One thing I like Japanese people they believe in cleanliness. There fish wet market, restaurant, streets, always clean. I enjoyed watching there videos because everything are all clean. Some others countries there fish wet market are gross...
HIIII!!!!! About the Canadian shirt thing. In my vlog which is not released yet, I had a layover in Vancouver where I talked about how much I love Vancouver and that I needed a Vancouver shirt. So i bought one and just so happens it has a huge Canadian flag on it, thats it. There was no further thought process. And btw I LOVE that shirt! Its soft...you'd be surprised how many shirts just feels like wearing starched up cotton.
I just went to Japan 2 weeks ago for the first time ever and I got to say, I loved the fish market. It was sooo yummy. Plus I got some amazing tips and advice from watching your channel. Such a blessing and also keep up the amazing/awesome job. I would like to inspire and teach others like how you teach me and millions of viewers about food. Much love from Fresno.
It's just a travel strategy that some Americans do because a lot of people hate Americans, but that's something that I heard people only do when visiting Europe.
wow honestly watching this while going on a diet is extremly hard also because mike makes every food extremly good! love ur vids mike! ur honestly the best and one of my fave youtubers ilysm!
I've watched far too many of Mike's videos. I love the amount of food Mike can put away and also, the way he dances when he has something *really* good!
W Locke to Tokyo! That as awesome to watch. Glad you enjoyed this place and the food you tried. I'm the same with you when it comes to sea urchin. Just can't get used to it.
TabiEats you guys should do a video together!! that would be awesome! btw, love ur channel well, loved the live Christmas and looking forward to the live New Years video!! :)
Welcome to Tokyo, I know you love street foods, make sure you hit up Omoide Yokocho aka "Memory Lane" hidden spot in Shinjuku with old feel.. awesome cheap food. Enjoy your stay in Tokyo
next time im in tokyo, im gonna get a place next to the market - one visit was not enough..! then ill have the pleasure of passing through it multiple times a day. another good thing to buy at the tsijuki market is a japanese traditionally hand-crafted kitchen knife. beautiful. if you get one expensive, versatile one it will last you a lifetime, and every time you chop and cut you'll enjoy it. worth the money if you like cooking, i think.
first time watching these guy and i like him so much cuz he is the kind of person that is polite and never gets in trouble or drama and he doesn't care about money but he cares about life so thats why i like this guy.
Omg I absolutely love your video specially the seafood plate you had in your hand Wow. It be such a big dream come true to visit a place like that. Thanks for sharing. :)
dailydianna he looks so much like Jackie chan it's not even funny. I showed my mom one of his videos and she immediately said Jackie chan had a love child outside somewhere lol
koushinproductions I had urchin here in Tsikiji market, Tokyo, but It tasted like iron to me :/ They said that I should go to Hokkaido. The urchin in Hokkaido is different and more creamy with light yellow color. I hope that I can try it again in Hokkaido. I don't give up.
Love watching you and Mark's videos!!! I think it's because you guys are so courteous to your host countries and just make everything look amazing!!! Maybe a video with food ranger too!!! That would be an awesome episode!!!
I'm a Japanese. We have both. Dashi Maki Tamago, which is served at Izakaya, is normally salty and it's a kind of appetizer going with alcohol drinks. Also, it varies depending on the region.
Nanako Mine well, i work with sushi and with tamago in relation to that, its almost always sweet. considering Mike's at a fish market, he should expect sweet tamago
Can't help but notice that you are very American, which is a good thing. You're very open, expressive, and friendly but you also totally stand out amongst the Japanese. You may look East Asian but your language and attitude showed that you had more of a western upbringing. I don't mean to offend it's just something I've come to notice being a hafu in Japan
i dont know you're a man with some super power or just a vlogger but last time when i was planning to go Taipei, Taiwan. your vlogs give me some small guide for food adventure, and couple weeks ago, i start to plan my japan trip and again you gudie me there. Thanks Mikey
I watched sooo many food bloggers, but you're the most interesting. You can eat different foods in 1 video. You show many too. I watch Mark Wen all day in my salon. From now on, just your. Thump up
Hi Mike..... Big fan of ur channel and ur food escapades around the world. Your love for spicy food is something that i share. Those sushi temples with the long lines are some of the best anywhere. I made it into Sushi Dai in 20 minutes at lunch. It was Saturday. Beyond description. It was like a church - we were afraid to talk. But they were friendly. Keep ‘em coming.

