Great list. Also Jos. A Bank, Lacoste, Clarks. Rainbow brand flip flops for the southern preppies. Patagonia, north face, and Mountain Hardwear jackets.
I’m a little bit surprised that you didn’t put Ralph Lauren into classic British. I’ve always felt the classic British vibe when you look at the blazers or knit sweaters you can wear with a blouse. For me LR was always one of the best sources to create the classic British style. But I understand your point. It also goes very well with the more business-preppy-New-York-look
Yeah I do get what you mean! Especially the vintage Ralph Lauren adverts have a very British feel. I think a great thing about this style of fashion is that there are many different sub-styles, but at the end of the day it all looks very classic. A RL blazer for example would look great for a NY preppy look or styled in the more classic British style! 😄
This is so different from central europe but of course some are well known here as well like Ralph Lauren, Brooks Brothers and Ted Baker. And you are right people often complain too much about nothing. Of course instagram is often hyper aesthetic and not realistic especially when it is about branding.
Yes I agree! Kiel and Sarah are obviously very talented and creative people who put a lot of hard work into their Instagram and branding - it is essentially a kind of art form at this point. And although I know people love to see transparency and “real life” on social media, it is okay to want to see pretty and aesthetic things too!
Preppy style, which made its presence in the mass media in films like John Hughes had EVERYONE all over the world wearing plaid, navy blazers with brass buttons, boat shoes, Madras and MONOGRAMS! Who didn't have at least one piece that was considered "prep"? To this day, that is my "go to" look. Thanks for making this video.🙂
Love John Hughes (Planes, Trains & Automobiles is one of my all time favourites!) I have an "80s preppy" video in the works, so will definitely include the items you mentioned 😄
Hiya, Fab. The thing I like most about your channel is that you do not overlay music onto your videos. At least not the ones that I've seen. Thank you.
LOVE your channel, just found you! 😍 I'm a CT girl, born in Southeastern CT and still living here! My husband is a nautical captain so we love our preppy, New England brands, though he's more Woolrich kind of New England 😂. Here's a few others that are common here. *LL Bean is definitely a classic especially vintage pieces! *The Black Dog is super local vibes and very common here *New England Shirt Co.
Aw thank you lovely! So glad you’ve found my channel 💕 Haven’t heard of The Black Dog or New England Shirt Co so will definitely be checking them out! 😄
The quality of Brooks Brothers has declined drastically in the last few years. The have also cut their selection of classic items, like blazers, down to almost nothing. There’s not much left of interest for me there, but pre-owned pieces made up until about 2000 are nice. The turn of the millennium was when polyester and acrylic began to dominate even better-quality brands like this. I so miss the quality of clothing from my young adulthood, the 80s-90s. Wool clothing and outerwear was standard, as were breathable linings.
The Lauren James bow on those dresses are absolutely iconic. Wear or find someone else to date, LOL. Too bad they went out of business. You went over the most popular ones everyone knows about. These brands are amazing, don't get me wrong, but there are brands like J McLaughlin, Cordings of Piccadilly, and Le Tricoteur that are hard-core prep/old school that many have never heard of.
I’m surprised Loveshackfancy hasn’t been on your channel because they have such feminine, floral pieces. Do you have an opinion on the brand? Lately I’ve gotten a few pieces from them that I just love because they’re so girly & classic!
I have a Draper James wicker bag with her signature blue handles and straps. Every time I wear it someone will ask about the bag. Way more than designer bags that I’ve spent way more to buy.
Great suggestions Sherry! I made a part 2 to this video with 19 more brands, and some of these brands you have suggested are included. You can watch it on my channel if you would like 😊
All fun and all but the best preppy brand is my dad! yes I steal his clothes because his clothes are too big for me and it's the easiest way for me to get free clothes and I like oversized items.
Ahaha I love it!! I will go into anyone's wardrobe and snatch stuff lol I recently took one of my Dad's old blazers and fashioned it into an oversize blazer for me. As you say, best way to get free clothes! hehe
Great video! I recently found your channel and have been going through your older content. I wanted to like Draper James and my first purchase was pajamas. It was my fault for not thoroughly reading the description but was extremely disappointed to receive them and discover they were 100% polyester! You can’t wear polyester in the South - you will die from the heat! $68 for polyester pajamas made me feel like the Reese’s venture was a cash grab. If you want poly PJs go to Walmart and spend $10. So disappointing!
Oh no!! I despise polyester pjs too, the fabric feels so awful and sticky 😖 I must admit that I haven't shopped at Draper James much over the pandemic, so I hope that the quality isn't declining... that would be a great shame as the designs are so cute! x
Kiel James Patrick first stated that they are made only in the USA because they like classic American Culture but then when you get their products, it is actually made in China. Maybe they were made in the USA but when they moved to make their items in China, their prices should have dropped. Products made in China are always low quality. So In a way I think the criticism is justified. I have a few of their products and I am happy with them but they are overpriced for the quality. Second, they have poor reviews from their own employees how they are treated. Also, they really don't really wear their products they promote according to citizens in their local community so they are just fake, which again most people don't like. Most people dont like being lied too.
Watch PART 2 with 19 MORE preppy brands! ➡️th-cam.com/video/9WsmC6bZfYc/w-d-xo.html

