You should replace the thermal paste with something more efficient to keep the temperature down. Running at 80c and above is quite hot and here I thought 74c is quite enough to look at improving the cooling.
I bought a Sapphire Nitro + Special Edition 8GB and it’s base frequencies are 1430 core 2100 memory. I’d say that’s pretty damn good for a base clock. I don’t know about it being the silicon lottery but it’s pretty quick for base nonetheless. I tried to put 70 more Mhz on the core and 150 on the memory and it crashed a couple of times before I got it back onto base clock and it stabilized again. Luckily I have a separate dedicated GPU in my computer so the whole thing didn’t go ballistic. But yeah I think mine is pretty dang close to as fast as it’s ever gonna go. And it’s base clocked haha
Have you used the voltage bar? Have you tried just overclocking the core withouth the memory? Not every memory can handle 2250MHz. But maybe you gpu can handle 1500MHz. Dont be scared about black screens. Just restart. If the temps are low, chances are pretty low to destroy something
I have reached that overclocking frequency setting in letter those parameters and everything is fluid with temp of the GPU under stress less than 75 ° my Gpu is a: SAPPHIRE NITRO + RX580 8 GB SPECIAL EDITION overclock: 1500MHz Core and 2250MHz Memory
I have the same sapphire rx580 nitro plus special edition. But when i try to oc with 1500mhz and 2250. And then compare cinebench test it shows less score then factory settings.
Hit 1520 and 2200mhz on the memory with a single 8-pin I wouldn't worry too much about power, the silicon is what matters. Max the power limit then bump the clock.
Honestly, I just did a light overclock of 100mhz to memory, its more than enough for me, and irons out any hiccups that I had in games like fallout 4 at 1440p. memory bandwidth is now 268 Gbps

I wonder how many memory errors the GPU has to fix at 2250Mhz... you should use HWiNFO64 and let it run in the background while gaming, and look at the GPU memory errors results after you finished gaming. It's needless to say that the value should be 0, because every error will use some of the GPU's power to correct it which will cause slight frame drops/stutters and worst case scenario system crash if it's producing too many errors and the GPU can't keep up with fixing.
Great guide! I got my xfx RX 580 4gb to 1450 mHz clock and 2000 mHz memory (stock is 1366 mHz clock and 1750 mHz memory). My Superposition score went from 8144 to 8738!
But I can use those OC settings for gaming... The superposition bench test will probably be the most that the graphics card will be stressed. It's also easier to do that than taking averages for each and every game that I play before/after and listing the settings.

I ordered this card yesterday. It will be my 1st graphic card. Looking forward to see how it will run on my system. And how it feels to work and play with a graphic card in the system. My processor is AMD 960T and I unlocked it to 5. cores. Motherboard : M5A88-M which have 4250 HD graphics 1024MB shared memory. I was trying to play Battlefield 3 on my system. But it was running so slow. Was running at 8-12 fps. So I thought to buy a graphic card. Hope this graphic card will be sufficient enough to play for next 10 years at least.
Depends on which resolution you will use yes it can even endure that much, this gpu its high range not enthusiast but will be fine for 2k gaming for some years. At full HD you can rock for years
@last2hack I bought FX-8350 now. And it is running at 4.2 on all cores but when I run cinebench R15 test then it throttles down due to high VRM Temps. As my motherboard M5A88-M doesn't have VRM heatsink. And to solve that problem you need to put fans on both sides of Motherboard where VRM is located. But now I ordered aftermarket heatsink to directly apply on VRM MOSFETs. Let's see how well they perform. Fingers crossed. 😊🤞 Else I'll have to buy another Motherboard with heatsink on VRM to take this CPU to 5Ghz
@last2hack Yes Bro. your motherboard have VRM Heatsink. You can definitely overclock FX-8350 on your motherboard upto 4.5 - 4.7Ghz with good Air Cooler.

Hmm i did 1500 with 8pin on amd wattman full auto just clock target plus 30% works fine. Out of the box i can undervoltby 0.120 with stable results its awesome
Probably, but i personally prefer undervolting my cards to get better temps. The overclock is a lower priority to me. It barely changes fps. Besides, running a 1500mhz speed is so far out of the cards performance sweet spot, hence the massive voltage boost needed. Its just silly to clock this card that high. My recommended settings are 1350-1425mhz and undervolt as much as possible. There are videos on how to undervolt with afterburner. basically just press ctrl + F and adjust the Mv on the graph based on clock speed. See how low you can get the voltage at max boost clock while remaining stable. Then lower the other clocks voltages accordingly.
if you also turn on Extend Official Overclocking Limts its located under settings in msi afterburner at the bottom. however it will let you overclock your memory more. i have the rx 580 strix 3 fan version i was able to get mine from 2250mhz to 2600mhz which is 10.4gb per second which is very good. however it may not be stable for everyone however it is a good little tip that might allow you to get a little more performance out of your card.

