Just bought a brand new Entegra with the F53 chassis. Liquid springs would be nice....but it would kill my payload capacity. I put the Safe T Plus shock on....added a track bar and install Sumo Springs. Much better now. I also kept my 2015 F-350 dually and my 40' Travel Trailer (Bumper Pull). I like both rigs but they both have their plusses and minuses. Glad to see that you will work on these. Some dealerships won't and the RV places are sometimes Months of waiting to even get them to look at your RV. Keep up the great work!
An RV?! Welcome to my world. I dont work on the chassis though just the house side. The gas RV chassis are known for the rough ride. First time I've heard of the liquid springs I'll have to check that out. ❤
It has been my experience that some customers are REAL bad at describing their complaint and by following what they say can send you down the wrong rabbit hole. SO it is my practice to ALWAYS duplicate the complaint. I have found it has saved me much time. !
I can’t tell for sure from the video, but it looks like the rear suspension components were replaced as well. I would have checked to make sure something didn’t come loose, allowing play in the components. The rear axle may be shifting a little when going from forward to reverse.
Retired last March. Wife and I are going out to see the country this spring and summer, and probably even longer!! Have a 2016 F350 SRW RWD 6.7 and a 2022 Rockwood 29' 5th wheel RV. Enjoy your channel Aaron, keep up the good work!!
We just took delivery of our new F550 Chassis cab with the 6.7. Getting the flatbed installed next week and the camper ordered for it soon. Gets the Buckstop treatment as well (what you saw in Sema) with the big tires and all. Will get Liquid Spring on it as well. Then will live in it full-time as we travel North America.
I own a 2020 Holiday Rambler Vacationer 35K 6.8L V-10 6R140 6 speed trans with the LiquidSpring 4 corner 5 link suspension system, by far the best money that I have spent on this coach. It was like driving a 26,000 box before LiquidSpring to now driving a large SUV, it's that good.
Just wanted to know, why not air bags? I'm aware of the inherent leaking problems (everything has its draw backs)bags seems like it would deliver 90 percent of the ride for half the price?
@@matthewholzmueller6292 An air ride/bag suspension is somewhat a static system, it does not have the capability to instantly adapt and adjust to the road conditions, crosswind, hard braking, abrupt lane changes like the LiquidSpring system can. LiquidSpring analyzes vehicle speed, steering, braking, vehicle ride height and road conditions 1000 times per second and reacts at 40 millisecond rate or 0.040 of a second. No air bag/ride suspension can do that. Not even TRW's or Valid active air systems do not have that type capability.
@@matthewholzmueller6292, Yes, 550 lbs, which counts as cargo, fortunately I can afford to lose that amount due to the way we travel and load our coach.
Arod!!! I could see it in your eyes!!! You and your Wife taking off with the kids or friends to Florida for the rest of the winter!!! Only thing that would be different is that you would get that motor home with a 6.7 power stroke 😁👍😎
Boss when I first tuned in I thought you were walking across the parking lot with a Banks Pedal 👻..I was hoping to see you take it for a spin in track mode! Lol..Very nice ride. Life goals right there!
So that orange strap is a CatStrap. It is a catalytic converter theft deterrent. Three metal straps wrapped in insulation and a silicon orange layer on one side and a heat activated adhesive on the pipe side and also held with SS clamps. The orange is supposed to tell the thieves to pick another vehicle.
I use to work on the G.M. work horse chasis for side money. Once you know how to navigate the parts stuff by using diffrent methods not bad. I had to stop working on them because 08 and below parts have become scarce.
My first thought too when I heard the complaint. My brand new at the time 1977 Camaro with limited slip shook the car like it was coming apart. 4 trips to the dealer before the old tech came up shaking his head. They forgot to put the additive in again! Little bottle of additive and turned smooth as silk. Amazing this still continues 40+ years later.
I had a 23 Ford E350 ambulance was the same thing I had to use IDS instead of FDRS...when I use FDRS gave me a error message...so that when I went to IDS.. and was able to read the codes it had in it...
A friend has an Entegra C Class RV built on a ford chassis. His check engine light is on... The RV dealer says they do not work on chassis problems and the Ford dealers say they to not work on RVs. The nearest repair shop in 2 and a half hours away. So much for warranty.
Same here. . . . . Low speed in traffic, transmission dose not hold on to first gear at very low speed. Manual says that it should “use neutral” to reduce the idle drag on the engine to save fuel? Really? Makes for a very bumpy crawl as the transmission continues to let go and re-engage ‘first gear’. Is there a ‘fix’?
Having owned 3 tow behinds and my brother a Winebago and 2 conversion vans we have both concluded the only way to keep them from falling apart is to not use them. RV build build quality is abysmal IMO. A lot of money wasted on a rapidly depreciating asset. Thanks for the video.
FYI... Motorhomes are not shipped by the MFG to the dealerships, they are driven. SO, the first trip a new motorhome makes is usually like 1800miles. So, your MH you are working on really only has 400 owner miles on it. !
As soon as the slide starts to move there is plenty of air space to make that a none issue. I've had several with big slides and have never heard of such a thing to do when moving the slides.
I think the 7.3 is not enough engine for that constant, almost 26k weight. That is definitely diesel territory, and I think manufacturers need to be sued for putting these gas engines into these RVs. As they are doomed to fail.
7.3L is plenty of motor. This thing is on a FedEx truck chassis and those get loaded to max GVWR all the time and for many miles. Heck, the 650/750 gets this engine.
They would be doing much driving with this one ! When people get the gas burners they will set a lot. Much easier to set in one place for a long time that a diesel and it is cheaper to maintain !
In one of the oil price spikes in the early 80s I worked as a Chev dealer tech in truck shop. We had a few 33 foot Holiday Ramblers come in for repairs that had been repowered from 454s to 4.5 litre ( or close to that) non turbo Isuzu 6 cyl diesels that were 95 HP. They had 400 automatics which do not have low gearing in 1st and even worse in reverse. Nothing I have ever been around in the 40 years since was anywhere near as slow as this slug.
@tylermacconnell217 The biggest reason I disagree with this is that the 7.3 engines are way too new to state. it's a good engine. Also, most of those trucks (gas wise) run to only a certain mileage and then sold off by these companies because they know they have to much trouble at too much mileage. They are not kept like a diesel would be, and the mileage in a diesel can be much higher with that much workload. Diesels like to work, gas like to cruise. Different purposes. Plus I'm speaking towards the RV industry. If you buy a class A engine. I would assume you want it for 10 years plus. That engine will not last that long with high mileage. Time will tell though.
Power stroke diesel motorhomes start around 20-25k more if you find he 2 or 3 that are made per year , then you got nonstop diesel regen issues ,injectors at 800-1000 each every 70-100k injector pump , 600$ water pumps and any other diesel premium added to those engines , oh and 5.90/6.20 gallon cost for that diesel here in socal and you have to keep that motorhome for 200,000 miles and 20 years to even that money out!

Not a good idea to take an RV to a big box RV dealer for drive-line work. A heavy-duty truck center dealership is best if you can find one.
A gasser Class A? That'll cost a fortune in fuel. I'm assuming the demographics for that are people who are intimidated with DEF, DPF's and regen.
