I live in the American South. To say summers are hot and humid is an understatement. I love linen. One of the first dresses I purchased for myself was a wash and wear linen dress. I literally wore it out. I was wearing a green linen set once to a family gathering, and one of my cousins touched the material and remarked, “You like the way that looks??” (She didn’t like the wrinkles.) She obviously mentioned it to another cousin, who looked her up and down and said, “Yes, but at least she’s NOT wearing polyester!” I had to go outside to laugh!
I live in Florida where the summer heat and humidity are off the charts. All I wear is linen during both summer and winter. Linen is such a wonderful material…I love it.
I LOVE linen♥️… I have shirts, trousers and dresses as well as knitted blouses in 100% linen yarn. Everything made by me… I love making my own clothes, and I choose fabrics of the best and sustainable quality… before seeing this very video, I was contemplating the purchase of a lovely black and white pinstriped linen fabric. For - yet another😅 - linen shirt. Yes I am obsessed😂… for linen lovers there is another fabric called RAMIE. It’s made from nettle fibers, and looks and feels very much like linen. Only a bit softer and does not wrinkle as much☺️… Thank you for this video♥️🙏 (I live in Denmark)
If I machine wash my linen, I put it in the dryer for about 5 minutes to get most of the big wrinkles out. If needed, I use a steamer vs. an iron to avoid that flat look that ends up wrinkling much sooner.
I do machine wash all of my linen, in cold water and using the delicate/handwash cycle. I mostly hang them all to dry, but will very occasionally put something in the clothes dryer. I live in Alabama and my favorite, most worn pieces of clothing are linen shorts, loose pants, dresses and 100% cotton tee shirts. I could actually have a 3 season capsule wardrobe with just my linen pieces. I buy new linen every yr. I can’t help myself. 😊
I am "linen obsessed" too. Linen in Summer and cashmere in winter. Both are fantastically durable, perfect for their respective seasons, and the pigmentation of both is phenomenal! Your linen choices are amazing!
Love this! I do wear all of them!!! I even sleep in it! Living in S. Florida is my way to face the hot weather in style. I do iron more in the summer but its ok with me, i take one day out of the week at night and iron everything, so I can wear all week long my linen pieces!! Quick tip: I use Vinegar instead of Fabric softener and it works; one cup with your loads and of course you can't smell it! Happy linen days!
I've been using white vinegar in my wash for 42 years. It's a natural disinfectant. Same thing with 50:50 ratio white vinegar and water in a spray bottle. Use it as a disinfectant in kitchen, around pets, children, food, etc. Smell evaporates in seconds. Puta few drops of essential oil ( lemon, eucalyptus, etc.)❤
Yesterday i noticed a young man wearing a linen shirt and linen shorts with Birkenstocks. He really stood out as looking stylish. So much nicer than the usual t shirt and shorts. I am a lover of linen as well. I have difficulty finding small enough sizes and need to alter them myself, and i will say its not long wearing fabric unfortunately.
I think the cut is very important, because sometimes linen can look a bit frumpy, particularly on someone with curves. I wish I could go with nothing under my shirt like you but it’s not possible. Nice video, thanks for posting.
I had two linen shirts but gave them away I am big busted and somehow they always looked untidy and creased. Have considered trying again but as we get no sun or heat it is not worth the effort
I have been wearing linen during the warmer months all of my life. My mom was a big linen wearer, and she introduced me to it. I have lots of linen dresses, pants and shirts. Though it does have to be steamed or ironed, I also love traveling with linen outfits as they are so lightweight and easy to mix and match. I think that a nice linen outfit looks so elegant and rich.
I love linen and have quite a few pieces. Even my bedsheets are linen! I love the fact that you're wearing it, wrinkles and all, to show that it's ok and is supposed to look that way when you're wearing it casually. For dressier pieces, I do iron them, but, of course, they end up getting wrinkled while wearing them, anyway. Thank you for this great video! ❤
Thanks to you I love linen now and bought a dark blue linen t shirt and 4 linen button down shirts, white, beige, blue and a white blue striped one. I am looking for linen trousers and a linen dress with pockets. Thank you for showing the clothes yourself. Love it.
I like all the linen short/shirt sets shown here. The navy set is a beautiful color on you. I never knew linen gets softer when washed. I am staring to get more linen outfits as it's almost summer now in CA. I enjoyed this video.
Ty! loved seeing this style of video❤ the way u use to film them by tryingvthings on & styling them while u chatted. Much love xx I love my light flowy black linen pants in summer with a tank or even as a bottom coverup for my 🩱
Best way to keep linen from excess creasing is using spray starch. I have been using it for years, I use it on the inside and outside of my garments. I've had some linen pieces for over 10 years and they're still looking great! Albeit it's not worn every day in Ireland!
I love linen shirts, pants and skirts I own a few pieces in linen I wear a lot of oat meal color to beige for the pants and skirts i wear them with a lot of knit shirts for spring and summer ❤and it also brings out my body shape a pear 🍐
I love linen in the summer, it’s so comfortable and I don’t mind if it has some wrinkles. It always looks very chic and effortless! It gets better with age too!
I love linen too. You've showcased these pieces well. So versatile. Instead of fabric softener (which wrecks your machine) I'd suggest vinegar added to rinse cycle or washing soda added to detergent drawer - it boosts detergent & is a fabric softener. I handwash a lot too; just soak in a bucket, rinse & hang up straight away dripping wet usually takes out the chunky creasing. 😊

