For such an extensively widespread culture and overall impact, the Celts general history is criminally lacking or unknown while the mythology around them is more distinct and known then the real life lost history, sadly.

The Romans called people stupid barbarians. And they were WRONG?! Well I tell you I am just shocked, shocked. It's not like the Romans did this to literal every people group they ever met.
@@camulodunon We’re pretty certain that they originated around southern Germany and Austria. Even today the people there still have a lot of Celtic Y dna.

They thought the Greeks were fruity instead of barbarians
it's always weird for me to imagine the Celts not originally coming from the British isles
As a briton myself it is kind of mind bogging how widespread the celts were.
@@AncientHistoryGuy yes
It's definitely possible that Celtic language originated further west, perhaps Britain.

Switzerland? Celtic studies have evolved considerably in recent years.
Refer to the later works of Barry Cunliffe.
So where do you think the celts originate ?
Cunliff’s hypothesis is not consensus among Celticists, but it’s definitely interesting and inspires re-evaluation of previous theories.
