  • At long last I finally made it back to Dunkeld to do the trail Stingy, Stingy. I'd seen it on a video by Clynes Lines a couple of years ago when Mike Clyne, a very talented mountain biker, was searching for 5 minute trails in woodlands in Scotland. I thought it looked brilliant but knew it would be harder than it looked on the video as Mike always makes things look easy because he is such a good rider. But with my new confidence inspiring bike I thought now was the time to give it a try. Doing trails like this is why I got the new bike in the first place so might as well give it a whirl.
Mikes 5 minute trails are 15 minutes to me! Ha! Ha! Ha!
Here is the link to Clynes Lines video that inspired the trip:

Thanks mate, yeah, it's great- so different from my old bike but I'm getting used to it now. If you ever have time, and come up to Scotland. Check out Dunkeld it is superb.😀🤙🤙🤙

Looks far better riding Dunkeld trails in the dry, need to get back and try some of the trail there not been in a long time thanks for sharing Donald 😁🤙

Yeah, I was glad it was dry. Doesn't really show it very clearly on the video but there was a lot of roots and rocks which were tricky enough in the dry. If the mud had been wet it would have been 10 times harder, especially the top section. It was a great trail. I think Dunkeld is my favourite place to ride, so many good trails up there. Cheers Gary. 😀🤙🤙🤙

Cheers for the name drop, I'm outta the YT game now though so no more vids from me apart from maybe race vids.
Well done on getting there in the dry, as that neck of the woods is a different beast in the wet. Keep pushing dude yer doing great.

Cheers mate. Yes, I was glad it was dry, I could tell it would be treacherous in the wet mud. Think I could have ridden it better but didnt have my fork set up quite right- sorted now though. Thanks for your videos, there are plenty of places you've shown that are on my bucket list although I'm sure many of them are way above my pay grade at the moment!🤣🤣🤣 I enjoy your race day videos as well, you always give a good sense of the day.😀🤙🤙🤙

Thanks Julie! 😀 I'm loving the new bike. It feels great to have a bike that fits me well and is more suited to the kind of trails I want to do. Definitely get yourself to Dunkeld you won't regret it. I think it's probably my favourite place to ride. There is a huge variety of trails, something for everyone. And it is just such a beautiful area, the scenery is amazing. How you getting on with your ebike? I seriously considered getting one as I'm not a fan of climbing.🙂🤙🤙🤙

@@muddymongoosemtb9873 It's only an hour from me so I need to suck it up and go! I've been before but just walking the dog! I'm absolutely loving the e-bike, I'm able to access things I couldn't dream of riding before like HBR! I actually love climbing now and you can just enjoy the scenery but also find wee climbing challenges! Even if I didn't get en eeb though I'd have wanted this sort of geometry on a normal bike, as you say having a bike suited to the riding we want to do deffo helps! The Ralon is gorgeous!

@juliemckmtb glad to hear you're loving your eeb, and the geometry is suiting you better. I had a shot on an ebike and it did make climbing fun...maybe I'll get one at some point.🤔🤔🤔How many bikes are too many?🤔🤔🤔🤣🤣🤣

@@muddymongoosemtb9873 I bought mine as an ex-demo at a local shop which saved a lot of money, bike was essentially brand new!! Its a good way to do it if you do make the call! N+1 is the correct number of bikes but I should maybe stop now 🤣

That's the cracking wee trails Donald, well done. Have you got a dropper post on the bike? Thanks for filming, Andy

Cheers Andy, yes got a dropper, probably one of the best bike inventions ever! Stingy, Stingy was great fun, you can't fail to enjoy yourself at Dunkeld to be honest.😁😁😁👌🤙🤙🤙

I liked your comment that getting a great bike takes away all your excuses! But for me it still leaves the main excuse which is outright fear and cowardice, features which I hold in abundance!

🤣🤣🤣Don't worry Robert, you're not alone in that, I've got tonnes of that too! 🫣🫨😬😵‍💫😵🤣🤣🤣
