This has to be the simplest yet effective configuration of static NAT and PAT i have ever come across. Really helpful 👍👍

@MaximTheBeast It should. The NAT translations are on seperate netwoks. Neither network has any idea what the other networks IP address scheme is. It will only see the Public IP address. In the case of Overload it would see 200.10.0.1:239 (Note 239 is just an example of a port. Each time NAT uses Overload it gives the new host a different port identification.) When using Static NAT it you will only see the 200.10.0.2 IP address, as it is only able to translate for the IP address it was bound to.

Correct, for the CCNA, in a standard ACL, since there is no ability to set the destination, you need to apply the ACL closest to the destination.

Thank you for this video I couldn't for the life of me figure out why my dynamic nat wasn't working but i forgot its wildcard mask for the access list. The thing that got me is, PCb would still ping across just not with the NAT address since i put 255.255.255.0 as its wildcard mask.

@MaximTheBeast Sorry about replying twice, but there is a character limit. In otherwords there should be no issue with both sides having the EXACT same IP addressing scheme. The host could be 192.168.0.10 and the server could be 192.168.0.10 and neither of them would ever know. However I will point out that in the real world, the server would be in a DMZ and have a public IP address. So no NAT would be needed. Unless we get into VPN tunnels for servers on a companies intranet.

Can we set Overload for the Server side?
I have a PT, where the server side router is connected to a switch whereas 3 server is connected to it...
I dun find it able to have the Computers to communicate with all servers if i have it setted on Static NAT, so i assume it would be overload.. but when i configure the overload, it doesn't seem to be able to communicate with the computers on the other side, But static works but only able to communicate with 1 of my servers.

Awesome video! Helped me out a lot! :)
If you still here after all that years the video had been published. Can you help me out a little bit?
I managed to connect the two network following the tutorial, but, under the R0 router, I have a level 3 switch with seven VLAN networks connected to it using l2 switches.
Could you tell me how should I make the computers and servers in the VLAN networks find their way to the server on the other side?
I am sure there is a way but all under my search I found notch, or not a notch, but no clear answers. :S Can you help me out?

nice job...question....What if the R0_Nat has a server connected to its fa0/1 port( server ip address within the 192.168.0.0/24 network)...do u also configure the port as "inside" or how do u go about it?

hey dan one doubt !! here you created standard ACL closest to source to allow 192.168.1.0 n.w but i think we have to apply standard acl closest to destination right??? which is correct??

Standered acl u have to apply near destination & extended acl near source.
