Ken, these old Gillette cartridge systems are really interesting! We have seen already all these great DE razors on YT - now it is time to give the cartridge stuff a try, especially if it is vintage. Chris Bailey also shaves at the moment with new Gillette razors in front of the camera to try something new. It somehow refreshes the traditional shaving community.

I had one of those Atras. Pretty good razor. My wife got me a really nifty brass handle years ago and that was honestly a pretty darned good shave!

Why not Ken , I used an Atra . I think it was the first cartridge I ever tried . I had a nice one . Looked for it myself , nowhere to be found . I think my grandfather's old spice mug was with it . UGH ! In a box at my ex-wife's house somewhere . Cool Golf Ball ! Congratulations on the mail call haul !

Good evening Ken! Really? Sweet shaves...? LOL. Yes, shave with it...looks too good to pass up. I knew everyone is different and all about the mileage may vary thing, but the Nacet blades seem sharp and smooth in my razors. I can tell you what isn't so smooth; it's the Red Tip! I just shaved with mine and while a close shave (BBS), I detected a harshness to the blade I rarely get on a Gillette razor. I read somewhere the shave angle is different for the Red Tip and once mastered the harshness mellows a bit. Good luck! Finally, Gillette Aftershave. I seen the item you held up and that is the modern version, but I found a vintage scent store online and there was several bottles of this green Gillette aftershave. I wonder if that was refreshing with a nice scent? I wonder if anyone used it...say 1960's..and was it any good? Inquiring minds want to know! Goodnight Ken!

Most definitely shave with the silver plated Atra. In my opinion it is the form a Transformer would have taken if disguised as a razor. ;)

Nice stuffs. I also use a Gillette Sensor Exell until switched to DE razors.) I still think that among razors with two blades this razor is one of the best. Nice trophy ball for your collection. Thanks.

Use the silver plated Atra Ken! Very cool. Also, Gillette has a non gel or lotion aftershave called cool wave. Smells great.

You got some very cool razors I have a few of those Gillette Razors too but I have no ideal what year and the reed and Barton Razor does look really, you should do a shave with it

Cartridges get a lot of hate unfortunately.
I personally think the soap and brush is much more important for a top notch shave, and the double edge is an extension of that and not the centerpiece.
Coming from someone who hasn't used a cart in at least a year!
