As a child, the Asian children loved us, they did homework in the back of the store, we watched them grow, they watched us grow. They stayed in the hood more than home. This is how I knew I would see them in the future. That's what's up! I first heard of her today and, I knew it❤❤ they are not culture vultures lots of them grew up with us in the 80's

You guys are missing the Asian neighborhoods in Brooklyn. There is a bunch of Asians in the Sunset Park/Borough Park area as well as in the Bay Ridge area. Take R train to 59th street and you will think you are living in china. And also on 18th ave and around 60-70 st there is abunch of Asians.

When I was a kid in the Bronx, I went to school with many Asian kids. They were cool, as they mixed hip hop with Pop and then put their own twist on it.

Love this video. I grew up there, Forsyth Park playing basketball in the early 80s. Went to school there, JHS 65 before IS 131 was built. Loved Awkwafina in CRA. Her character is my favorite in the movie. Can't wait be be back in NYC again. Thanks for the video.

You forgot about "India Row" aka "Curry Row" E.6th Street in Manhattan and China Town in Brooklyn.
I'm AA from Va who lived in flushing Queens in the 80's and worked at Stern's on union st before it became Macy's . I saw the transformation to Chinatown. I got to say u guys did a wonderful job with that area. I was on the advisory board at Stern's when we were informed of the transformation of flushing to little chinatown. I was 22yr old. U guys did a great job with Flushing. I had a Asian friend name James. James worked at Stern's in the jewelry department. We use to hang out all the time . Back in the day!!! Baby girl good luck on your journey from old school hip hop.😉

Awkwafina did mention a small part of the South Asian area of Queens, but she definitely missed Jamaica, which is also in Queens (I believe). Jamaica has a HUGE Bangladeshi population and there a LOT of different Bangladeshi restaurants, grocery stores/shops, and possibly some Bangladeshi/Indian clothing stores, as well.

Hey Fung Bros, thanks for this, Im taking notes here:-) Elmhurst has another chinatown in Queens. Malaysian, Indonesian, Vietnamese, all South Asians are around. It has been considered one of the most ethnically diverse neighborhoods in New York City ( the known universe!!) And yes I have tried all restaurants there. Delicious food
Every time my family goes to NY, we go to Hop Kee in Chinatown. We've been there often enough that the workers know our faces and because we're filipino they'll immediately say stuff like "Mabuhay!' and "Salamat!" when we leave, they're just so friendly.

+Mertol Jr Yeah seriously pare. It may not be as prominent as Chinatown or Ktown would be but I wished they also showed the Filipino neighborhood in Woodside Qns. Also it may not be in 'New York' per se, but they also should have included Jersey City. So many great Filipino establishments like Legal Beans, Fiesta Grille, Max's, Rowena's, Casa Victoria, Little Quiapo, and rome around the Phil Am store. If they wanted to stay in Manhattan, they could have visited Maharlika, Grill 21, Kuma Inn, or Jeepney just to name a few

I live on Long Island but I've taught in Queens (both Jamaica and Flushing). Flushing is the new Chinatown and it's much larger!
