    This was actually very informational for me, I appreciate how straight forward you explained their roles. I’m in a BSN program now and graduate this December and just started my maternal rotation. This vid helped reaffirm that I want to be a NICU nurse lol I’d much rather work with the babies than the mamas ☺️ great video girl 💕

  • @helenchhay6246
    @helenchhay6246 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Just to clarify, does your facility have specialty trained postpartum nurses to do the first assessments on the infants? Or do labor nurses do that? We call them NAN nurses or CORE nurses where I work.

    • @NurseAggz
      @NurseAggz  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Helen Chhay at my facility it’s the admission team nurses. They have their own staff and work specifically to admit the new born and do the first assessment.

    • @helenchhay6246
      @helenchhay6246 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      NurseAggz yes! We consider them postpartum nurses as well because they can do both roles, does your facility do so? PPNs can become one they just have to be certified in our facility, and I’m not sure if every place is different.

    • @NurseAggz

      BriLaRoseXo there’s another nurse that’ll step in to take over care of you other patient if you’re in a delivery. You resume care with your other patient about 1hr after delivery

    • @hannahmaple5927
      @hannahmaple5927 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      dm. iliana a labor and delivery nurse is a nurse that administers medication, monitor the mothers vitals, coach pushing, and charting. A midwife is the person who actually delivers and catches the baby. Of course at some point the two jobs do some of the same things but those are the main jobs. Hopefully that’s helpful. By all means I’m not an expert but that what I know :)