Because it’s American sweetheart.
RL is as authentic British as his surname? Is button-down British?
I love Preppy....my go to style.....thank you!
Glad you love preppy too! Thanks for watching! 😄
You should do a video about the preppiest towns
Ooh what a fun idea! Thanks so much for the suggestion 😄
Rhode island maybe
Marblehead, Mass...for sailing and Cape Cod for sailing of course.
I often buy RL vintage esp blazers and I treasure then sometimes I find sweaters vintage rarely the shirts.
Nantucket
I’m glad that you mentioned Kiel James Patrick. I remember when he only made a few belts and a couple of bracelets.
This is so different from central europe but of course some are well known here as well like Ralph Lauren, Brooks Brothers and Ted Baker. After watching this video, I purchases a sweater from Kiel James Patrick and I love it! Thanks for introducing this brand to me!
Nice! So glad you found a new brand to shop at! I’m curious to know what the quality of the sweater is like?
Whoah I am so glad to have discovered your channel, I absolutely ADORE the preppy style, this is so perfect 💖
Welcome!! So glad you found my channel 💕✨

I just found you on youtube and i see u dont post often i hope you get to do more videos love your energy and all your suggestions :) God bless
I’m surprised you didn’t mention L.L. Bean for northern prep
Right. A sin!
Hiya, Fab. The thing I like most about your channel is that you do not overlay music onto your videos. At least not the ones that I've seen. Thank you.
Great video! :) another one for me would be Abercrombie
I really enjoyed your video! I think Barbour, LL Bean and JCrew are are good preppy brands :)
Thanks Pamela 💕 I will be putting up a preppy brands part 2 next week, and I will include your suggestions! xx
Woolrich, Eddie Bauer, vintage
I love the J Crew popped collar blazer style...I.own a camel one I wear constantly with RL.pieces. I am on the lookout for others as staples.
And you can get monogrammed bags from LL Bean.
Yes to monograms...very Southern preppy!
What is your lipstick

What, no Talbots?
Lily James Jack should definitely sell items for men as well, I’m buying!
Oh we’ll do menswear, womenswear, childrens, pets, homewares, stationary, you name it! We’ll have it all! 😂
I never heard of Vinyard Vines until I moved to Florida and so many old money families wear that brand there, specifically in South Tampa, Florida.
You did an amazing job on this video! I found myself smiling at so many parts. I love it! Thank you so much!❤
Some additions: Barbour, Hunter, Gretchen Scott

L.L. Bean is a classic preppy Maine/ New England brand.
Abercrombie and Hollister. Also Gap and old navy. J crew. Jc penny.
Great suggestions! A few of these I included in a part 2 video I made 😊
I love J.Crew!!

