      Heart Of Ice is literally the best episode.... :o
      When they put the Grey Ghost at #2 I was like "yea, okay, it makes sense that Heart Of Ice is #1" and then it wasn't....

      I dunno about that, but it IS widely recognized as THE best episode of the entire series.
      That part of why it's so bizarre that it's NOWHERE on this list.

    One of my favorite episodes was called Joker's Favor. I loved how after two years, Joker still have the driver's license of the guy who begged for his life and hunted him down so he could claim the favor the guy owed him.

    Wow, I wouldn't pick most of these. Just goes to show how good this show really is: there's so much good that everybody has a different list that's just as right.
    I'd say my favorites are Heart of Ice, The Man Who Killed Batman, The Clock King, Double Talk, Joker's Millions, Growing Pains, Over the Edge, The Demon Within, Mad Love, and Beware the Creeper.

    Great picks but I like "See no Evil", "Heart of Ice" and "Feat of Clay". "Beware the Grey Ghost" and "His silicon soul" are also high up on my own personal list too! The animation in the first episode of the Two-Face introduction is fantastic too, and the "ghost-car" scene in "See no Evil" is some of the best animation work from the series.

    Yes! So glad to see Beware the Gray Ghost so high up on the list. It too is my favorite episode of BTAS. I love older films and this episode did a really great job combining a film noir style with adventure serials in the flashbacks, and overall tone of the episode. Plus, I'm a huge fan of Adam West, so hearing his voice in a BTAS episode, was about as good as it gets. :D

    I don't know about but i think that Gary Oldman could be a great older interpretation of the mad hatter. Yes i know he has already been in Batman movies before, but I just think that he shines much more in his smaller and crazier roles. Like in: Harry Potter: and the prisoner of azkaban, Sid and Nancy, True Romance etc.

    In addition to all the Harley-centric episodes, I absolutely love the tragic stories they come up for Clayface: "Feat of Clay" (I & II), "Mudslide" and "Growing Pains." Also, "Joker's Millions" is probably the flat-out funniest episode of the series.

  • @jerekheadrick3379
    @jerekheadrick3379 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Baby doll was such a great episode for me. As a kid it made me realize that not all "bad guys" are bad intentionally. That is a powerful and complex message to get across to children.

    • @CynderSpirit
      @CynderSpirit 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Almost all of the Batman villians made me realize that bad guys are still people as well just something bad happened to them in life that made them turn to crime. Harley is brain washed by the Joker, Two-Face was under a lot of stress and later had half of his face blown off, Mr.Freeze is heart broken because of his wife, both Penguin and Killer Coc are deformed, and Joker finds no meaning in life (I'm pretty sure he has his story we just will never know).

    • @shinomichan5782

    • @CynderSpirit
      @CynderSpirit 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Shinomi Chan I've seen and read the Killing Joke however that doesn't mean it's Joker's official story. In Mask of the Phantasm it's pretty clear he was already a criminal and was already killing people before he fell into the tank full of chemicals. The fact that his story keeps changing still makes Joker's back story a mystery.

  • @gollum1ring
    @gollum1ring 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    I'm so thankful that even if it didn't make it into the Top 10, "Almost Got 'em" still got an honorable mention. It was such a wonderfully atypical episode that I think they would try to replicate once or twice a season (although the only one that came close is "Harley & Ivy"). Seeing the various villains in a room together just having wonderful interactions and trading "work stories," flirting, and calling each other out on their stupid shit is just so much fun even if it is a pretty simple premise. And Catwoman's call back to the episode title at the end is kind of perfect.
    I would love to see you do a top 10 of X-Men TAS or Gargoyles.

  • @R1ch4d8
    @R1ch4d8 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    So glad somebody finally mentioned "Paging the Crime Doctor" and "It's Never Too Late".
    I always thought "Tyger, Tyger" was a really underrated episode. It's kinda silly but I always found the last scene absolutely heartbreaking.

  • @kirara2516
    @kirara2516 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    2. I think its cool how they had TAS Batman say he looked up to the Grey Ghost and that he said he was his hero, which it a nod to the fact that Adam West was the first TV Batman and was giving respect to it. I don't like the original series, but I respect it for what it inspired.

    My favorite episode has to be "Almost Got 'Em." You have several of the villains just sitting around, playing poker and swapping stories about the times they almost snuffed out Batman. It's full of hilarious moments, equal parts relaxed and dramatic, and it's fun to see the various villains' approaches to crime compared and contrasted with each other (the Aviary of Doom commentary is the best!). I also love the ending and the subtle buildup to it.
    Personally, I'd like to see a Top 10 Red Hood Moments/Stories/whatever. Jason Todd is my favorite comic character, and he just doesn't get the attention he deserves. Could you give him some love, please?

  • @lorenschroeder9399
    @lorenschroeder9399 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    Well being that Roddy McDowell voiced the Mad Hatter and he played Cesar/Cornelius in the original Planet of the Apes, what if Andy Serkis (in live action) played the Mad Hatter.... My all time favorite episode of BTAS is "Second Chance". It is extremely overlooked, but it adds so much depth to Two Face's character and makes his story so much more interesting than it already is

  • @dragonpro3
    @dragonpro3 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    I would have probably put "Almost Got 'Im" as my number 1 :)
    Mostly, I have a bit of nostalgia goggles for this one but I just remember the great set up of Batman's most notorious baddies sitting around playing poker with the Joker (forgive the pun) and talking about all the close-calls they had with besting their detective adversary. The comedy is well timed, the pacing is steady and never keeps you bored, and the animation is dynamic with expressions.

