- In this weeks tip, I show you my special method of creating patterns on the surface of a cake. There are endless possibilities for patterns that can be created with this method...the only limit is your imagination.

Just wanted to thank you again, Chef Yener. I won the beginner's division in a small ICES cake competition using this technique (different pattern). The show was local to me, so I felt I HAD to enter, had an idea for using this pattern technique, and the show provided a reason/excuse to try. Anyway, I really appreciate your thorough tutorials and explanations. It was a great experience taking me out of my comfort zone, especially since, before the show, I was thinking of quitting cake decorating. I would not have tried without this inspiration from you.
Congratulations . I am glad and proud. Thank you
I feel so zen right now. Everything about this video is very relaxing. Also, the cake pattern looks really nice.

what kind of cake to bake when you use a fondant icing
Thank so much for sharing the video
Would parchment paper work as a substitute for the acetate sheets? It seems it would, but you may know a reason why it wouldn’t that I am not considering
I don't think It will work because it is non-stick . When you lift it may not hold the fondant. Another problem is creases will cause unwanted lines. I did not try, this is my guess.
Yeners Cake Tips - Yeners Way Thanks so much for your reply. I’m going to give it a try. I’ve created my roll and I will be finishing up the cake on Friday. Dr. Seuss cake! Your method lends itself to the theme. I’ll post results. Thank you so much for the tutorial! You’re the best
Dozycakes hi there I want to try the same technique with parchment papers. I'm just wondering if its worked for you
Hanna Ibrahim I haven’t tried parchment, but I did try using 8x10” acetate sheets from the backs of icing sheets and taped them together to get the length I needed. It worked out just fine :)
