Also an up and coming Preppy Style company is a British company called JOULES. Think: wellies, sailor rain jackets, stripes, floral dresses, beachy sweatshirts....excellent quality, not crazy expensive, sold in US, totally recommend! I got myself a pair of wellies with cute dog patterns on them - get a TON of compliments every single time I wear them!
My clothes for kindergarten came from the original Talbot’s store in my home town of Hingham, back when it was not just adult clothing and there was only one store. The quality was very high back then (50s/60s and even early 70s) when they were independent - lots of gorgeous Shetland sweaters, etc. Now it is more mass merchandise.
Shout out to Talbots. My favorite straw bag came from Talbots about 15 years ago and I still carry it! Besides Ralph Lauren and Tory Burch, Talbots is my go to brand. I agree, it is directed more for 30+ age but it has never strayed too far from its original preppy roots which I love. Also Murray's Toggery Shop on Nantucket. Who doesn't love a Nantucket red pair of jeans!
I love that! That is why I love the preppy style so much because it doesn’t go with trends - you can still be wearing your straw bag 15 years later and it looks just as stylish 😊 I have not heard of Murray’s Toggery Shop but it sounds right up my alley! Thank you for the suggestion, I will check it out! x
Some more are The Black Dog, Charter Club, Chaps, Naurica. Also I love the Talbots sweaters. The Tort Burch Sandals are very popular with the prepsters in New England.
Great suggestions - thank you! 💕 I love the Tory Burch sandals, they are very classic! I would love to get a pair eventually but I’m pretty happy with the Jack Rogers ones I have now 😊 xx
As a Texan girl who loves pearls, dresses and ballet flats Mon-Fri, but also loves hiking and camping (in Colorado it’s way too hot and flat here 😂) , I thoroughly appreciate this list!!! Finally my Patagonia & Columbia can belong in my normal life! Love your channel, gal!
Hahah yes I feel you!! My week days are bows, gingham print and sweet tees, and then my weekends are cowboy hats and cowboy boots lol! Thanks for watching lovely 💕🥰✨
Some more British ones: Joules, Crew Clothing Co., and Toggi. Burberry is classic preppy but unattainable for me, but I’ve scored beautiful pieces second hand or heavily discounted Great insight into American preppy- I didn’t realise there was such a variety across the country as in the different areas have their own preppy look
Hey! Thanks for the great video. I live in Southern Prep territory here in the states and your description, in my opinion , of southern prep is right on. I just visited King Street in Charleston, SC a few days ago on my way to Florida, and I love the Collard Greens shop there. They have tons of cute southern style t-shirts that I love for my son, not to mention the great ties and bow ties. Great little brand.
Land’s End is another good preppy brand, similar to L.L. Bean. Sporty/athleisure/gym wear is the most popular style up here in Marin, brands like Patagonia, Columbia, Eddie Bauer. I don’t wear it much, it’s too casual and synthetic fiber fabrics, like polyester, dominate. The local uniform is black or gray gym wear for every occasion, not my thing. The other “acceptable” look is jeans, black tank and flip-flops, Birkies or sneakers. This is a county full of dark, drab, look-alikes where color, pattern, individuality or creativity in fashion is considered bad taste, one must look as if they don’t care, but they do, deeply, about the “right brand”, for example.
Also, did you mention Draper James in any of your videos? It is a Southern Prep: cute dresses, lots of florals, stirpes and plaids...traditional colors and cuts...definitely check it out! (Reese Witherspoon started this company just a few years back, but its already very well know throughout the US)
I just discovered your channel and it's honestly way to underrated!🌷🌷🌷 I really love your enthusiastic and informative videos on preppy fashion, hope to see more in the future ! 💌 p.s.: Maybe a closet tour?
Aww thank you so much beautiful!! That honestly means so much to me 💕 I have lots of fun and preppy video ideas for the channel! A closet tour is such a good idea too. I've been meaning to do a closet clear out so that would be perfect timing to show my wardrobe! xx 🦋💕🥰
Ok, so I am just getting into the whole preppy aesthetic, not to fully embrace it because I don't feel it is a 100% my vibe but to combine it with my usual romantic, cottagecore, pieces, with lots of vibrant colors and see what I can get. I have been getting advertisements of all these brands that I am not sure if would classify as preppy but I do see the inspiration: - Original Penguin - Ferrioni (which I love) - Dockers - Scappino - Harmont & Blaine - Nautica/Perry Ellis - HPC Polo - Hollister - Aeropostale I would like to know your opinions in this!
I probably know about half of those brands - I have some catching up to do! And I think it's great that you mix and combine aesthetics! Sometimes I certainly feel a bit boxed in like I can only dress in one style, when it really doesn't have to be the case. There's so many subcultures and mixtures of aesthetics to do, and I have to remind myself that fashion is supposed to be a fun expression of personality and creativity so why not experiment! ♥️💕✨
Also.....😅....kind of repeating myself... there is this very cute, fairly new New England (Maine based) company called Paul Landry....gives out huge KJP vibes. Excellent quality, locally sourced and made. Check them out!
I'm a 77 year old women and have been buying Vera Bradley handbags and totes since 1990. I'm stuck on those vintage bags. They have French Provincial prints. I own two totes, pink and blue and red, blue, blue and white small duffle bags. I wear them all the time and just love them! Hate the current designs. Sorry Happily the vintage bags are available on eBay. Yay! Check them out.
Yes, I do have to agree with you, I do not like any of the prints they currently have! I’ve noticed their designs have gone very dark… I like the colorful florals! Maybe I should look on eBay for some vintage designs - that is a great tip 💕 I have also bought some nice vintage Lilly Pulitzer pieces from eBay
Is there a more economical wax jacket that has a similar model to Barbour? I love it but the price tag (over $300) isn’t in my budget at the moment. Is it worth the price?
I tried on the most beautiful jacket from Dubarry of Ireland a couple of years ago and still regret buying it!! Love both these suggestions - very classic and timeless! Thank you ❤️💕
I binge watched your videos, and for some reason you are leaving out the number one fall & winter staple : Corduroy! What about that? Are you against the groove cloth? :)
Hello Gloria! So pleased to have you watching 🙂I have attempted to add Italian subtitles to this video for you! I am not sure how accurate they will be haha but hopefully they are helpful xx
Omg, thank you for Patagonia! I live in an outdoorsy town. So of you wear Patagonia, you are hot 😀 I own a lot of Patagonia clothing.., cute, great quality and doesn’t look cheap..,, oh wait, it’s not cheap😀
Patagonia has some really cute things but yes, it definitely isn't cheap! I am at the point in my life though where I would rather pay a bit more for a quality piece that will last 🙈💕
Starting with Patagonia, do West Coast style…

