    This is one thing I love about this sport. The respect among the players and among the officials. Nobody ran to the official's face to complain about the hit. Adrian didn't flail his arms in the air like a girl when he got sent off. The official called him over and explained it briefly. So professional.

    You understand this is Rugby League. A game with no faked injuries and stretchers for players who hop off when they get to the side line. As opposed to football that has both (very classy). Rugby League captains don't fall over and roll on the ground trying to get penalties and a fellow player sent off unlike Steven Gerrard, v France. Rugby League players can enjoy a game of football. Football players would crap themselves in RL .

    Also statistics show that the ball is in play more in League, and that there are less breaks in play (penalties, ball in touch etc...). Studies have shown that in Union the ball is actually in play for only about avg.35 minutes per match, whereas in League the figure is around the avg.65 minute mark.

    @TheAsianWorm Its not like they use them for every decision. The fact that FIFA refuse to use the available technology just means that referees, most of the time through no fault of their own, will keep getting some decisions wrong that could be so easily avoided for the sake of 30 seconds. Plus how much time is wasted by players arguing against decisions? The referee is not going to change his mind so they would be better using that time playing the game rather than whinging all the time.

    @loopstheloop Well then I suppose the NFL, NHL, NBA, and MLB are "hardly examples serious sport on any level?" Officials in all of those leagues talk to players by their first name. Tennis officials address players in private discussions by their first name. You can be impartial and objective yet still personable. Formal linguistic register? Show me any league where officials have a formal linguistic register.

  • @Russell101
    @Russell101 14 ปีที่แล้ว

    @nano4288 A-fuckin-men to that brother. That's what makes our game great and football shit. Speaking as an Englishman I think he fully deserved to get sent off. It was high and dangerous and the referee wasn't scared to flash the red card within the first minute of the game, whereas in football someone could get away with a yellow card offence in the opening stages of the game, but get booked in the second half for exactly the same thing.

  • @kmank2
    @kmank2 14 ปีที่แล้ว

    Oh piss off "stephenm75." You've got no idea mate. Now I'm a proud Aussie who loves Rugby League, the biff and loves big hits. So long as it's legitimate. There's absolutely nothing tough about putting a swinging arm into the unprotected face of a charging prop at speed. It's a dog act as a matter of fact. If Morley laid Kearns out any other way, e.g. with a shoulder charge, with a chest high tackle, in fact any legitimate hit, than it would be good stuff. This is just weak.

  • @0077725
    @0077725 16 ปีที่แล้ว

    yeah, im sure they were gutted by getting beaten poms!!! but the fact remains that after the match they will come back and start the regular season, and will forget all about the match. To be more precise, the wcc is more of match practice for our season, which is far more important to the aussie team. like i said, if it was played in australia, the australian team would always win! im sure those leeds players that make the ngland side will be gutted when they fail at the world cup! revenge!!

  • @0077725
    @0077725 16 ปีที่แล้ว

    easy. its always played in england, an advantage to you, its always played on shit turf in shitty conditions, more advantages to you, and its not even during our season, its before ours even starts, while its during ur season. we have no match practice, so another advantage to you. How about we play it at sunny sncorp stadium when its 30 degrees and only a slight breeze. The club challenge means nothing to us because its all in ur favour, and national sides and league world cups are what matter!

  • @0077725
    @0077725 16 ปีที่แล้ว

    never heard of it, can be much of a competition. you fail to realise something. its all well and good that new zealand has good young players coming through the ranks, but australia has many more talented youngsters making their mark in the NRL. So your whole young people argument is for naught. Rugby league is always worth watching, you are just sick of ur crap team epically failing all the time. but its ok, they will get better...oh wait

  • @0077725
    @0077725 16 ปีที่แล้ว

    really, says who? who actually has the players, form and ability to beat us. historically, er have always had the better of new zealand and the poms, and the last few years have been no different. so what in hell makes you think that we will be beaten. nz doesnt even have a national comp. and englands is rather weak. you only have 12 teams, and a lot of players in england are australian. its hosted in australia, in our centenary year. there is no way we are going to lose. ur dreaming, wake up!

    Rugby league has the sheer intensity,toughness,power etc that other sports can only dream about. It makes soccer look like a 5 y.o. girls tea party. Makes NFL look like childs play. We don't need big helmets & shoulder pads. There is nowhere to hide in league. From time to time you will get thugs like Morley but they are quickly rubbed out & dealt with. A high tackle from a British Rugby league player is hardly a strong indicator of British society. You're just using an isolated and relatively common rugby infraction to have a pop at the UK. Australian Rugby players have been known to make high tackles too you know? I'll give you some links if you'd like so you can make sweeping judgments about Australian society.

    Running rugby, seriously?
    Majority of union is based upon territory, involving kicking away possession if in your own half and in most games i watch a significant portion of your 'running rugby' is just getting the fat forwards to get the ball and make about half a metre, spend 30 seconds resetting and then repeating until they drop the ball or a penalty is given.

    Aussie is not naturally tougher breed than ours cos we brought up awful shitty dark weather unlike aussies, our lifestyle is not good as aussies so we get used at it by toughen up while growing up

    i was being sarcastic that your 3000 people make more noise than 27 000. Ive seen games at london and you could hear a pin drop and bogans asking, wheres the round ball?!?!

  • @turtle199
    @turtle199 16 ปีที่แล้ว

    haha great stuff, 3000 londoners making more noise than the 27000 people who were at the gold coast game, which i was at. League in england is dying and everyone knows it.

    also, we havent lost a rugby league world cup final since 1972. england/gb has only won on 3 occasions, and new zealand not at all. the trophy is as good as ours. ouch!

    What an absolute prat. Don’t the coaches teach rules? A complete liability to his team mates.
    No matter how good you might be, you’re no good to anyone if you’re not playing.

    morley played in the wrong era,if he played in the 70's or 80's he would have loved it.
    not one nrl player in todays game would have survived back then.

    This video just demonstrates rugby's superiority over football (soccer). They took the time to review what had just happened so that they could give the right decision, and when he was shown the card, him and his mates didn't crowd round the referee protesting his innocence, he just ran off the pitch and that was that. Oh, and it was an awful tackle and he deserved to be sent off, just in case anybody was wondering.....
