- Some more old VHS edited material. This time covering scenes in Brisbane including what was Brisbane freight yard, Rosewood coal, and various subjects including general freight, rail cars and gangers trolleys between Rosewood and Laidley back in the real railway days.
Never realized just how much I miss the sound of those old diesels, they used to be everywhere
The EE's had such a terrific sound to them.
Thanks. I worked in QR freight for over 30 yrs into the Aurizon days, and this brings back memories of the better times.🙂
Back when it was a proper railway.
@@tedbear4243Absolutely. 😢
I also worked for QR from 74 to 05. Started at Roma St as a Shunter. Then left but came back in 2010 with Aurizon. Not the same anymore but neither is anything else. Brings back a lot of memories both good and bad.
@@alanhaynes4576 Too true.
Fantastic videos from the olden days of the QR trains
Recently visited Rosewood, this gives me a much appreciated overview of how things used to be . Thank you.
I remember the Rosewood Marburg track I used to ride my bike on, the only trains we saw back in the 80s on those lines were the coal trains. The silver bullet to Ipswich 😊
I remember those old blue diesel trains as a kid!!
Brings back memories,l finished up at QR in 88 .shunter.
Yes indeed they were the real railway days
Great piece of history sir :)
Thank you kindly
all the footage is 10/10

That pick-up is extraordinary . . . .
Great video - thank you.
Thx Dave, appreciate your comment.
Australian coal trains with blue Diesel engine and little red guards wagon as normal! Diesel passenger train!!
Fantastic cheers for the upload
Thx for the comment. As Ive said elsewhere, Ive been surprised at the level of appreciation of the old VHS videos, esp given the poor tech quality of them. More to come over the next few months.
Those old Locos sitting at Roma street rail yard you wonder how many have survived I see a rare 1250 class loco
@@tedbear4243 regardless of vhs quality it just brings back memories of days past. Also im recreating this era in minature so its good to see the consists etc for prototypical running
Wow. Thx so much for posting.
Am pleased that its appreciated :-)
I was a driver in the area in the good old days, then all of a sudden it was all gone , station staff rail cars, goods trains local shunts, all on the roads now
Ipswich yes I know years ago
was that the sunlander about 50% of the way through?
Hi Rob. That was the Westlander on its way back east, between Laidley and Grandchester. I cant recall the name of the actual place, but where the double line becomes single before going into the tunnel.

So why close down track to towns people fernval QLD
Another great film mate.
Cheers mate. But keep an eye out in 12 months or so as these vids that were edited VHS to VHS are going to be re done which will improve the quality a little bit. Plus a couple of vids I have somehow stupidly rendered at 24 frames per second instead of 25, which causes a frame to be dropped each second :-(
