    Living in Louisiana and Florida all my life 40+ years and being an outdoors lover and seeing a lot of snakes, that looks like the biggest moccasin I've ever seen.

      @@dezmitchell5329 If the EDB is not very long, yes a moccasin can take it down. The EDB needs only to be about 80-90% of the Moccasins length. Then the moccasin can overpower it. If the EDB is of a decent size, the moccasin won't likely fuck with it. A snake is interested in killing something it can eat. Otherwise it wastes its venom and it takes a good deal of time before them sacks fill again.

    What I don't understand, is why the rattler went right up to the larger Water Moccasin as if it didn't see it, while the Water Moccasin had no problem seeing it. No viper, or any predator is going to pass up prey that apparently wants to die. Actually the rattler is a rather large snake it's self and has been around long enough that it should have seen the danger! What a easy pray this was!! Dinner presented it's self.

    Is it a set up? The much smaller Rattler seems to simply walk to the huge Moccasin to be eaten! The Moccasin seemed to inject some venom into the Rattler to weaken it! What if a rattler bites a moccasin?

    Rattlesnakes aren’t snake eaters to begin with and doesn’t have much experience in fighting other snakes too. Plus this rattlesnake is juvenile. Also that’s a fully-grown cotton-mouth and a snake eater at that.

      Either way, cotton mouth would kill a rattle snake. It might die in the process but water moccasins do not care. They just want to kill. One was chasing me with a tail off.

      @@AlexSciChannel that isn't true. Most moccasins, maybe, but I've personally had experiences with them trying to attack me unprovoked. One timed it's falling from a branch into my boat. I would say it jumped into the boat but obviously... it fell gracefully we'll say and tried to strike. Thankfully my reaction avoided a situation.

    wow. never seen that before. plus, it's weird how those flies could either smell or sense death hovering over the rattler. it wasn't even dead yet. maybe the body releases a certain smell, or shits and pisses itself while at deaths door and the flies smell it

    I can't stand water moccasins. I was hit by one while hunting. I was wearing snake boots, but could see the venom running down the boot... I struck back with a 12 guage.

    The only place that I can think of that these two different snakes could cross paths is the Kansas/Oklahoma area. There are Timber Rattle snakes in that area, and Water Moccasins too. So I'm sure at some point they've ran into each other.

      I don't know a lot about a lot of different snakes behavior, but a Water Moccasin IMO has one of the nastiest dispositions of any snake that I've encountered.

    been watching a lot of these snake on snake videos, and a question occurred to me. if snakes track their prey by picking up a heat signal, and if snakes are cold blooded, is that why they can get so close to each other without being detected?

      @@brianjones808 it probably smelt the scent and was a more experienced 🐍. The rattle snake seemed to be young and not aware that other snakes eat snakes. Usually when you see 2 more adult snakes one takes off as it knows the other snake may attack it.

      Nah, moccasin is not affected by rattlesnake venom. This is a fairly rare meeting but the cottonmouth is definitely boss.

      They’re the baddest of venomous snakes in America, but the speckled king snake is the best of them all when it comes to eating them !! Cotton Mouths stink really bad. They have a pungent odor. That’s why all of those flies were all over him ! Everyone I’ve ever seen and that’s several hundred always have flies all over them !