I answer for you. Yes, it will, just spend some time on a nice custom fan range and it will be a great experience for gaming in both sound and cooling. 100% fan speed is useless unless you have two rx 580 and the room of the air in the case will decrease

Great video. But reaching 9ghz of memory speed has nothing to do with the memory size, mate. It's more with the memory manufacturer, hynix, samsung... that's what you should be pointing out. Would u mind to check yours with gpu-z? The whole overclock was amazing for sure. Grats...
Igor Rafael I am 100% aware that speed has nothing to do with memory size. The 4gb only runs at 7gbs the 8gb runs at 8gbs. As I know that my rx 480 4gb didn't overclock much on memory. I'm pretty sure your not going to get a 2gb memory overclock out a 580 4GB. And yes this has all been confirmed on gpuz. I normally do include it for Nvidia cards to show the changes to the boost clock etc
I was referencing that the 8gb has more potential to hit 9gbs than the 4gb model which it does. As for the memory it hynix but plenty of people have hit 2250 on samsung
I have the same rx 580 4gb with Samsung memory my core clock is 1575mhz and my memory clock is 2100 MHz and I’m still goin Gand tweaking running benchmarks still no particles or crashes yet

That's actually wrong, benchmarks are made just to test out your gpu or cpu. You can see the gpu is maxed out here so it's being push to its limit. The only difference is that games use both cpu and gpu. If you crashed while playing a game but not during benchmarks, your psu might not be enough. For the best stability test, benchmark both cpu and gpu at the same time. Just take note of the temperature
@@mihajlojankovic4343 You cant just follow blindly lol. Every card is different. This guy just won the lottery ticket or just that most rx 580 can be oc to 1500mhz but that doesnt mean all can do it. It depends on your silicon lottery

The only way to know if things are stable is to test things out and if it crashes back off 10 to 20 and retest. Every card is different so test and keep an eye on temps and have fun with it. Use these videos as a good reference and resources
well thx to my Asus Croshair V Formula-z motherboard wich contains a extra molex power connection for GPUs I was able to maintain 1430mhz on my cheaper rx580 stable and 2250mhz on the memory

Absolutely not lol, technically you aren't that soild just running those components at 450W, if you're gonna over clock or play games for long period I suggest getting a 500 watt psu at least
yeha try get 500 w or higher with the 580 it states that for stable use you need 500w or higher so overclocking will require more power, causing ur psu to get diseased and ur pc will be unstable, super hot and crash
It is just fine. rx580 is about 185W on max, cpu about 100W on max, count MBO, ram, drives, fans, optical if you have etc at about 30-40W... just under 320 total when gaming on the max. It is a rare case but, for the sake of agument. It is just about the sweet spot of 80% of your power supply. So, no big upgrades on the system, without changing the power supply. And nothing will blow up ;)... I, myself have RX580 nitro+, r5 2400g (2600 is option :), 16GB hyperX predator 3000 ddr4 (8GB would be fine), asrock b450m pro4, two drives, two optical, three fans.... it is powered with corsair vx450w green line silent from 2007. 12year old psu from my old pc. Just to test stability and performance... everything is fine. Do I recomend it, not realy, just because it is old. If you get a new one with at least bronze certificate. 450-500W would be more than enough for that system. Stay well.
Guy's Don't just dump all that extra Voltage into your GPU this guy has been Overclocking the same card for months, Don't just Max out Voltage unless you want a brick. 25% Increments
Unless you've done a bios mod or set unlock extended voltage limits both amd and Nvidia cards are locked down to stay well within safe voltages the card can handle. Afterburner can't give it more than they can handle as the cards won't allow it.

Hey Rajat Dixit. +40% would be VDDC Offset? 40mV?
It crashes before I reach that clock so i don't think so.
Pretty stable and okay w/ 1425mhz core/2075 mem clock speeds. Stable at 75c temps. Was able to achieve 1500mhz/2100mhz, but ran at 85c so I lowered back since the games I play aren't too gpu demanding.

background music looping in the background really killed it for me.
Yay thanks I can run X-Plane now.

