I am a former Navy Diver, i just bought this watch a few days ago and absolutely love it. I bought it for the accuracy, low hassle and lume for night diving off my yacht.
I like the watch and the video. One point about the strap (might have already been mentioned below) - A diver's watch with a leather strap sort of defeats the object really, for a couple of reasons - water....and salt water. You can't really shower or go swimming in it in a pool or at the beach, as the water will damage the leather. So its 200m waterproof but you can't get it wet. But it all comes down to personal preference.
You'd be surprised how many dive watches never see water and spend most of their time on leather straps, you will be pleased to hear that my Citizen now has a metal bracelet.
@@LastWatch Yes, many dive watches aren't used for diving - I dive with mine but liked the look of them, and had one, long before I started diving. I hope I didn't sound like I was knocking the leather straps, they often look good, too. :-) I have had a few over the years, Seikos, Casios and Citizens. I have a Seiko SKX007 which I will never sell, I love it, but it isn't accurate at all. I was looking at the Citizen BN0150 as it is much more accurate and doesn't need the regular upkeep of the Seiko. I don't need it....but tempted :-)
I have this watch accurate, legible, care-free.....and looks great no matter what type of band you put on it. I would take this ALL day over an SKS. Oh yeah..I forgot to add that the Bezel lines up perfectly unlike a Seiko, and the second hand hit every mark perfectly. I compare and adjust to Atomic time....and rarely have to adjust it except for a few...and I mean a few....seconds fast every 2-3 months.
These non-sapphire eco-drives are hands down the best bang for the bug, for everyday use. Don't have to worry about replacing the battery, or correcting the time. And tempered glass protectors have gotten really good; I just pop one of those puppies on, barely noticable and don't have to worry about the screen getting scratched up. Just replace the protector when it gets dinged. Got one of these with the rubber band, as the bracelets all sinch the hairs and leather gets stinky after a while -- I leave my watch on for months at a time :).
I now have a scratch on my crystal but you barely notice it. Time was I’d be surprised if this loses a second over a few months, the only thing I have to do is change the date and sometimes I don’t bother. I have it on an oem bracelet with a divers extension which is perfect for the changeable weather and ensuing wrist size change
I bought it recently with the solid end links and divers extension bracelet... I am in love with it, citizens price quality ratio is out of this planet
Your video helped make my decision. I did my research and am now the proud owner of this watch. I love it! Came in a little scuba tank. BRILLIANT! Thanks again for your review of this piece. Very helpful, indeed.
Citizen should really consider making their data window and display larger since it is sitting too deep (much deeper than mech. watches are) due to the solar tech used.
I have a BN150-10E. It wears beautifully for a rubber strap watch. My Seiko Turtle SRP777 strap drove me nuts. The steel keeper pinched me all the time. I love the lume and being a diver who doesn't dive anymore, I wish I had one when I did. It is an awesome watch. And mine doesn't have the printed tables on the band. I love it! Highly recommend!
i love it on the bracelet. to elevate this watch even more: sapphire or ceramic bezel, sapphire glass, and radio controlled time with the solar power! that would be insane!
I’m looking at purchasing one of these now, and don’t see much about the stock bracelet and it’s comfort. It’s not too bad in terms of hair pulling etc vs buying on rubber and an aftermarket bracelet?
@@musclebillcoaching The stock bracelet is comfy, I have reviewed it if you go on my channel. The clasp is also comfy is a little overkill. I LOVE THE LOOK of this thing just pulled the trigger on one from Amazon on black Friday for 150 had to haven't heard a bad review about em..I don't think it's a 44 more like a 41 dial
I just bought one of these but with the stainless steel bracelet. As you said, it is more expensive this way but I know I want the bracelet as I don't like the citizen rubber straps. I think they are too stiff and a little uncomfortable. I'm not too fussed about the weight as I like a watch with a bit of weight to it. The second hand alignment on yours looks bang on so I hope I get that lucky too although every review I have watched so far has had good alignment.
I love the brown leather strap (not a huge fan of rubber or steel bracelet). Just ordered the watch after some investigation, and it seems to be exactly what I want from material things - decent looking, robust and reliable for an affordable price. Something that is getting harder and harder to find with each passing day (good working boots for example). Really hope it delivers.

I think Citizen watches are brilliant value and are somewhat overlooked for some reason. Yours really works on that brown leather strap, looks superb. I've just bought a Promaster diver (BN0194-57E). I love it but there is one small fly in the ointment. You mention in other comments that you recently bought the OEM bracelet. Did you have to remove any links? The reason I ask is that I had to on mine, it came with the watch, and I've hit a problem. I removed and replaced pins, as I've done successfully on my Orient Kamasu , Invicta and Casio. However I noticed straight away that the pins were totally straight little bars, unlike the others that were like little cotter pins and thicker at one end. Now the two pins that I've put back in after removing four links just slide out. I'm puzzled as I can't work out how the pins lock in place. As I said above I didn't have any problems with the other watches, even though I'm very new to all this, so I wasn't expecting this hiccup. Any thoughts on the matter would be appreciated. Comments from others are very welcome also.
Hi David, sorry about the late reply, I had to go dig out my old box as I didn't want to disassemble my bracelet. The watch links are held together by a pin and collar system, their should be a tiny little metal collar that sits inside the centre link to retain the pin, if you lose that then I guess the pin will just fall thru. Hopefully you should have a spare or two from your unused links.
@@LastWatch No need to say sorry my friend, I really appreciate your reply. It looks much better anyway on that distressed leather band. You might want to consider getting one of those quick release clasps that can be used to replace the buckle. More in tune with a diver and it will extend the life of the leather.

