    When your on the EXP screen actually move the joystick and you will see how making the changes impacts the joystick.. the dot will move and follow the line and you will see / feel how much movement you have to do in order for dot to start moving.. super handy to see it while you test the movements.. also helps you see which of the 3 is adjusting what for sure..

    Thanks for a very informative video. I have a couple of questions if you don't mind. Firstly at 0:51 the gimbal screen banner shows configurations 1 2 and 3 and my new mavic defaulted to Configeration 3, as is yours. Is this really just a facility to try three different setting arrangements of the gimbal so you can then choose one before each flight? If that was the case I wondered why it didn't default to configeration 1 out of the box. Secondly in relation to the histogram and the overexposure markings, in reality do you change settings midflight? I am a novice but seem to have too much to concentrate on without getting in to particular camera settings. Does this come with experience?

    • @DansTubeTV
      @DansTubeTV  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you very much for your support and your comment :) I believe that those configurations allow you to try different settings. I believe that you should set your drone up near a nice area so that you can adjust camera settings before you take off. I adjust camera settings after I have taken off sometimes, I believe that comes with time though :)

    • @DansTubeTV

  • @RoyTheKing241
    @RoyTheKing241 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Good tips. A question if I may. I've been reading and watching a few posts on the Mavic air/pro producing undesirable images. One point was that when you used sharpness at 0 or below, the Mavic would introduce in-camera noise reduction which would cause problems for parts of the image. Have you noticed this at all?

    • @DansTubeTV

    Its old hat now I guess, but I wanted to know how to stop the very fast rotating actions on the Drone. of course I can see its me just whacking over the stick, but I'm rather hoping the suggestion in here for using cinematic setting will fix this. Shame you cant have the drone default to this setting, looks like you can only enter that once actually flying (from Normal to cinematic that is)
    Great vid

    • @DansTubeTV
      @DansTubeTV  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, cinematic mode is great for smoother movements. I guess that you’ll just have to switch it into that mode when you take off ✈️

    great tips! do you have one for when your mavic air refuses to pair with your controller? XD that happened when I was trying to turn it on to change some settings to the suggested ones.

    • @DansTubeTV
      @DansTubeTV  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh no 😔 I don’t! 😂 I do recommend turning on the controller first and then the drone (in that order). I have had some issues where it doesn’t pair sometimes, turn them off and on again. Alternatively, unpair and then re-pair the controller and the drone again (search TH-cam for a tutorial).

    • @dallasstorey
      @dallasstorey 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    My opinion is that DJI should make their camera better. I've flown with a Gopro Hero 4 previous to owning the air and I just turned protune on -- AND THATS IT. I didn't have to monkey with any of these settings, and that is one of my biggest disappointments with this drone. They've made the drone easy to fly -- make the camera easy too. For example if you use these settings at sunrise or sunset you'll only be able to fly in one direction. If you fly with the sun anywhere in your shot you'll have to stop -- readjust the settings -- because it will overexpose.

  • @Heli4213
    @Heli4213 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Quick question. I know on the Phantoms it may be different but when you come down to land and your lets say 3 feet off the ground you pull the stick down and it lands and the props stop.
    If you are at a 100 feet and pull the left stick all the way down the props wont stop will they?? Doesn't it sense if it is near the ground?? Sometimes I want to come down faster but am afraid to try it??

    • @DansTubeTV
      @DansTubeTV  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The props will not stop if you are at 100 feet and you hold the left stick down. It only goes into the landing sequence when it recognises the ground and then you hold the stick down.

    Question, I have a DJI mavic air and use it with Android, do you think that's a issue with my gimble when moving around? Seems like when I move around with 4k 30fps or 1080p with 30fps or 60fps it's still laggy 🙄🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️ so do you think my drone would work better with iPhone or doesn't matter just the settings? But I think it's stupid that the drone even has the high quality settings if it's not even gonna film buttery smooth 🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️

    • @DansTubeTV
      @DansTubeTV  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It might have something to do with your shutter speed. If you are recording in 30fps then your shutter needs to be 60, 120 or any other increments of 30 otherwise it will be “laggy”.

  • @wetookalpha8598
    @wetookalpha8598 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I've just uploaded some raw footage to my channel but in some parts the left side of the screen has black lines/artefacts. Anyone have any ideas what cause this kind of thing? I'm using D-Cinelike

    • @DansTubeTV
      @DansTubeTV  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      This could be due to the shutter speed that you were using when you were recording. The shutter speed needs to be a multiple of the FPS that you are using. So 30fps, you can use the shutter speed 60/90/120/150 etc. This should fix your black lines/artefacts issue.

      That is weird. I wonder if that has something to do with your phone or the controller. You could try to connect your drone to your computer and use DJI’s software to calibrate everything. Maybe try reinstalling the app. Also test your GPS through other apps.

    How did you get rid of the zebra black and white lines

    • @DansTubeTV
      @DansTubeTV  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just disable the over exposure warning in the settings if you want to remove the zebra patterns.

    So, I will have to have WiFi for my drone to fly?
    If so, what will I need to shoot somewhere without WiFi normally?

    • @DansTubeTV
      @DansTubeTV  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The drone uses wi-fi technology to communicate between the controller and the drone. You plug your phone into the controller and then everything works seemlessly.

    Can anyone tell my why I get some pictures from my mavic air completely blurry. And then I get some that aren't to bad not great, but clear, that you can see what it is.

    • @DansTubeTV
      @DansTubeTV  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is really odd, I haven’t had this happen to me. Maybe make sure that the lens is clean and also update the drone to the latest firmware?

      🤣 I try to get my point across as fast as possible without filler. People don’t have long attention spans and I find people prefer my no filler approach to reviews. Thanks for the suggestion though, I will slow down as I am going through menus and explaining things.

    Hello Dan,
    my Air keeps giving me no image transmission whenever I fly the drone, please any tip, as I am just tired of this thing already, for over one month now I haven't had any amazing area shots. SOS

    • @DansTubeTV
      @DansTubeTV  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You need to go to your wifi settings and choose the channel with the least interference. Fly the drone for a bit and then land to change the channel again if you still experience interference. Familiarise yourself with the wifi settings, that is the golden tip.

    your shutter is a bit high, also use Auto exposure for Low hanging sun especially if you are panning round... Use manual for normal day light or when you are not looking near the suns direction...

    Does the Air introduce noise reduction below a +1 setting in the sharpness value? Anything below a +1 on the mavic pro introduces a HORRIBLE noise reduction that makes trees look like a water color mushy mess. It's terrible and dji has never fixed it.

    • @DansTubeTV
      @DansTubeTV  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I noticed that with the Mavic Pro as well. I momentarily tested the sharpness value at +1 the other day with the Mavic Air and it did introduce some noise. It didn't seem to be as bad as the Mavic Pro but it was still there. I might have to do a few more tests. That is why I play it safe by changing the style values to -1,-1,-1. Thanks for watching, great question. I will change the sharpness value next time and see how that goes.

      I have a link in the description to Amazon or just type Mavic Air into google.
