I look up to the Los Angeles Violet team so much! I do speech and I'm scared of debate but this video has inspired me to step out of my comfort zone :)
Big regret! I blew off public speaking in college, but now in the corporate world, I see how crucial it is. This video is amazing! These young adults are so impressive - they express themselves with such intellectual professionalism. Makes me wish I'd taken it more seriously back then.
This was absouloutly amazing on both prop and opp. I'm not sure who one but I know for a fact this was deserved. I watched this round to practice and take notes on the amzing achievements yall have made!! congratsss
Yeah I feel like that’s unfair to the affirmative because the other people on the neg team get all the extra time to prep that it takes for the thank yous to go
exactlllyyyyy like I hate when people act like the world is black and white like "I'm right, you're wrong" and belittle the other person for not agreeing
I see where your coming from but remember that while a lot of manipulation is used on winning by using the ethos and pathos appeal, they still combine these appeals with hard fax
@@r1man26 yes. They give the topics weeks before the competitions in local and higher competitions. This is a national one. In the national debate competitions there is always a topic where you only have like 1 hour to prepare

Y'all didn't even make a slight chance for other team to win =))) (Btw you're prob the only TH-camr with an educational video having >200K views, congrats)
I don't know if you've gotten more info on this since, but when you referred to the people of Baloch at 25:23, it was very incorrect. It would not be "Balochistans" but instead something like the "Baluchis". I just got irritated so I thought I'd share! No hate, great debate!

It was bugging me as well for a bit. But then I saw someone claim that they only get 1 hour to prepare for the subject of the debate, and then it makes sense to me that they look down a bit to memorize what they are debating about etc. I dont think anyone is able to prepare for a debate in 60 minutes and speak fluently and vividly about the subject.

This is great! I just started debate, and I hope that I can achieve something close to this, one day!
1:07:18 -1:07:38 that was so good, you found a way to almost flat out insult their argument in round and come out not sounding like a total jerk.
I have a question
Do they prepare there debate material before hand or are they given topic on spot
@@r1man26 This is prepared. There are impromptu debates, but they are not given access to the internet.

on the spot, about an hour or so prior

Eh, the change of tone from the "thank you" into the debate of the first topic is way too emotional for me.
