Most amazing, I have come across many non-believers reading his book while on my travel by train or plane during my official or business trips. The answer they gave was, he is realistic and logical.. Messiah of Peace and Compassion. Happiness the sole purpose of all sentinent beings.. Practically I also want me and my family and the whole world to be happy. Long Live His Holiness. The only Religious Persons who talks of the well being of the 7 billion human beings and all religions.

in 40 years of listening to him... and as many of these videos as I can find the past few years... I have never disagreed with anything he's said... which must be some sort of miracle, eh?... except this... and it's like my dad watching television and giving me the relativity equations... when someone said... UFO... now my poor wife gets the Fibonacci lecture from me... arrrrrgh...
fortunately we both love listening to him.. especially when he laughs... so we listen a lot...

50% of Americans are fundamentalist Christians...we have still a very long long ahead of us. I studied Zen (who cares :) in the 80's in Montreal but mostvpeoplw in my big Cath and Christian family does not ask me any questions about Buddhism . Mostly family from outside the big city Metro.. I live in Toronto now and I almost never hear of Buddhist talk on Radio, TV my neighbors, new immigrants... There is a big lack of explanation, curiosity of Buddhist universal philosophy . Shit, if my family ever new (really listened and tried to understand ) how Secular Buddhism could be much better in so many lost and deluded nations

May he live as long as he wishes; and while he does may he not suffer physically. He had been through do much in his life. Especially since the invasion by the Red Army in 1950. I can’t imagine what horrors he has faced. But I also doubt any other person could have have wended his way and that of his people through the dark times of Tibet.
He is an example we can all learn from and benefit from just because he is here. And this will not change when this body has run down. The subtle body will return to keep teaching and guiding the Tibetan people and all the rest of the world.
He has suggested he may return in the West or/as a female; but he will not be the one the Chinese government “finds” just as the Chinese government has not “found” those reincarnations of other great lamas in spite of their claims.
I feel that when he gave up direct temporal governance of Tibet, but not Spiritual leadership, he became a leader to all the world. It has long been my dream to be in his presence in this life, if possible. I think I would be “high” for weeks or months, maybe for my remaining days.
As you said, long live the His Holiness the 14th Dalai for our benefit, but not longer than he desires to his benefit. He has earned the right to accept his moksha and leave samsara if he chooses, but if his companion is still strong enough to deal with the horrors of this place, may this bringing be reborn according to the needs he perceives in his wisdom. And may I be lucky enough to be near if I have not yet fulfilled my desire to be in his presence by then.
With Metta to you, to all who watch, to all who love His Holiness, to those who hate us or His Holiness. May they all be blessed with the healing they need.

Long live His Holiness the Dalai Lama, most logical and practical religious leader of this century.... great thinker and philosopher of old India Nalanda Tradition the oldest University of the World- when there was no existence of Oxford, Trinity or Havard, UCLA etc. , Nalanda University now in Bihar State.... the teaching of the great thinkers and philosophers of the Nalanda University most relevant( viz. Shankarrishta, Atisha Dipankara, Nagarjuna, etc.) in this world of turmoil and strive. The ancient knowledge of India most needed for universal brotherhood and religious harmony (Securalism - the old age India tradition).

Not my case at all. My mother was mean to me. I knew I was attracted to females at age 12. My mother was very homophobic. I didn't want to upset her. I married early to escape her physical and mental abuse. I lost my father to a massive heart attack when I was 6, resulting in my anxiety and depression. Other obvious factors too.
My husband and I were married for 17 years and I met a woman whom I fell in love with. I divorced him following being abused sexually, mentally and physically. I was in a 17 year relationship with a woman after much counseling with all involved. My mother disowned me. So much has occurred. I got my degree in psychology at age 40. I worked with children at risk. I know how to help others.

if you look at advaita vedanta's evolution before and after coming of Buddha, a lot of it seems to be plagiarised from buddha dharma, without actually grasping the theories of anaatma, nichya anichya and high yoga tantrayana.