Mike, I've always dreamed about going to Japan and just stay at that market for a day. Like breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I just don't like traveling alone.

"I feel like the ocean threw up in my mouth." Same thing I was thinking when I got a deepfried Seastar in my Calamari at a cheap fish shack. Bottom of the ocean tasting. Not good.
That crab paste according to my Japanese friend at work is actually Crab "guts" which are creamed and then served in a shell... it is actually an Okinawan specialty and generally only older generations like it... (it was very popular in 1980's)
"this crab is a prime example of why you should be yourself" lol beautiful
Geo Tapia i thought he was telling me to *ahem* "beat" myself
Actually I was thinking “you should be yourself if you’re delicious or beautiful”
I love it
Beautiful crab
That’s what made me hit subscribe
One thing I like Japanese people they believe in cleanliness. There fish wet market, restaurant, streets, always clean. I enjoyed watching there videos because everything are all clean. Some others countries there fish wet market are gross...
Yea, most asian fish markets stink except for Japanese and Korean market
@@minhhangtranthi2211 Korean is relatively cleaner but not very.
CHAWRAK Axom nah Korea is more dirty than japan. I’ve been to both places however korea is definitely cleaner than America!
@@minhhangtranthi2211 try the Indian local meat and fish market you can't survive the smell-😔
The cleanliness of a lot of other countries is so horrible you would wanna puke the moment u step in
"This crab is the prime example of why you should just be yourself" thank you for the life changing advice. I aim to be a delicious crab now.

I actually saw you at the Nishiki market in Kyoto, but didn't get to say hi because it was so crowded then
I also hate Sea Urchin, where are you from Mikey?
The funny thing is, you seem to look like a typical Japanese person but have more incomen with Johny the cowboy. ^^

CarrionSmile get ready to bring lots of money bc hotels n eating at restaurants are expensive in Japan ! !
I know, right? I have to take out a loan just to buy a piece of fruit in Japan. haha
So you were watching this video vicariously?
That “seafood platter” on the shell is everything!!!! The sea urchin looks good as well!!!!
Your videos always make my mouth water. Glad you enjoyed Tsukiji!
wow honestly watching this while going on a diet is extremly hard also because mike makes every food extremly good! love ur vids mike! ur honestly the best and one of my fave youtubers ilysm!
strawberry mochi is called daifuku by the way. Also the stuff in the crab shell is basically every part of the crab ground up into a paste.
Sena-san thank you. Was curious.
Raj Jb Go be a creep somewhere else. Every time you commeted you were greasy and slimy, you come off as desperate.
MsCherade9 Hahahahaha
Sena-san how much ¥does it take to equal $1.00 USD?
eLem3nT about 115
yen is around a dollar in US currency.
I've watched far too many of Mike's videos. I love the amount of food Mike can put away and also, the way he dances when he has something *really* good!
Anyone else sitting watching this thinking "Wow, I wish someone would love me as deeply as Mike loves food"? xD
This is why Japan is one of my favorite places to visit.

Hi
“I feel like the ocean threw up in my mouth.” 😂
Tamago is always slightly (or more than slightly) sweet. So you got the real stuff.
Welcome to Japan, Mike! Jump on the train for 30 minutes and let me show you around my hometown of Kamakura!
I wanna go to Japan right now lol
Good on you bro I follow other channels of yours. I love your authenticity. You tell it like it is, refreshing.

I absolutely love the video quality!! Love watching you Mike!!
Lmao. I love all the stares that Mike gets when he vlogs.
Raj Jb Wtf is wrong with you...

If you want to see the fish auction, you probably need to get there before dawn.
that would still be too late. 3am.
ino12badayu Probably so, as most auction ended before dawn. Anyhow, I would trade the mochi for a chirashi don.
first time watching these guy and i like him so much cuz he is the kind of person that is polite and never gets in trouble or drama and he doesn't care about money but he cares about life so thats why i like this guy.

I'm going to Japan within this year and I think your video is really helpful for me.

