is what suits you Frank. Noticed the album playing was on Westbound Records. Curious to which artist it is. I have a Funkadelic Best Of on Westbound Records. It was an import and cost me 99p in the eighties. Hopefully this year, I will get the current 6006 Marantz Amp (UK) edition and later on the 6006 Marantz CD Player (UK) edition too. Nice to have you back.

My biggest mistake(ok exaggeration) when setting up my room was NOT painting first... now everything is settled in nicely but with yellow walls and a "lovely" floral wallpaper border (in lilac of course). Chances of removing everything and painting now? slim to none.

I wasn't impressed, because it happened to me, with a 2m high shelve dropping tons of vinyl in my face.
While vinyl is flexible, it's surprisingly hard when it comes down on you by the 100folds....
Life is a bitch from time to time.

@@QoraxAudio Sorry to hear about that my friend. Seems like you're still alive so that is good lol. I was curious...were you trying to move/slide the shelf over a when it collapsed, or did it literally just fall when you weren't even touching it?

All this stuff in just a small 10 by 10 room?? Wow. I couldn't even fit a third of my record collection in there. I definitely need a bigger room then you're listening room. You got to have at least a 12 by 15 room but you did a good job!

I'm in your boat. No room. Just an IKEA Alex and some powered monitors on my desk.

Knew you'd beat me to it Frank 👍
I've got decorated but I've been tearing my hair out moving the furniture around. Still can't get it right and a trip to IKEA is on the cards this week.
Similar size room to yours, trying not to waste space yet avoiding a claustrophobic mess is a pain 🤪
    Great job 👍

Good luck with the room makeover Stephen. I ended up trying a few configurations before I settled on this one. As you note, it's about maximizing the space, while still trying to get things in order.
      Cheers

Great looking music room, Frank. I really think the darker grey color looks awesome. Way better than the minty green. Does that Marantz CD player play SACD’s as well? You should have some more cassettes at your door very soon. :) Take care, Billy-

Thanks Billy. The CD player does not play SACDs, unfortunately. I look forward to receiving your package!