@@LastWatch Appreciate the reply, I noticed in your video the metal sleeve, very useful heads up as I was considering taking a knife to the strap. Thanks again.
Rosso Rosso I’ve only had a cursory glance but the main difference is that it comes on a bracelet, bear in mind I was quoted £142 to buy the bracelet separately for my watch. Also never buy a watch at full RRP, unless it’s a Rolex. You should be able to find this watch at a discount if you shop around and don’t buy to quickly. The bracelet on this watch seems a step up on the previous version too, it would be interesting to know it’s price off the watch
Why is Citizen so persistent on making small date windows with the date wheel sitting well below the dial, making it hard to read. It's done the same way on almost all of their watches.
I bought the lady version on a bracelt for my wife for AUD$179 from the citizen ebay shop... I love it and so does she.. I'm just hanging out for the men's watch to come down inprice. I currently wear a Seiko SRP something baby tuna..... Very nice but the citizen would suit me better
Hi Kootil, Its been a while but I got the strap from watchgecko, think this is the link www.watchgecko.com/zuludiver-2-piece-zulu-watch-strap.php they have loads to choose from
I have over 50 watches in my collection. Probably 20 automatics. I went through a phase where I bought quite a few solar. It seemed to make sense to have a watch that didn't require a new battery every 3 or 4 years but also did not require setting the time before wearing. So I purchased one Seiko, one Casio, and about 6 Citizen solar watches. I made a habit of putting them in the window about once a month to keep them charged. Here I am about 10 years later. The Seiko and Casio solar watches work fine. None of the Citizen Eco drive solar work. In fact none of the citizen solar watches worked longer than about 3 years. So there was no advantage whatsoever to them over a standard quartz watch. Big disappointment! I won't be buying or recommending Citizen watches going forward

There numbers are different
Nice watch. I´ve got this one in green. Looks better for me. But it´s really good piece of time maker. ))
Very nice!
What's the link to the leather strap? Looks great.
I got this strap and several others from watchgecko
Why is Citizen so persistent on making small date windows with the date wheel sitting well below the dial, making it hard to read. It's done the same way on almost all of their watches.
Nick K I could happily live without a date wheel on all my watches
The date window is below the solar panel.
They really need to make an ecodrive watch with a day date complication.
@@DarioCruzII One of the most affordable Eco-Drives has one. The BM8180-03E.
@@DarioCruzII better if a perpetual calendar
This watch makes for an outstanding beater watch
And that is exactly what it is with no complaints
I bought the lady version on a bracelt for my wife for AUD$179 from the citizen ebay shop... I love it and so does she.. I'm just hanging out for the men's watch to come down inprice. I currently wear a Seiko SRP something baby tuna..... Very nice but the citizen would suit me better
Amateur-1 Insight Both very good watches in their own right, hope you get your watch soon
have you measure its accuracy ?
eMiLo1313 The accuracy is bang on, probably less than a second out each month
Can you give me the link where to buy this strap pls.
Hi Kootil, Its been a while but I got the strap from watchgecko, think this is the link www.watchgecko.com/zuludiver-2-piece-zulu-watch-strap.php they have loads to choose from
Thanks. Very much appreciated.
It is my dive watch ( blue ) and yes , I dive .
Its a great watch whatever the colour
I've yet to find a bad review on this watch!
Whats not to like
For a moment I thought there was something wrong with my headphones
Early video, all good with the follow ups
@@LastWatch ....Just checked newer videos and indeed you have improved. Subscribed, great job
John Eli Thanks, I’m still learning but that’s part of the thrill.
Хороший обзор. Благодарю.
mmmm quite a nice diver that. But not as good as my Seiko hehe.
Which Seiko do you have
Nice watch
Dirk Cleiren Thanks, glad you agree
my left ear approves this video
This was an early video review, before I mastered the TH-cam audio settings
@@LastWatch nice vid :)
nice video
That strap won't last long if you go in the water
John Rossell I now have it on a bracelet
Wow
Sorry to hear that, mine is 5 years old and still going strong
Why have you got 50 watches? That seems gay.
These are made to be worn not put on a window sill.
You probably overpaid mayne but it is a great watch.
MagnumDrex X it was a gift from the wife but I think she got it cheap at the time
Overpaid!!!!! That’s crap Armani / Daniel Wellington money. I’d take the citizen all day long.