Omg I absolutely love your video specially the seafood plate you had in your hand Wow. It be such a big dream come true to visit a place like that. Thanks for sharing. :)
i love how every single person in the background is like O_O
it is high quality & expensive street food ,you know .
I was not expecting a "be yourself" speech when I clicked on this video. It was surprising and delightful. I really like your food inspired advice.
Im surprised no one ran up to you thinking you're Jackie chan!
he doesn't even look like jackie chan....
dailydianna he looks so much like Jackie chan it's not even funny. I showed my mom one of his videos and she immediately said Jackie chan had a love child outside somewhere lol
dailydianna he does look like his relative
LMAO i thought i was the only one who thinks that!
WiseguyRaven
One of the best channels on TH-cam... Awesome videos.
Mikey: "I feel like the ocean threw up in my mouth." Lol!
I am back at the good side of the internet got stuck on the side with food I won't touch, this channel literally makes my mouth water!!!
I love sea urchin, don't know why it tasted like that for you, it tasted a very creamy salty egg yolk for me. But hey taste is subjective :).
koushinproductions me too. I think it's yummy
This is a stab in the dark, but are you from Scandinavia?
koushinproductions I had urchin here in Tsikiji market, Tokyo, but It tasted like iron to me :/ They said that I should go to Hokkaido. The urchin in Hokkaido is different and more creamy with light yellow color. I hope that I can try it again in Hokkaido. I don't give up.

tamago is supposed to be sweet
I was surprised he didn't know that. It's usually slightly to mildly sweet, though, and maybe what he got was a lot sweeter than normal.
tomago literally just means "grilled egg" you can make it sweet or salty or whatever the f u want.
idol hands it is traditionally sweet because tamago is typically a meal ender, like a dinner mint
So fun watching you consume everything in sight !
The brown goo is crab tomalley, part of the crab itself, and considered a delicacy. And yes, there's sugar and sometimes mirin in tamagoyaki.
Watching this while waiting for my frozen microwave mac and cheese to cook is just depressing lol
I've been binge watching all of Mike's videos the last couple days. I would expect no less of a personality from someone who has the name Mike!
i love sea urchin! personally, it is best for me eating with rice
zjjca i also love sea urchin, freshly grated wasabi and soya sauce and a little citrus and I’m in heaven
I love sea urchin too! In Fiji we make a lemon and chilli dip/sauce and eat it with either taro or cassava. It’s amazing!
i dont know you're a man with some super power or just a vlogger but last time when i was planning to go Taipei, Taiwan. your vlogs give me some small guide for food adventure, and couple weeks ago, i start to plan my japan trip and again you gudie me there. Thanks Mikey
"lemme just shove the strawberry deeper into the mochi" ;) ;)
Dirty minded ;);)
I watched sooo many food bloggers, but you're the most interesting. You can eat different foods in 1 video. You show many too. I watch Mark Wen all day in my salon. From now on, just your. Thump up
You're reaction to sea urchin reminds me of my reaction to shrimp. Everyone else loves it but I cannot get past the texture.
I want to visit this place one day. So many unique foods. Japan has some of the freshest food & good in quality. Thank you for your review!
Grilled scallop with uni ?!?!? 🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤

"I learned my Japanese through anime"
Bruh, I'm so confused cuz a lot of Japanese people will say that the Japanese that comes from anime is usually wrong but then this guy survived the day just using what he learned from anime. Also, the vendors there spoke a little English, so I give them props for being dedicated and considerate.

I get so much joy out of watching Mike getting so excited when eating haha!
how do you order food when u dont know the language? just point and make grunts?
Most education systems in other countries are required to teach english.
Most of the vendors there can speak some amount of English, .....it is a tourist place
*In the manliest voice ever*
"Sugoi desu onii-chan. Kawaii desu chan. Kawaii kawaii"
Most Japanese understand English, they are shy a bit lol - In some ramen shop, you just order with a machine, hand ticket over....smile.
There are posters and price tags and everyone understands simple pointing and other hand gestures.
can watch these videos all day.
What street are you in cause I might go there by next year, so I want to experience what you are experiencing in the vid.
Love it that you are honest about what foods you like or not. But can't help but thinking when watching you eat the really good ones, that you should get a room.
The ocean called. They’re running out of shrimp
Well the jerk store called, and they're running out of you.
