    Damn! I’ll just never understand the amount of whining people spew about Zen enclosures. How lazy/hapless/clueless are some of them?! Yes, you gotta put it together (shipping a complete enclosure…come on). Yes, the plexiglas will scratch. Yes, you have to pay attention to the instructions. But…jeeezus. Grow up or don’t buy one.
    I just came here to complete my second Zen Habitat. My first was in 2019 and that habitat was a snap to put together and is still going strong.
    This new one went together just as easily. They look great stacked and I’m very happy. I really believe Zen enclosures are THE BEST on the market, not just for ease of use and cleaning and aesthetics, but how they are for the -animals living in them-. I honestly wouldn’t consider buying anything else. I may only have two beardies, but they are -very- well-cared for and I consider my Zen enclosures key in those efforts, along with proper lighting, nutrition, enrichment and my veterinarians.

    Just assembled our new one. Works very well so far. Just an FYI to Zen. If you folks changed manufacturers on the mesh top, the rivets no longer fit into the channels and they stick out a bit. However we still made it work without having to do any cutting/dremel.

    I got this exact one... the plastic corners are evil, and I hurt myself trying to hammer them in, whacked myself right in the wrist, gee it hurts. The wood panels won't just meet flushly with the metal bars, you hammer in one side, another comes out. I might consider using some superglue to get it, glue and hammer the corners one at a time, glue in the panels, something cuz this is turning into a frustrating nightnare real fast and I just wanted to get my beardie a decent home

    • @AnnaMalice
      @AnnaMalice 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I cried like a baby while assembling it for this very reason. I ended up taking gorilla glue (liquid) along all the seams once it was someone together- at least the best I could do- and then caulked all seams when that dried

    • @zenhabitats

      We would recommend going with PVC just due to the humidity needs of a corn snake. The Wood could warp or swell due to added misting.

      I literally just set mine up today. Seems like all of these are old comments from years ago so I’ll do an updated review on the set up process. (Side note : if the same problems are occurring years later, it’s an issue that’s carelessly being overlooked)
      It is a little tough connecting them but they do literally tell you to use a mallet. I’ve seen other companies that provide the mallet (which would be lovely if @zenhabitats did) but I don’t have a mallet just lying around so I had to improv and use a hammer. Surprisingly the hammer didn’t dint anything and was still difficult to put together .

Also it took longer to get the protective stickers off the doors then to build the whole habitat. Probably should have built this when my husband was home and got him to do that part lol. Our 4’x2’x2’ PVC enclosures are perfect for ball pythons. They provide plenty of room for you to create proper lighting and temperature gradients. They also hold humidity well and won’t warp due to any moisture from mistings. They also give some vertical space should you want to provide any climbing opportunities for some enrichment.

      For an alternative to the original substrate tape, you can use weatherstripping or door seals to create a barrier that prevents the substrate from getting into the doors. Foam weatherstripping tape, available at most hardware stores, works well and is easy to apply. Just cut it to fit along the bottom edge of the doors to keep the substrate in place.
