Only just found your page on TH-cam, where have you been all my life, I prefer to work on my own bike, and all the thing's I was wondering about you have answered all my questions, especially with valve adjustments, and how to set up my carburettors, next thing, I'm buying is a gs -911. And i don't think I'm gonna go into a dealership again,, apart from buying parts 😂 And as I sign of appreciation, sir , I'm gonna post something on my bm groups 😊
Thanks you !! Perhaps you should look at the MotoScan app Its a far better and much cheeper alternative for the GS911. @TheOldMechanic just thought I'd let you know, I've went for the motoscan and I have a feeling I'm gonna be very busy shortly, 🤣 I watched your video on setting your valves, and that's my next step on working on my bike, Can't praise your channel enough, 😃😃😃😃
Une super vidéo comme d’habitude, bien expliqué que du bonheur à regarder ce type de vidéo. Je te souhaite une bonne journée et une bonne continuation.
Old Friend, here I use a more practical way to keep the brake fluids of my R1200 GS 2012 always in good condition, I know it's not an orthodox practice, but it's been working for decades. I simply change every six months the entire contents of the front and rear brake fluid inside the reservoir by syringing the fluid out and replacing it with fresh fluid. So the old fluid inside the caliper and the pipes is mixing with the new fluid that I put in the reservoir and I always have a relatively new quality of fluid in the system. It's easy, fast and I don't need to be intervening with tools on the system. I know that I will never have 100% new fluids in the system, but I will never have less than 70% new fluids either. What do you think about it?
Dont’t forget to pump up your brakes and to top up the reservoir before you start riding again or you might be in for a surpise. Also brake fluid can easily be taken out of the reservoir using a syringe (watch the paint). No risk of introducing air into the system.
Thanks for showing Very understandable and easy to follow. Did it know myself. Due to this vlog. But I don't understand why you are draining some brake fluid. Is that really necessary?
Excellent. I'm hopeless with spanners but a mechanic says I need new brake calipers (Brembo) after only 24K miles? Do you think they could just need renovating/cleaning?
Hi, ofcourse you can put new seals in them, as I can't believe that the pistons are worn. But then again thats just my opinion while not able to see what is wrong with your calipers.
Great videos you do really helpful i have the 2010 GS not the GSA and you have given me the confidence to have a go myself what is the (CHEEP) CLEANING SOLUTION..!! you use please
@@TheOldMechanic nice 👍 i really enjoyed your videos . i am looking to buy a 2008 bmw r1200r and i wanted to have a reference point, as i plan do the service my self . i am a bit worried about the cost of parts :) as many people say that Japanese bike are a lot cheaper to maintain .

Not entirely convinced he does, to be honest..

I'm disappointed, my adventure is sooo dirty. Your's is soooo clean. How often do you clean the caliper.
Atleast every year 😂
Nice to see your video’s! I just cleaned my brake calipers with water and dreft, works perfect. Where did you get the rvs bolts?
Volgens mij iets van RVS Paleis, ff google dan vind je het wel 😉
I like your table lift.. it looks like wood? have you any plan drawings of how you built it?
Thanks!
Thanks !!!
@@TheOldMechanic Your Welcome! I'm from the US, I recently bought a 2013 BMW f800GS and I appreciate your videos!

Hi, ofcourse you can put new seals in them, as I can't believe that the pistons are worn. But then again thats just my opinion while not able to see what is wrong with your calipers.
Kitchen detergent will disolve any grease on the moving pistons. Not good for moving parts to be dry

Sorry how stupid of me😱 I have just watched it again i missed that bit last night when the Amazon guy knock on the door 🙄 thank again.
