A DIY h2o just add water mermaid top!
dragon skin silicone is always recommanded if you can afford it!!

Awesome intro! I wish I watched this before I made mine
it looks good. tip: use a paint thinner to thin down the silicone to create a paint. artist paint solvent is a betta option as its not as harsh as the industrial stuff. keep in mind that you can try any paint thinner if you like but always do tests first as some solvents scan cause the silicone to not cure.

I bought the modelling clay, I made my mold for the caudal fin/the fluke with it and I will buy the pigments and the silicone very soon! :)

I just learned u can put scales on selicone cuz on every other videos for tails and stuff to put scales u can only put it on neoprene!
I think the take alway is that your fabric needs to be strong for a tail. I’ve sewn sequins onto tulle for tops.

i have to ask this. can you directly put a silicon into a polyester fabric? i have bought polyester tail and i want to cover it with silicon is that ok?
I don’t have much experience with polyester. But I would say, try out a small part. And if that works, continue on!

It looks amazing but I am very concerned with the amount of caulk you have used. Caulk shouldn’t be used to make mermaid tails it isn’t regulated or made for skin and can be extremely toxic. It’s generally agreed upon in the Mermaid community that the only acceptable caulk is GE clear 100% silicone 1 and it’s only ok in small amounts for repairs and stuff and should be left for days before submerging in water
Hi Haley! Thank you for the concern! I personally never had issues with using my silicone caulk, but I understand that dragon skin silicone is always better to use! I’ll change the description to recommend it! Someone should make a good “silicone in a bottle, that is safe to make tails with” and that isn’t super expensive! I’m going to use dragon skin silicone in my next silicone tail tutorial :)
Also I’ll look into the GE clear 100% silicone and e6000 :)

I love these types of videos on this channel! Could you do more of these videos? Would be really cool! E.g. Could you show the chains that appear in the first season of H2O Suddenly Mermaid how to make them. Or you could show how to make the moon rings in Mako Easy Mermaid. Whoever thinks they should make such videos again then leave a like in the comment (so that they know whether many want such videos again or not).

What silicone caulk did you use, like the brand?
Aquarium silicone, unfortunately this brand is no longer available. But there’s plenty of others to choose from!
@@MytischCrafts oh okay, thank you for your response! Is there one you would recommend? I want one that comes out clear but a lot of them dry clear but don’t come out of the bottle clear.