J’ai toujours aimé le lin et j’ai quelques pièces pour l’été ! Merci Frédérique ❤ pour cette vidéo
Absolutely love linen in the summer. Your linen pieces are gorgeous and my favourites are button down shirts, dresses and blazers I already have in my wardrobe. It's completely forgivable for linen to get crinkled as I was told by a wonderful stylist many years ago, it's such an unique texture to enjoy. You look amazing! Merci pour votre conseil, Frédérique ❤
Frédérique, I took your advice and bought the Cliganic argon oil and the Embryolisse creme AND they are both wonderful products. Just a bit of the oil added to my regular lotion and Voila! Perfection. Thank you.

Great video! Now that summer in St. Louis is unbearable now, I have found that the loose linen short sleeve blouses are even cooler than linen t-shirts with cotton shorts. I just wish I could find a bra that keeps me cool too. Any suggestions? I wish I were young enough to go without one. I am thinking that a basic lightweight cotton bra with no underwires might be cooler and look okay since blouses are not tight like t-shirts. Thank you for the tips.
I had a linen t shirt that I wore so much that it actually wore out and even more amazingly - I mended the holes so I could keep wearing it! My absolute favorite fabric. I also love when non-English speakers translate what is in the smoothie as “linen” instead of “flax seeds.” (Not you Frederique!!)

Hi Frederique, I have several linen shirts in white, beige, khaki, navy and black. I wear them all the time in Summer, but what do you think of wearing them in Winter over a turtle neck sweater? Also, may I say, I love your short hair style, it’s very becoming on you. 🥰
Hi Frédérique You are so lucky you don’t have to wear a heavy duty bra😂😂😂. I bought a linen sweater. I did not even know that they made linen sweaters…great for a restaurant. I once had a beautiful black linen dress with one single long embroidered flower down the front. It said to dry clean. They ruined my dress and it was just a rag after. They did not compensate me. When you wear bras is there one you like best? ❤❤❤❤
If you sew, wash the linen fabric before you make the dress, pants, or blouse. The final garment will have wrinkles but the seams won't look shrunk. I discovered with pleasure that white or pale linen doesn't seems to keep and hold stains like polyester white clothes. Furthermore, if a stain should become permanent , linen can be dyed successfully. Contrary to polyester clothes, linen dont keep odors as much and you can wear the item for 2, 3 , 4 times before needing to launder it. That way, the piece of garment will last longer. Linen is better for the environment, asking it less often uses less water, soap and electricity.
Bonjour Frédérique, j'adore le lin que ce soit pour une femme ou un homme. Je trouve cette matière élégante et confortable. Tu es belle dans ta robe noire dos nu, j'aime beaucoup. 🖤🖤🖤
Linen has some great qualities, but it is not soft enough for my fragile skin and I don't like the look of its texture. I prefer mix with cotton or viscose.