L.L. Bean has the best flannel lined jeans. You can turn the cuff up and show some cheeky tartan.
They do?! I will have to check them out... sounds lovely and warm too 😄

Lacoste was the preppy brand polo to own in the 1980’s. If you finally acquired the alligator logo polo-you arrived! 🥳

@@FabSakker I agree 100%. True classic preppy never goes out of style. Check out Murray's. Thanks for your channel. I love it!

@@FabSakker i hear ya, i have neither, but I basically live in sperrys and keds. Lol. Eventually I'll invest.
YES.Talbots and J Crew their pooped colar boazer is perfect. Combines well with my RL pieces.

When I think of LL Bean I just think of the backpacks my parents made me get from them in elementary school - when I really wanted a Vera Bradley one
Awwww noooo haha I would SO rather a pretty Vera Bradley backpack over an LL Bean one too 😂
Why do I love this so much?! Preppy is frowned upon where I live but I DO NOT CARE!

I just found out that ORTC is actually an Aussie company from Adelaide. It surprised me because I didn't think the preppy look was big over here.
Like them lilac loafers l agree with the logo comments.

Thank you babe! Thanks again for the suggestions they were great! xx 💕✨
What do you think about Blair Waldorf's style on Gossip Girl? Is she Preppy?
Yes Blair is definitely preppy! She is New England/ sassy New York prep to a tee! xx

Hmmm maybe try Joules?
What about Sag Harbour? I have a button-down midi-length floral skirt. I was told it was preppy from the Hampton's.
Sag Harbor is another great suggestion! Definitely classic New England preppy 😊
What about Dubarry of Ireland and liberty of London? Loved those videos!!!

The groove cloth 😂 Haha definitely not against it but don't own any corduroy at the moment! Gotta get my hands on some!!
Banana Republic?
Aw sweet Julie Engel.so sad for her...great girl beautiful things...Gal Meets Glam...miss her.
I love your videos! can you please put italian subtitles?
Hello Gloria! So pleased to have you watching 🙂I have attempted to add Italian subtitles to this video for you! I am not sure how accurate they will be haha but hopefully they are helpful xx
I had to laugh at your opening comment - I thought you were talking about me. And yes, you did include the ones I mentioned. Great video.
Haha! Thanks for watching Sherry, glad you enjoyed! 💕✨
You like my preppy blue blazer ?
More of basics line but omitting Lands End seems like a crime.
awesome thanks !
Are you a Britton living in the US?
I’m Australian! 🐨
Again, no LL Bean! Do you not like the brand? They were in the preppy hand book
She mentions them at 14:56
