    In the east coast, you should try the Nasi Dagang, which is a rice dish (the type of rice used is different from nasi lemak) served traditionally with fish curry and Acar (pickled vegetable and fruits such as cucumber, pineapple and onions, this version of Acar is light and refreshing unlike another version known as Nyonya Acar, which has peanut and spicy sauce).
    Food places in Malaysia are pretty innovative to try to differentiate themselves from each other. The second Nasi Lemak you guys had was done in ‘Nasi Pattaya’-style (Nasi Pattaya is fried rice wrapped in an omelette, pretty popular at Warungs/ stalls in Malaysia)
    There’s also Sata Ikan, a kind of fish paste snack wrapped in leaves cooked over fire. And of course, Keropok, another fish paste snack deep-fried- the thin version is crispy, the thicker version (Keropok Lekor) has a more chewy bite. Both serve with mainly chilly sauce and you probably can find them at stalls that serve banana fritters (Pisang Goreng)
    The reason many of the food in Kelantan, Trengganu and Pahang is fish-based- The east coast of Peninsula Malaysia has many fishermen and businesses based on fish and seafood products.

    YES!! IF YOU WANT AN AUTHENTIC TRADITIONAL MALAY DISH EAST COAST IS WHERE YOU MUST GO! MOST OF THE SOUTH AND WEST COAST OF THE PENINSULA ALSO HAVE TRADITIONAL MALAY DISH BUT MOST OF IT ALREADY BEEN FUSION BECAUSE WEST COAST WAS THE CENTER FOR MIGRATION FROM ALL OVER ASIA AND THE WORLD, BUT EAST COAST IS VERY PURE AND HAVE LESS INFLUENCED FROM OTHER IMMIGRANT CULTURE AND FOOD, SO YOU CAN GET A LOT MORE AUTHENTIC MALAY DISH IN THE EAST COAST AND IT WILL BLOW YOUR MINDS ON HOW DIFFERENT IT IS FROM THE WEST COAST EVEN THOU IT IS ON THE SAME PENINSULA.

    If you dislike spicy sambal you can request to reduce a bit the sambal. We asian are really enjoying spicy sambal 🤣🤣🤣 without spicy food is not kicking, you know 🤣🤣🤣… so net time request from seller to reduce the amount of sambal for your nasi lemak. Take extra beef rendang or squid or fried chicken for replacement.

    • @EllisWR
      @EllisWR  ปีที่แล้ว

      My friend watch our videos for me the spicier the better. I actually asked for a whole second scoop of the sambal it was so good. This place served the spiciest I've had so far in Malaysian! 🇲🇾

    • @bazmsc
      @bazmsc ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@EllisWR ok… i went through your video, i think your stomach has used to spicy foods since you’ve visited thailand. Tom yam in thailand is spicier, if you mistakenly eat the small green chili, it’ll burn up your mouth 🤣🤣🤣. Ok since you’re ok with spicy food i would recommend you to try masak lemak cili api, this type of side dish is very popular in negeri sembilan. If you come to state of negeri sembilan you can try this side dish. If you contact me i can bring you to nearby restaurants to try masak lemak cili api. They’re masak lemak cili api chicken, fish or meat and I recommend to try all.