followed on instagram too !!!! 😁
Yay!! 📸
Great video, quite informative!
Newport Beach Cali plus Santa Barbara
I have a Draper James wicker bag with her signature blue handles and straps. Every time I wear it someone will ask about the bag. Way more than designer bags that I’ve spent way more to buy.
I think “Lily James Jack” you mentioned might actually work. You can abbreviate it. Like Lily JJ or LJJ, or something like that.
Thanks for your info, I had no idea of lots of the designers. Now I'm off to Happy shopping,!!!💜
New Subbie 🙃
That’s great to hear Sasha! Happy shopping 🛍 I’m sure you’ll find some super cute things!! 😍
You’re totally underrated.
Haha thanks James!
Please do a video on southern preppy looks
Yes for sure! ❤️
For sure my vibe.
Instant subscribe.
And I'm not even a girl.
Haha thanks Bo!! You are very welcome here on my channel whether or not you’re a girl! 😊✨
This is AWSOME!!!!
All my T-shirt’s are Jack Wills, so comfortable and durable
Love Jack Wills! Their stuff holds up well 😄
preppy with a flow is the best
What about Tommy Hilfiger, LL Bean, J. Crew and Sag Harbour?
Great suggestions Sherry! I made a part 2 to this video with 19 more brands, and some of these brands you have suggested are included. You can watch it on my channel if you would like 😊
Love this video!
Thank you! I'm so glad you enjoyed it! 💕✨
Love it.
You posted this on my birthday lol.... I think it's a sign
Yes - copywrite it, save the handles on social media. Lilly James Jack sounds super posh
I have the original gold Jack Rogers
The jelly
The rain boat
The loafer
The duck boot
The bootie
Hahahah jelly plastic!! I hate it too. In england also HOLAND COOPER loooove iiiit😍😍

Thanks Jhilmil! 🙂

I am not complaining about the green, all the opposite. A week of preppy green outfits!
Don't tempt meeeee haha 🍏🐛💚
@@FabSakker DO IT! If you agree, I promise to dress up more decently. 🤣 Weeb t-shirts and denim shorts need an upgrade anyways.
I enjoyed your blog ... 🍒🇦🇺
Thank you Melanie! 🥰
But graphic t-shirts aren’t as preppy as wearing polos or just a nice tennis dress. One must keep that in mind.

Laura Ashley might be another brand
Yes I love Laura Ashley! ❤️
ojala hubieran subtitulos en español
Do I hear a bit of South Africa in your accent ?
Haha nope! Australian 😊
Hunter and Barbour are looking at you like “are we a joke to you?”
What about Patagonia??
That’s a great suggestion! I have thought of even more brands since filming this video so I might do a part 2 🙂
Is it really “k’eye’el” or is it “keeeel”? I’ve been saying “keeeel” for so long!
Now that you’ve brought it up… I actually don’t know 😂 I just thought it was a different way of spelling Kyle
There’s a Murray’s Toggery sized hole in this list…
You missed L L Bean
Not Ralph Lau-REN. It is Lauren.
I’m aware. I’ve heard it both ways and this is just the way I’ve always pronounced it.
I’ve heard it’s interchangeable.
@@Jjjjose449 it’s not - it’s someone’s name.
@@FabSakker never too late to start pronouncing it correctly - it’s someone’s name and always sounds very poseur when people pronounce it that way.
@@sarahterry2140 yeah. The emphasis is on the first syllable of the second name. Lifshitz is his real last name, btw.
Jack Wills is totally not preppy or popular in the UK. I definitely perefer Hollister

Someone forgot Johnnie-O
Hey Griffin! I was actually focusing on women’s preppy brands in this video but Johnnie O is a great suggestion for men! 😊
J Press
I doubt that this is not preppy at all and it makes sense Bc it’s coming from you.
When your looking for the other kind of preppy…
Think I never saw something as disturbing as this bear sweater...
It’s pronounced LAUR-en. Listen to how he pronounce his name himself.
