If you're new to working with fondant, here are some things you NEVER want to do with it: th-cam.com/video/5VdX7Kzxf8A/w-d-xo.html. Best of luck on your upcoming fondant decorations!
It’s will become pretty sturdy in about 24 hours. Add gum paste to the fondant to help it dry faster and don’t be afraid to strategically place supports (i.e. rolled up paper towels, dowels, foam, etc.) to prevent drooping as your fondant piece dries enough to hold it’s weight. I hope this helps!
Thank you, great tips. I made homemade fondant. My consistency is great but after sitting for a bit, my animal is getting very soft. It’s been years since I’ve used fondant so I’m very confused. I’ve used gum paste to do flowers but not animals so your statement about mixing them has confused me. Again, thank you any advice would be much appreciated.
Mixing gum paste and fondant is very common when modeling a topper. Sometimes people skip fondant altogether and just model using gum paste. I find that homemade fondant tends to be very soft. You may want to try 100% gum paste. I hope this helps!
Yes, you can make your own RKT! I’ve only done this once and it was 10 years ago. I don’t have an exact recipe for it, but it includes Rice cereal, marshmallows and butter. If you find a good recipe, please come back and let us know! 💕

Gum paste hsnt become hard for us in 1 week. Its still moldable. Pack says gum paste not fondant
Wow… That should NOT be the case at all. 🤔 Where did you buy your gum paste? In what country do you live?
That’s shocking, in my experience gum paste drys overnight.
