kalau boleh saya sarankan lagi, kalau makan yang enak seperti bakso, if I may suggest again, if you eat something delicious like meatballs, chicken noodles or something else, if there's sauce or soy sauce, try it so that it tastes better according to taste, You can add chilies if you can stand it 😂😂

Blok M is my favorite hang out place during my years as student in the 1980's...... It was also a centre Point of bus routes in South Jakarta.....

Hi guys, nice of you to visit Blok M area as one of my favorite past time place to visit.
If you're still in Jakarta now, why not wake up early (really early like 6 a.m.) on Saturday or Sunday and go to Gelora Bung Karno. You will find hundreds of sports enthusiasts walking around the stadium and the Sudirman and Thamrin streets (sundays only).
Not to mention the street vendors, of course.

If you coming back again to Blok M on november 2023, they will held ennichisai events there. Its japanese culture events that japanese community & Japan embassy in Jakarta held every year and always crowded. Blok M is a place where most japanese gathered and making businesses there. You would find so many japanese restaurants, karaoke pubs & bars, even supermarket for japanese foods etc. Blok M area is famous with the name little tokyo. I wish you have a great time ❤

you should put kecap manis, tomato sauce, and sambal combined with bakso soup, and the orange drink is actually orange, why warm, to make it an easy sugar blend because we not using blender.. and the banana molen OG one only banana without chocolate, and singkong goreng means fried cassava actually very different with potato you should try next.

another unique from Blok M is Kue Subuh (Cake Market on morning - 03.00 till 07.00 am), you'll find a lot of Indonesian cake and also cheap. if both of you still on jakarta just wake up at 5.30 am on sunday morning for visit early cake market and then contonie with car free day start from Senayan and then walk to along Sudirman street,

About the vendor people who you said were nice and did not necessarily put you on the spot, I think it really was because of your vibes too. The two of you are very laid back and nice that people can't help being nice back. Some of our sellers can be pushy, make no mistake 😂
The streets behind the Blok M Mall also have a lot of delicious food, but yea, after a day in the mall, especially with the food festival already, you wouldn't be able to eat any more!

you have to try putu and klepon cakes (one place).. it's one of Indonesia's traditional cakes.. if you hear a sound "tttuuuuuuuuuuuuutttttt" like a flute.. thats it..😆
Suggestion: buy 10 first (5 putu 5 klepon) if you like it, buy some more 😆 and when you eat klepon, eat 1 straight, don't half.. you will feel an interesting sensation.. have fun 🙏

while you in jakarta here is some food you must try in here: martabak manis (sweet) dan martabak telur(egg), soto betawi, pecel lele (cat fish :D), nasi uduk (a lot of good nasi uduk around kebon kacang), nasi ulam (there is a good one in china town glodok), and maybe you should try konro makassar in kelapa gading area, or iga panglima in the Radio dalam area.

Enjoy your travel here in Indonesia, guys! And please keep healthy and safe during your journey. If I may recommend, please come to Jakarta's (or even Indonesia) biggest amusement park (sort of like Disneyland of Indonesia) in North Jakarta. It's called Dufan (Dunia Fantasi/Fantasy World) where you can DO alot of FUN (no pun intended. Lol). And don't come in the weekend or above 11am, so you can enjoy as much as you can, bcs the place is big.

Yes, there's warm orange juice. It may be weird for foreigners, but some local people enjoy drinking warm orange juice in cold weather or when they're sick and in need of vitamin c that's also warm their throat and stomache

Yummy, pastell blok M jakarta enak, lecker, delicious. Dulu di blok M kebayoran baru, sekolah saya SMP ( Sekolah Menengah Pertama ) sekarang tempatnya jadi toko toko, streetfood dan juga terminal bus.
you like the Soup kind a food, try Soto, and Indonesia have many kinds of Soto, in example. Soto Betawi, and order it with "Daging Saja" or "Just meat", because the standard it will come with liver, and some internal organ of cow. Soto Betawi's broth mixed with coconut milk, so it's like a thick broth. Another kind of Soto is Soto Mie, usually the Cart of this Soto Seller have distinctive color which is Blue and Yellow, so this Soto's broth don't mixed with coconut milk, so it's clearer than Soto Betawi, but both of them have a specific taste to get a name Soto, which is you can taste a little sourness of Lime... and dont forget to drop Sambal and Soy Sauce in them, i promise you it will blow your mind.

haha yeah in our country you can find a seller warm orange juice, it actually squeezed orange juice mixed with warm water and sugar, but we call it juz jeruk hangat 😆

Thank goodness 😂 Blok M was a particularly popular area in the 1980s, and the area you were at is located near the so-called ‘Little Tokyo’ which explains the Japanese-themed places that you might have encountered along the way. Curiously, I think you’re using ‘pasar malam’ like how the term is used in Malaysia where it mainly refers to a street food affair. In Indonesia ‘pasar malam’ usually refers to evening fairgrounds held to welcome important holidays.
- Our pastel is supposed to get its inspiration from Portuguese savory pastel, but yeah, it looks nothing like anything you’d see in Portugal.
- That was fragrant jasmine tea that you had.
- That’s not rice cake stuffed inside the tofu, it’s beef paste. OK now that I’ve typed it I realize that that sounds gross, but I promise you it’s good stuff.
- It was indeed fresh orange juice, just that the cheap oranges are usually pretty sour so they would add sugar and hot water to dilute it in.

Actually that's a real thing here guys...even some people call it as "es jeruk panas" which basically translated as hot iced orange juice! This is because people really used to with iced orange juice (es jeruk) term, but they want it the hot version, so they accidentally say it as "es jeruk panas" 😅
