? You all are literally playing semantics. Yes, the games don't exist because they never saw retail releases, but he meant that he never knew that there were Mario games that got cancelled.
I think if VB Mario Land were released, the Virtual Boy would have a different story in the history books.
Nope. The bed design, the bulky hardware, the criticisms of it being not virtual in the slightest, the headaches and eye-strain and the red and black coloring all contributed to it's failure. A Mario Land would have done nothing for it.

I can honestly understand nixing the Mario wrestling one. If they were really going to have moves like Waluigi straight up stomping down on Mario, good chance kids will get way too into that and start imitating the moves themselves.

Huh interesting this is the first time I have ever heard someone say that 128 became sunshine. Most other videos I've seen said it was what inspired galaxy.
Funny, Mario motors uses the exact same logo and is a sponsor on the guard rails of Mario kart 8 tracks
That was the same thing that came in my mind when I saw that logo. Maybe it was a hint to that cancelled game or/and they wanted to use the logo, since they already created it.
Mario Factory sounds like the most old-school take on Super Mario Maker ever.

I'd choose Super Mario 64 2, despite being put on the 64DD, nowadays Nintendo would most likely have rereleased it for Virtual Console or the Switch (maybe in 3D All-Stars). Or who knows, maybe the 64DD would have lasted a bit longer had it come out.
My fav mario game is 64. Thankfully there are tons of great full gake mods to play.

That Boo game had a really cool art style in the concept art. If the actual game had been able to capture that style, it would have been one of my favorite "Mario" games from an aesthetic standpoint. On top of that, the idea of a game centering on Boos is intriguing. I have the feeling it would have looked fundamentally different from any other games in the franchise.

Actually, we know for a bonefied 100% FACT that Super Mario 128 was ONLY a tech demo and nothing more. It was nothing but an in-house development concept that showed 128 small characters on screen that later became the basis for Pikmin
Honestly I kind of want the "Mario Land 3" to get remade onto the switch it actually sounds really cool
also did you know someone at Nintendo wanted to make a 3d Mario game on the Snes but it got cut due to lack of buttons on the controller
I mean that kinda ending up happening in SMRPG:LOTSS! It definitely had a much more 3D style that any other game of the system.
The smooth scrolling from the smb3 pc port was actually used to make Wolfenstein and Doom.

note: super mario 128 actually didnt get cancelled and made a new project but it evolved into super mario galaxy just a lot of stuff intended for super mario 128 was sadly cut
it was a tech demo so it was later remade into pikmin and mario galxay
Im pretty sure what was thought to be sm64 2 was actually just a development kit for the nintendo 64

You forgot mario kart (or mario kart for the game boy) which there is a 8 second footage (which that's how we got SSB mario and luigi designs since then) and ended up being changed to mario kart double dash (if I'm correct and was for the game boy)

I have heard about only 2 of these: Super Mario's Wacky Worlds and Super Mario 128
when you talked about Matio takes over America, the music use was too distracting cause it changed every few seconds. I couldn't really understand what you were saying
The fact that Miyamoto kept telling us that 128 was gona come out and kept telling that for a preety long time after all that work put in the game it was cancelled. Also if 128 was gona realese i think it was gona come with the gamecube console when you bought it or it was gona be a game that dint cost alot of money ( Because would you spend 60 dollars to see 128 marios walk around i mean that was amazing back then but i mean come on be real with me here if you dint know it was canceled or if dint get cancelled would u spend 60 dollars on it'?)

Probably that Virtual Mario Land prototype ended up as the Virtual Boy Wario Land, since the gameplay is very similar to that one.
Mario motors probably got canceled due to the similarities too Mario Kart
I don't consider Paper Mario a sequel to SMRPG. Two different storylines. Paper Mario is its own animal. SMRPG does need a proper sequel, maybe with some updated mechanics. It could be a good Switch game.