Good video. Could only get 1490 on core and 2180 on memory on my strix but it is 1410 on the core out of the box so not complaining. 😀

I guess I got the silicon lottery
@C Rizzy ikr and 81°c is a bit to hot and will shorten its life spa
81°C is totally fine. But i bet hes over 1.2V
You should replace the thermal paste with something more efficient to keep the temperature down. Running at 80c and above is quite hot and here I thought 74c is quite enough to look at improving the cooling.
I got max 70°c on 1500 and 2000
I bought a Sapphire Nitro + Special Edition 8GB and it’s base frequencies are 1430 core 2100 memory.

Asus Strix ROG RX580 8GB OC (8pin) - 1515mhz/9gbps is what I found to be the most stable - 1535mhz/2250mhz was kinda stable and I got 1555 to run Unigine Valley extreme once before it crashed and I freaked out xD I think I'm lucky af

Program so whats the point if u still cant use those oc settings in gaming , i can get around +25 memory before crashing lol
But I can use those OC settings for gaming... The superposition bench test will probably be the most that the graphics card will be stressed. It's also easier to do that than taking averages for each and every game that I play before/after and listing the settings.
Program why u always lying u lying so much nanana. Tell me names of those games where u can use ur oc settings, cauze i tried few AAA titles like hitman , watch dogs 2 and even some low spec games and all games ended crashing. Do u know that increasing memory can make ur card run even slower? i really want to believe that u got +250 on memory but i get maximum like +25 which is 10 times less so yeah :D

Nice video though. I'll also try these settings.
Else I'll have to buy another Motherboard with heatsink on VRM to take this CPU to 5Ghz
@last2hack Yes Bro. your motherboard have VRM Heatsink. You can definitely overclock FX-8350 on your motherboard upto 4.5 - 4.7Ghz with good Air Cooler.
@last2hack VRM Heatsink are generally located {between (Or Left side of (Processor Socket)) & I\o points}.

I would also like to know
Probably, but i personally prefer undervolting my cards to get better temps.

If you want fps gain then overclock your memory first this is where your biggest fps gain will be, then clock your core for a few additional frames.
If you see artifacting or tearing when you have either increased your GPU or memory frequency, have you done permanent damage to either of them?
No that means you just need to lower your overclock a bit.
How quickly will that kill your graphics card if you overclock it to 1500+ and do max voltage?
TheFullSetup I guess you didnt get exactly what i've said. But , nevermind, wont discuss about it with u anymore... thanks for your poor attention
I was referencing that the 8gb has more potential to hit 9gbs than the 4gb model which it does.
As for the memory it hynix but plenty of people have hit 2250 on samsung
there is always someone ,thanks for the tips i was stuck with 16% gpu utilization(while it was 100% actually ) but that checkbox in options fixed it

I'm pretty sure this will crash when actually playing a game for an hour or 2. Benchmarks aren't really that heavy.
Yep I have Rx 580 sapphire nitro+ spec edition 8gb and I put everything like this guy on 1500mhz and 2250 memory and after 40-50 min it crash I cannot really go beyond 1450mhz and 2100-2150mhz memory it always crash
Furmark is heavy
That's actually wrong, benchmarks are made just to test out your gpu or cpu. You can see the gpu is maxed out here so it's being push to its limit. The only difference is that games use both cpu and gpu. If you crashed while playing a game but not during benchmarks, your psu might not be enough. For the best stability test, benchmark both cpu and gpu at the same time. Just take note of the temperature

Do it by increments of 20. If you crash go back down and try by 10. If not try by 5s. And then 1s. If you keep crashing revert it to normal

Exactly...
Could I overclock this gpu and a ryzen 3 2200g with a Corsair 450W ??
Stay well.
BurnerProducts RocketStoves Yea my 450W has a bronze certificate so hopefully I will be fine.
@@Justin-kd2uj do not give advice to others if you know shit.. holy crap, dude
6 years later, 1520/2250 dual oc 8gb (from aliexpress) stable and 70c gaming (with noctua fans throwing air)

Voltage 96 dont select 93 & 100 selected help please 93 crash pc 100 workern 1.287 voltage dangers ?
I have the same nitro+ sapphire rx 580+ graphic card however my power limit is 20 not 50 why so?
In the MSI settings you probably need to select 'Extend overclocking official limits' or whatever the option is called
