Kindness. A speech by 3rd grader, Olaudah.

"Be kind whenever possible, and it is always possible." DBG 3rd grader, Olaudah, delivered a powerful Project Soapbox speech about kindness.
"When I first arrived at my school, it wasn't easy. Sometimes I was mistreated by my classmates. Sometimes at recess they threw balls at me, pushed me, and said hurtful things about the way I look and the way I dress," he said.
So, he started thinking, "Why can't I learn how to be kind at school?"
Olaudah is proposing a daily school class or workshop that teaches the skill of kindness.
"One of the many important things I've learned from school is that trying to learn in a place without kindness is painful, and people in pain act in hurtful ways toward others. Imagine how great every school could be if every student took a kindness class and was rewarded and celebrated for kindness..." Watch.
