As probably the only reviewer with multiple brands of racks, it'd be great if Coop would show more cross brand fitment. How well does this fit on a REP, Titan or Sorinex rack? Does it get too loose or too tight because some of those a metric? Any weirdness with Sorinex because their holes on the sides aren't off set? That kind of thing
Bryan that is a great content idea. I'll make sure the team hears that idea. I think those could be super informative videos. -Mike, GGR Community Manager
Gladf I didn't buy the monolift attachments yet, will wait for these to be available on rogue europe. If it takes ages I may just order the mutant metal monolift roller stuff. Those look great aswell.
Love that you pointed out having the key magnetized, I was literally thinking two minutes before that I’d stick a magnet on there to stick it on something out of the way when it’s not in use
Love the more compact design. I also like the way it secures to the rack using one pin. I have a REP rack (PR5000) and the older model of the Rogue monolift. While it is compatible with the REP rack, the lower pin hole doesn't align properly because REP uses metric measurements and Rogue uses freedom units. It's still usable but could be more secure. This new model is tempting me lol.
Been using the 2.0 for a week now and love it! Being able to easily slide up/down the rack with one hand is key. Also can squat inside my rack with the arms easily. awesome engineering. Also want to give Rogue’s customer service a shout out. It is the best out there that I know (unlike Titan’s Which is an absolute joke).
They could also accomplish the same 1 inch rack placement offset from the existing hole by placing another hole 3 inches below it. That would have less of an impact on the strength / capacity than making a combo hole and still allow for 1 inch increments.
I really hate how far out my monolifts stick out, and (like you said) moving them is a pain. It’s great that they fixed those issues. I paid in the $325 for the current monster monolifts. This isn’t too bad of a price jump for what you get. But after taxes and shipping, it’s $500+. I’ll deal with the current ones for a while longer.
Just ordered the Mutant Metals version about a week ago.. but damn these look sick after seeing the review. I might have to get a pair and just deal with the pain of having both 😂.
Over at Mac Strength Co reviews he points out that the jcup part sticks out too far and you can still hit it during a squat coming up so he uses it just for bench which works great. He was told the solution is to step back a bit but that defeats the purpose of having monilifts. Not sure if I want to buy at this time.
I absolutely agree it was a missed opportunity that the design can’t do 1 inch increments. It would have been incredibly helpful when I was competing and when I train younger or smaller athletes.
The Monster Lite version is similar in price at $390 and weighs the same at 51 pounds for a pair. I think it is same piece as the monster version, except for the upright bracket that is set up for 5/8".
99% of the attachments are identical in every way except the pin size. And they're usually at least $100 more for monster series even though you only get an extra $0.50 in materials
I think the weight savings is a moot point. With the Rogue, you have to one hand the monolift since you have to hold the pin in your other hand. With the Rep, you can use both hands to hold and maneuver the it since it is more of a standard jcup interface. So 26lbs in one hand, vs 36lbs in two hands.
It’s a massive pain in an R-3 to manoeuvre each arm even with two arms for squats. You have to hold them quite high, it’s basically impossible for the average lady to do it because your arms have zero mechanical advantage above your head height and stretching out. Sliding up and down like the 50 Cal trolley is much much less fiddling as well, rotating the arm for the security pin is the real challenge.
It kind of is but being one hand actually makes is a lot easier to maneuver. Rogues original one and rep are essentially the same. It’s actually extremely annoying to adjust them with 2 hands
@@johnf419 I bought adjustable but I never move mine, EVER, because it’s just too hard. Basic J cups fit real easy for bench or even squatting on the other side of the rack so why bother?
@@Xplora213 I love it for benching so to me it’s worth the hassle but I have to move it for all my pressing or remove it while squatting in the other j hooks
I have the previous gen monolifts on the westside bench rack, the vertical stack height is very limiting. To the point that I’ve considered purchasing additional taller uprights. These seem to much more compact vertically. Will purchase these just for that reason alone.
The holes aren't smaller....the dimensions of the uprights are slightly smaller than 3x3. I Have a PR4000 and all my attachments are Rogue. They fit on the REP uprights just fine. Even snug, in most cases.
If it is, this would make the price absolutely worth it. I use mono attachments for squats, but I still have to walk them out a step or two, and it kind of defeats the purpose.
On the previous gen, it’s kinda tight with no walk out. I don’t see a lot of difference in swing distance between the the two. Ultimately I put mine on my bench as it seems more helpful there. However with previous gen the vertical stack height is limiting on the westside monster bench rack which these address.

Great review but I'm sorry, the half moon hole idea is not as robust as putting a second hole 3 inches below the upper hole. Since the hole spacing on the upright is 2 inches, having the second hole at 3 inches would allow you to alternate the pin between the upper and lower holes, giving the 1 inch movement with a lot of steel between the two holes.
Didn’t buy them in the past bc they were super big and the swaying that occurred when trying to get tight for a 1RM. Now that they have a way to limit travel and are more compact will have to give them a second look.
But, Mutant Metals putting roller J cups on their compact monolifts takes care of the issue of centering a fully knurled bar like a squat bar, which if you are going heavy enough to need monolifts, not just want them. Version 4?
Haven’t noticed centring being an issue even with heavy bands and wonky shoulders. You have to rerack the bar yourself with these, unlike a true monolift, so you can adjust the position on the way in. Maybe I’ll change my mind on this but it hasn’t seemed like an issue to me and it’s a potential issue for me given imbalances.

I would not buy this if I do not have a Monster series rack. The new monolifts uses the holes on the side of the uprights and those are very far and few. Look for the old version instead if you do not have a Monster series rack.
Griffin Fitness just released their spring loaded monolifts with no weight arm. This Rogue design is an old design. Want more space, spring loaded is the future.
These types of monolifts only do half the job. On squats you still have to walk the bar back to the j cups. With a real monolift, someone manually brings the arms forward with a lever so you can rack the bar.
It’s a real expensive item that is quite pointless outside a very specific demographic. The real benefit of the monolift is zero rerack, NOT unracking. You need a second person to stop spotting you and push the monolift arms up so you aren’t pushing the bar forwards or backwards for the rerack and once it gets really really heavy, a spotter is guiding the rerack anyway. The main benefit is heavy band wide stance squats where a walk out is absurd or impossible, but lunging forward a bit is not much of an issue.

Saw these just the other day and they look like they have a good design. -Mike, GGR Community Manager
I wanna care about anything as much as Coop cares about stickers & laser cut logos.
"it's cheaper because it costs less"
This is the kind of insight I can only get here
These types of monolifts only do half the job. On squats you still have to walk the bar back to the j cups. With a real monolift, someone manually brings the arms forward with a lever so you can rack the bar.
You just lean forward. No walking necessary. I've been using mine for years with no issues.
Why doesn't titan fitness have an x3 monolift? Bogus
Probably because they don't have anyone else to rip off.
I'm with you on that
It’s a real expensive item that is quite pointless outside a very specific demographic.
Because Titan sucks taint....
