I bought one last year. Even though I own 15 safety razors, this one has become my daily shaver. Just perfect for me. And it's nice to know it will last me for the rest of my life.

It's a great razor probably my favourite one

WOW! Congratulations on that purchase Rich. The fit and finish looks great. I set my Weishi S2000 to 2 or 3 and no further with a Feather blade. So if your AS-D2 is a mild razor, then it would make sense to use a Kai and/or Feather blade with it. Enjoy your weekend!

I have sensitive skin and used different razor 🪒, can’t have daily shave with double edged razors, do you think with this is possible to have daily shave ? I am sick of buying overpriced Gillette cartridge. Appreciate your thoughts. Thx for the video

One of my favourite razors Rich - try it with a King C Gillette blade again one of my favourite setups.

Alas I was reviewing the razor as a pass around. I’m saving my nickels for one though.

@@Majorrich Yes mate I know they are pretty pricey but once you have one it is going to last a long time.😀

Hi, have a nice day. İt's nice razor, but is it worth the price? Many people says it is very mild and not effective. Razorock game changer is more effective or not?

    • @Majorrich
      @Majorrich  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

It gives me a super smooth shave and super mild, but the smooth doesn’t last as long as it does with the GameChanger.

This razor is perfect for anyone with sensitive skin and light/medium bears growth. Its smooth and will get you baby smooth but you will barely feel theres a blade in there.
      Its my favorite razor.

In my experience, the Feather feels mild, but shaves very effective. (Using it with a feather blade.)

How to buy in reasonable price ? This razor is the costliest one

  • @africantwin173

I'm not willing to spend 200 euro's on that. My max is always 50 euro on DE razors, if i can find one with a low profile head on it. And on a straight razor 150. I have bought the Feather popular 6 months ago, and it did not shaved good. I think that all feather products are overpriced, but thats just me. I shave mostly with a old mild Gillette slim G. Voskhod blades 20 euro 300 pcs from ebay. I newer tried Feather blades. they cost here 45 euro per 100. not my cup of tea.

I think this Feather razor and their blade is worth every cent.
I havent tried Feather popular yet but the low price just gives me doubts.
Feather AS-D2 was my first razor and remains the smoothest and gentles razor. Perfect shaves everytime. Top class Stainless steel razors that will last a life time. Easy to clean doesnt scratch and get spots the samw way as razors with chrome finishes etc. I like that.

I used to think the same way years ago. After the coating of my Merkur Futur started to flake off, I had to retire it. As there is only zamak underneath. Water will corode that in no time. And it was not even 2 years old. The feather will last me for the rest of my life. As for Feather blades, they always have been my favourite. 45 euro 100 blades means 400 shaves in total. (As I use a single blade 4 times.) Totally worth it for me.

@@youremybiggestfan Agreed 100%. You can't compare a cheap half plastic razor with a butterfly head with a 3 piece all stainless steel one.

The Feather AS-D2 is probably the most overrated, overpriced and overestimated safety razor on the world market.
First, the material is dubious. It's relatively light, looks cheap, and blatantly resembles aluminum. It seems to me that the producer plays tricks on the customers, calling it an "all stainless" razor without really using the word "steel". This seems to me an act of deception, trying to create the false expectation that it's made of stainless steel, though it actually isn't. There are many materials that are "stainless" without necessarily having to be stainless steel.
Second, this razor's performance is extremely poor. You have to keep cap-riding all the time to achieve at least some shave. Even if you use the Feather blades, this razor almost doesn't shave. It's zero aggressiveness really sucks.
Third, it looks very cheap and ugly because the material looks like aluminum. The only thing that is obviously made of stainless steel is the stand. The cheap appearance of the razor unpleasantly contrasts with the beautiful stainless steel finish of the stand - these two look like they don't belong to each other.
I've bought this toy for my son to become his firsts safety razor, because it's unlikely to nick him. Unfortunately, I think it's also unlikely to give him any shave at all.
Besides, this razor is also extremely unsuitable for men with sensitive skin because many strokes need to be applied at one place to achieve at least some shave; this naturally leads to bad skin irritation. I find it actually questionable whether this toy is suitable for anyone at all. Compared to, for instance, the excellent Edwin Jagger 3one6, the AS-D2 is just a bunch of problems.

An aluminium razor like the Henson AL13 weighs 37 grams, whereas the all-stainless as-d2 weighs 90 grams. That is not light by DE razor standards. I think somebody is venting their spleen. If you have skin irritation then use a proper shaving brush with proper shaving cream and cold water and cold skin (not warm or hot).

@@Tim._.. I've been shaving with a safety razor for 32 years, so I'm nowhere near a beginner. I don't get any skin irritation when using a more aggressive razor, since, due to its higher efficiency, a BBS shave doesn't require repeating many strokes on one spot. Thank you for trying to give me a piece of advice, but I do shave with no irritation. I just don't use the Feather AS-D2 razor, since I find it extremely inefficient and poor quality. I have actually found the perfect safety razor: it's the HomelikeShaving Start-2 Open Comb. It really is the perfect razor, because:
      - it's full stainless steel,
      - the handle is made of one single piece,
      - the blade ends are fully covered on sides,
      - the teeth in the comb at bent down, which provides fantastic smoothness,
      - it's perfectly balanced,
      - it's very efficient,
      - it's really smooth,
      - it's absolutely beautiful, conservative, yet swanky enough. I use an excellent HomelikeShaving Black Synthetic brush, my own homemade preshave oil, the Sir Hare soap and the HomelikeShaving Dejavu Cool aftershave.
