    One thing I listen for in a conversation is how people laugh. One can get a good idea of who a person is and how genuine they are by their laughter alone. Some people’s laughter comes from within, like a musician playing a love song. Other people’s laughter comes from without and is more like a shield or barrier. As for me, could listen to H H teach us all day just to hear his laughter and see the genuine happiness gleaming from his eyes. The way he leans in when he laughs really broadcasts what he is feeling. Genuine happiness laughter Is like a canon that blasts away anguish and disparities from ones path. It’s is my wish that one day we may all laugh with each other not because something is funny but because of the genuine shared feeling of happiness from realizing just how ridiculous we all have been.

    I'm so happy to see these young people contacting His Holiness, The 14th Dalai Lama. He really IS the 14th incarnation of this great Bodhisattva, and this is one of the truly GREAT things Mother India has given to the world. May all beings soon be freed from suffering and find full Enlightenment!
    Thank you for doing this, you are benefitting many!

      What if you come across a group of people who do not believe in this compassion and philosophy and repay you with violence instead?

    • @thomasschwarz1973
      @thomasschwarz1973 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rp7159 You are right. Not only people, but wild animals, asteroids, earth quakes, can all disturb our feeling of warmth and the expression of warm caring for others. But the point is about the times that we are in control. If you and I are parents, will we have only one rule for our children? The rule of love? Or will we come up with all kinds of rules that are a daily expression of our fear and loneliness, and we use these rules to torture those close to us?
      Then, back to when people attack us, or animals, or violent natural phenomena, or even our own natural death, which will destroy our bodies completely, there are three general methods to be as warm in your heart as possible: ethics, meditation and wisdom. Ethics, includes loving kindness, or caring for others. So yes, also, there is a lot of protection that we get by at least wishing happiness for all who attack us. That is no contradiction. I can physically defend myself and still not feel hatred/coldness in my heart, still wish that my attacker (would stop attacking me) and find a happy peaceful life (instead) )))). The real point, is that if I become angry inside, and cold hearted, I am at risk for wasting my short life as a human.

    • @rp7159
      @rp7159 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@thomasschwarz1973 we excuse innocent animals that wish to harm us because of reasons of self defence or by their inherent nature, we excuse natural calamities, we excuse the march of time ie death but we do not excuse any group of people that wish us harm and reject our belief in ahimsa and karuna because they consider these concepts as laughable and seen as a weakness on our part. For these people there are and always has been ways of dealing with them in an appropriate manner, it's just that in the past some people have refused to implement these methods. As a result , they have lost huge libraries and universities which contained vast literatures on medicine, science, philosophy etc and at the same time innocent lives were lost. We do not believe in turning the other cheek, there's no such teaching, self defence has always been a part of the concepts of ahimsa and karuna.

    Purpose of life.
    Learn, grow, understand. Life is a surprise. Friendship, unity, understanding each other's differences.
    Life has no purpose to truly say. Life just is. Purpose is our own creation.
    If creation was to say my purpose was to no longer be alone with an eternity of lucid dreaming in infinite concepts then what is your purpose in that purpose fulfilled?
    It makes you think.

    The Ancient Hindu knew the secret, today we seek the same derived knowledge from every other religion other than Hinduism. The fact is Hinduism is so vast and abstract, it can be overwhelming to understand. But being a way of life, it was never intended as a religion rather the search of truth, as per the seekers own temperament.

    Just love. ... not if... just because. No if’s ... love is eternal,infinite and probably the only “real” situation that amounts to anything in this world, or I should say the only real lesson why we are here...so wake up . Real love will smack you in the face a couple times before you get it. This is what we are after this dimension and light. Love and light ... so if we cannot be aware of this, you will not “ascend” your consciousness So perhaps this is the reason of life? You will forever be returned and “reincarnated” until this lesson is learnt so just remember this the next time someone wants to fight you... watch what happens to them if you just turn and walk the other way, it is much grander lesson and the universe is more acceptable to that eternal love and will prevail...the others will forever return to the hell hills until this veil is lifted to be able to see as one. If you love you may live here in this realm however you will have higher consciousness then perhaps thy neighbour. Some will be attracted to you because of this conscious of love. Understand this is also a gift . Being grateful to have this “gift” is also love. Some perhaps may understand this is love being light. Love is light. This is truth. I wrote this to try to explain a very small piece of much I truly understand. You know this I know. But I just need you to know that I also know. And I love you.

    In the contemporary language, what His Holiness the Dalai Lama meant to say was that Buddhists shouldn't take all series of Buddha's teachings literally, per se, mere out of his/her beliefs in a presumed manner but should take them as a subject to be comprehended by means of making them relevant to one's own experiences so far as the facts from reality is concerned, so that unrealistic doctrines can't be foisted to you in a manner of shiny fake gold. Ideologically interpreted by Tenzin Nyima, (Mr.), Columbia Heights, MN, USA
