Because all you need to play Slipknot is -Double bass pedal or just have two bass drums -China cymbal -2 or 3 crashes -Ride cymbal -Splash -Hi-hat of course

B C S You don't really need 3 toms. I have a 4 piece kit, snare, 1 rack, 1 floor and a kick w/double pedal. Works just fine. Just gotta strategically decide how to do long fills.
When you see Krimh play these Slipknot tracks, you can't help but realise how good Joey was to write this stuff. It's so got so much groove and feel yet still delves into the speedy death metal stuff from time to time. I know he's not technically awesome (Krimh and thousands of other metal drummers shit on him in that department) but he is bloody good and you can't fault the guy for sheer fun, listenable, head bopping metal.
Hey Jamie! I have been drumming 5 months now and i'm a beginner. What do people mean by technical? Cause i see several people saying that Joey is kinda sloppy. I don't get it. I mean speed, playing sustained is quite important and if you can manage that then i would consider you a good drummer because it takes a lot of effort to get there. Still, i don't get the technical part about drumming. Could you explain it? Would really appreciate that! Kind regards!
Ilias Joels When someone says a drummer is technical, it means that they are very good with technique. Their dynamics, they way the hold sticks, the way they strike each voice of the kit, evenness, and timing is all mastered to a point where it is considered advanced. Being technical doesn't mean difficult in all cases. Ex: Mangini is technical and his pieces are complicated and hard to play.

I'm terms of consistancy, Krimh is better because he's not playing an hour and a half set, along with the 100° pyrotechnics flaring right next to him, and the fact that he plays in front of thousands of people. So no one is better here. They're both fantastic drummers with their own unique style and flare.
Actually there are plenty of videos of Krimh playing live full sets in front of thousands of people (with Behemoth for example) and his consistancy was absolutely great. But as you said, they're both fantastic drummers with their own unique style.
Yeah dude. Behemoth, Decapitated, Septicflesh... the guy is a veteran of large scale heavy metal festivals playing extremely technical shit in front of huge crowds. Saw Septicflesh at Brutal Assault two weeks ago and he was on point.

they sure are both great drummers! and when people hear the back story of jay's connection with Slipknot over the years they can probably better understand why he was selected. As drummers both are great for the job but as you're most likely aware they wanted to play with someone they had a connection with and could co-exist with on a daily basis with :) this is not to say Krimh doesn't fit that criteria too but we all know the outcome

I’ve always loved krimhs drumming ever since I discovered him in like 2010 I’ve always loved the technicality he brings with the musicality he has accompanied by the sheer power of his drumming is just incredible. The music he’s written himself is some of the best drum work I’ve ever seen

The fact that slipknot chose jay because the manager of slipknot was the same manager of jays old band so he knew he could trust him so jay was contacted by his manager and did the audition months before even krimh did the audition if slipknot had the shot to see krimh they wouldve picked him instead of jay because you know comparing krimhs drumming to jays is like comparing behemoth's drumming to ac dc drumming

It’s a band decision and also Weinberg has more connections cuz of his dad and also he’s just a overall adaptable. Weinberg can play anything although I personally don’t like his style

Dude, that was awesome. Flawless as well. I think you would be the perfect replacement for Joey, hands down. You even got the black hair like him. To tell you the truth, the band should have never told the public that Joey was gone, they should have just propped you up there with the mask on, nobody would know the difference.
I would notice. Krimh is much more powerful and precise than Joey.
