Living in Louisiana and Florida all my life 40+ years and being an outdoors lover and seeing a lot of snakes, that looks like the biggest moccasin I've ever seen.
@@dezmitchell5329 If the EDB is not very long, yes a moccasin can take it down. The EDB needs only to be about 80-90% of the Moccasins length. Then the moccasin can overpower it. If the EDB is of a decent size, the moccasin won't likely fuck with it. A snake is interested in killing something it can eat. Otherwise it wastes its venom and it takes a good deal of time before them sacks fill again.
All I could think after seeing the water moccasin chomp down on the rattle snake is that’s all those mosquitoes and bugs buzzing around the moccasin’s face would drive me crazy

Either way, cotton mouth would kill a rattle snake. It might die in the process but water moccasins do not care. They just want to kill. One was chasing me with a tail off.

I can't stand water moccasins. I was hit by one while hunting. I was wearing snake boots, but could see the venom running down the boot... I struck back with a 12 guage.

I have never understood how come venomous snakes choose to eat other venomous snakes and yet seem to be immune to the other venomous snake' s venom? Is it perhaps because venomous snakes are somehow immune to one another's venom?
The only place that I can think of that these two different snakes could cross paths is the Kansas/Oklahoma area. There are Timber Rattle snakes in that area, and Water Moccasins too. So I'm sure at some point they've ran into each other.
I don't know a lot about a lot of different snakes behavior, but a Water Moccasin IMO has one of the nastiest dispositions of any snake that I've encountered.

been watching a lot of these snake on snake videos, and a question occurred to me. if snakes track their prey by picking up a heat signal, and if snakes are cold blooded, is that why they can get so close to each other without being detected?

They’re the baddest of venomous snakes in America, but the speckled king snake is the best of them all when it comes to eating them !! Cotton Mouths stink really bad. They have a pungent odor. That’s why all of those flies were all over him ! Everyone I’ve ever seen and that’s several hundred always have flies all over them !
