Methaqualone (Quaalude): What You Need To Know

- Methaqualone is a sedative that falls outside the benzodiazepine and barbiturate classes. It was once a popular pharmaceutical and recreational drug, but its current use is largely relegated to Africa, particularly South Africa.
Because it faced few restrictions when it first entered the market, the drug was widely prescribed and perceived as uniquely safe. We now know methaqualone can be used recreationally and can cause physical dependence.
A lot of lore exists around the effects. In reality, it's not a massively unique substance and it can be compared to barbiturates, ethanol, carisoprodol, and meprobamate.

@@roblet5047 actually no need for the phthalic anhydride, methyl anthranilate is available on eBay and in perfumery stores, one simple hydrolysis away from anthranillic acid. All the other precursors can be obtained on the internet, or your hardware store. Paint thinner, pool cleaner etc.

I need to catch up on my drugs. Quaaludes I think that's the proper spelling were odd. You'd feel great but lose a lot of motor function. This guys' hitting it right on the button. Not sure if my description would be any better. Are they still around?
It's not going to be anything like MDMA
It's not anything like X, it's a good buzz but it's kinda dangerous. Got a bottle of Parest 400 one time and road around selling them. 5 people wreck there cars that nite after they got some from me, not a good feeling. Cant think of another pill more dangerous to drive on

I was lucky enough to take an outdated quaalude back in the 90’s and to be honest it made me feel just like taking a few somas. Just my experience and maybe them being expired had something to do with it but it still felt great. 2 of those felt like what 4-5 somas felt like to me at least

I’ve only had the chance to do luudes twice as a teenager...wish I could get my old ass hands on them now
I've talked to a number of men & women (I'm 42) who have done this drug back in the day, and they said one pill was the equivalent of an entire case of beer. I asked them if it was good, and they said, "yeah, if you want to stay in one spot for a few hours". Just because something phucks you up doesn't guarantee it will make you feel good. Trazadone is a good example of bad strength.
Side effects -both rear quarter panels of your car smashed in from trees and poles.
We abused them as kids for almost a decade. Use to drive on them. Had a few mishaps but font-end damage always.

Its better because you get a very relaxed burst of energy. You also suddenly like your worst relatives or beoches you couldn't stand a day before...I still have some pics of me on ludes having a blast...ahhh the 70's - best music, best parties, so many bars and nightclubs to go to..oh & the best drugs

Methaqualone is awesome when smoked, very strong euphoric rush. It’s much nicer than benzos or barbs.
Smoking it is highly addictive, and tastes terrible. You won’t see it around much though.

It's a shame that this medication got banned due to idiots abusing it. I have chronic insomnia and I quite often have nights where I get no sleep so this medication would probably really help me. I sometime am not able to sleep for 2 to 3 days. I am prescribed Zolpidem witch does help me a lot and my sleep has been a lot better since Iv'e been on it but I still have nights where I can't sleep even with Zolpidem. If I was prescribed Methaqualone my sleep would probably be even better and because I never abuse medications it wouldn't cause me any problems but unfortunately due to idiots it has been banned.

@@Gruxx42 It is a completely different type of sleep medication that acts specifically on melatonin. It doesn't act on GABA like other sleep meds.

Love that stuff, my friend ordered 10 online from South Africa way before wolf of Wall street and it was well worth the price. Think it was like £50 for the tub and the two he gave me got me totally wasted. Also my drug worker gave me a routine urine screen the following Monday which I failed citing barbiturates, my worker said it was the only time in his entire career hed ever seen barbiturates show in a test, only checked for due to it being on the particular test kit they used. Don't know this video claims it not to be a barbiturate since if so, why did two mandrax tablets show up on my urine screen?
Anyway incredible drug I'd recommended anyone trys if you ever get the opportunity, if downers are your thing that is.

Even the bootleg ludes going around at the time were good in America.but they had valium ludes too.I uses to take a small bite and if they were bitter, they good, if they were sweet tasting, they were valium.
They say they were addicting so they dropped them. What about opiates or the other drugs? They were fantastic pills and fun to take. I don't think they were a widespread problem at all. Not too many around and hard to find.

My friend is from South Africa. He said he tried smoking it once with a bunch of tobacco and weed. He started foaming at the mouth instantly and fell back against a wall. :-)

They are not. This stuff does exist in Africa and apparently parts of India, but they are not exporting that shit to the western world. It is no longer a legitimate pharmaceutical anywhere on earth and the only way it is obtained is through clandestine labs.

You used to be able to buy 20mg Diazepam on the dark web (they were green) and they were exactly that and perfect pills like the actual prescription doses, so I guess they're pretty good at making their own pills. Actually, I recently got some "red devils"; they're 5mg Xanax bars, just like the 2mg bars but red.

@@misanthrope8803 I have done for several years and it's always been the real thing. Even when it's proper prescription alprazolam in the blister pack etc I always send a random few pills from each "batch" off for a very detailed testing before I take any. These "red devils" contain 5mg alprazolam (1.25mg per section) and no other active or dodgy ingredients.
I live in the UK and you cannot get benzo's here no matter what. I have VERY severe anxiety. If I couldn't buy one online I'd have killed myself years ago but it was so horrific. I don't actually abuse the alprazolam, I take a 1.25mg quarter three times a day and occasionally 2.5mg if I have a full-on panic attack.

My friend said she used to deal qualudes back in the day and her friend sold cocaine so they would take people for all their money, she would get them off the ludes and her friend would sober them up with the cocaine until no more money was left