    For me personally the Mr Freeze and Two Face episodes deserve to be in there- in the former it was because it completely retconned the character (in the best possible way!) and in the latter because the idea is so fascinating, the fact that the basis of Two Face was always there.
    In terms of comic book cartoon top 10s I would suggest- 1. Top 10 non Batman cartoon DCs 2. Top 10 X-Men animated episodes (I'd say you could include Wolverine and the X-Men and Evolution to mix it up) 3. Top 10 Marvel cartoon episodes (Spiderman and Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes) 4. Top 10 Goofiest Comic Cartoon Moments 5. Top 10 Best Adaptations

      Martin Freeman! That's a great casting choice! Yes!

  • @RandomShinigami7

    Why do they keep bringing up the sex scene from The Killing Joke animated movie? It's not canon with B:TAS. Yes Conroy, Hamill, and Strong reprise their roles of Batman, Joker, and Batgirl, but it is not canon. So... why bring it up? It's like bringing up the nipple suits from the Shumachar films every time Batman's chest is on screen.
    Anyway, the Laughing Fish is my favourite episode, although that's largely because not only was it the first B:TAS episode I watched but it was also my introduction to Batman. I think it's interesting how they managed to take copyright claims, and make it actually entertaining for children to watch. Admittedly they stopped that part of it very quickly and went to Joker poisoning everyone but still.

    • @ieyke

      I was coming here to write the exact same thing. It makes no sense. It would be like complaining about how Nolan didn't incorporate continuity from Burton's universe. They're two different things. You can't complain like they're the same thing.

    • @0redbishop0
      @0redbishop0 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      They keep bringing it up because they feel some sense of ownership of the Bat man brand, which is really sad. I've noticed a lot of comic book fans have this sense that the characters they read can only ever have the characteristics they read early on. Just look at all the uproar around Batman killing people in the movies even though Keaton was killing grunts left and right in the 80's and 90's and none had a problem then. Comic book nerds now feel they OWN their characters and God forbid anyone try something new with them. It's really sad actually.

    1). The Mad Hatter could be played by Mike White.
    2). Another top ten BTAS list without mention of Kyodai Ken. He wasn't looking to take out Batman. He was looking to settle a longstanding grudge with Bruce Wayne, from back when Wayne was still in training. And, as a HIGHLY skilled ninja assassin/thief, he came quite close to succeeding. Out of all the rogues featured on BTAS, I feel Kyodai Ken had the most personal tie to the Dark Knight. So Night of the Ninja (ep#35) and Day of the Samurai (ep#44) would definitely be in my top ten.

    I would recommend "Dark Night: A True Batman Story", a graphic novel that came out earlier this year by Paul Dini, it acts as an autobiography, but it's so much more and I think you guys would enjoy it, the art is amazing.

    Peter MacNicol for Mad Hatter. He voiced him really well in Arkham City.

  • @cypher515

    The only thing I have to add is, Michael McKean was a thoroughly acceptable Romero!Joker in Legends. Was that the only time (after Curry, I think I recall) that Hamill didn't voice the Joker in the DCAU?

  • @MistuhRobe
    @MistuhRobe 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    The hatter's been portrayed as a delusional nutcase in the Arkham game
    series, but also a vengeful, misguided intellectual in TAS. But there
    are other ways you can have the hatter- a sociopath who takes his tech
    for granted, in the same vein as David Tenant's Killgrave (aka Purple
    Man) from Jessica Jones. Or perhaps as a mysterious serial killer? There are possibilities.
    If Johnny Depp hadn't done the Burton Wonderland films, then him for sure.
    It'd be cool to see Peter Dinklage as the Hatter. Sure, Dinklage is mostly known for being calm, collected, and well-spoken. But he did angry well enough in Elf. It'd be interesting (to say the least) to see him go all-out as a villain.
    Or perhaps Daniel Radcliffe? He'd start off as timid well enough. Just imagining his voice getting creepy like in the Arkham games is unsettling enough.

    You guys do know that Jim Gordon is the same age as Bruce Wayne's father in The Animated Series, don't you?
    The whole Batman Batgirl relationship is bad but a lot of that is because of how much Batgirl's backstory was changed after this show and Batman Beyond.

    I remember I was really disappointed in "Over the Edge" because I was super hoping they could introduce Oracle and Babs as this awesome genius hacker/comp sci expert. Like, this was the perfect opportunity and it would've been far more kid-friendly than the canon. Plus, it's not like BTAS exactly kept to the canon so they totally could've done it. Also, how awesome would it be to have 1) a permanently disabled character-as in one that doesn't somehow fix their disability so everything resets by the end-who's still a hero, still fighting crime, still genuinely being awesome; and 2) a lady working in a STEM field because that was pretty much fucking NOWHERE in the '90s in general, much less in a kids' show. Like, this could've been groundbreaking!!!! But alas, they didn't do it.
