another Amazing video. I am over 65 years old and like Luke ,i believed point pedro is the northern most point of sri lanka. I was wrong . we were in Jaffna in 2019 and stumbled upon casuarina beach and that was the best beach i have ever seen. Kirimalai is an interesting place too as it is pool by the sea but i think it is fresh water!

I think point pedro is little bit far from india than thalai mannar. In thalai mannar you can see india. Because of the triangle shape of india. You can see the broken bridge to india in mannar.

No one in the world like war and killing other than poor politicians and leaders, they know how to fool their people, they create division by race, colour, religion etc etc... poor people didn't understand the reality and most of the victims of war also poor people not politicians or higher people. In Sri Lanka war is created by politicians , still people believe LTTE like to kill others, but reality is, people who live knows the pain and lost by government terrorism towards minority Tamils, and Tamil people start to fight against government but government educate their majority people and the others Tamils terrorism. Please kindly check government terrorism killed and did more damage than LTTE. If I tell the truth people simply say I am a LTTE supporter, but I always against them what they did the bad for their own people during end of war.
I am always people's side whether Sinhalz, Tzmil , Muslim or whoever.... because I believe the human values, please dear fellow Srilankans come out from the box of Racism and Buddhism actually load Buddha taught good things but poor people who saying they are Buddhist not following the true path showed by Buddha, but I agree some people following real Buddhism.

Beautiful Jaffna. The house is abandoned and i wonder what happened to the people that used to live there. Even after 13 yers after the end of the war, its still haven't been repaired. The lemongrasses keeps the mosquitoes away. 🦟 natural mosquito replant. Thank you 🙏🏽🇨🇦

I am happy that you are focusing on these beautiful areas. If you look at Sri Lanka the North, North western and the Eastern provinces are neglected by the Government. These places are systematically deprived of development Yet there are very beautiful areas and beaches to see. If you look at SL where the Minorities live then you can see one thing for sure. That is all these areas are the poorest in the country as they are underdeveloped. The government of SL is least bothered and they always look at everything based on Racial Lines. They are 100 years behind modern society. Only private investors and Diasporas invest in these areas. Now the tourists from India and other western countries are getting interested because of people like you showing these parts of the country. Now there is a very good potential that many tourists can come from India and other countries. These places are much cheaper than Colombo, and many other areas. There are also less tourist Scammers and less crime, Pollution I am sure. So Tourists can enjoy peaceful days. I used to live in SO many years ago but now I live in Europe for many years including Germany. Your videos are bringing focus of these provinces and lets hope it will bring more tourists so that the marginalized people of SL can serve the tourists and earn a decent living without becoming Greedy

One of the main reason why civil war started , Sinhala majority government burned this library in 1981. That time this was the biggest library in Asia with more than 100 thousands of books, because why? Pure racism, then this racism created in Sri Lanka and grown by politicians for divide the communities, now whole Sri Lankans are paying for their racism . Keep it mind Singapore builder great leader Lee made statement during his visit to Sri lanka in 1950s, I want to build my Singapore as Sri Lanka, but the whole Srilankans are the responsible for the choosed wrong leaders and destroyed our beautiful motherland. Dear my fellow Srilankans please keep in mind, we all should come out from racism, and choose good Leaders and build our Nationan. Come out from Racism and come out from Religiousm.
Note . Road between Point Pedro and KKS , Recently opened, that fully controlled by Srilankan Military, high security area, and you know one thing, this area is valuable good soil land still most of them under Military, only 10% returned to owners by Srilankan government Army.
Another point, you visited abandoned house those was build in 1950s, imagine how rich and educated community of Jaffna in 1950s, this created hateness, because just one millions population of Jaffna ruled the whole education of Sri Lanka .
Go and check before 1980, the quata system created, before 90% of University students are from Jaffna.
Another point, this valuable community moved to UK, Canada , Europe and Australia due to war, nearly more than half millions as diaspora

@@TwoMadExplorers Thank you for your kind reply and visit to our place, every event has two sides, mostly people seeing one side , please get more from other side aslo, people always good and kind, but leaders and biased medias divide the people by race, religion , casts etc etc, because leaders/ cheaters always knows the fact, if people unite they can't survive. Faults of Sinhala majority people are they believed what they heard from their leaders and not tried to understand other side's view, Tamil people's fault is they fought against the biased government but failed to tell the truth to Sinhala people.
Now Sinhala majority people realised the real face of rulers when the rulers face any problems. Yes dear Sinhala brothers and sisters please kindly understand the fact, rulers always have same goals, people are their least priority, they will do and go for any extreme to safeguard themselves, this is what we learned in past during civil war.

@@TwoMadExplorersomg I didn't expect your reply thanks for saying this I'm very happy now 💝 but as you said you like to talk with tamils with this problems and also civil war. but that's not gonna happen cuz tamils cant talk openly about this civil war or this problems that can threaten their life even world famous channels like chanel 4 they blured the faces of victims but if you visit Canada by any chance try to have conversations with Canadian Tamil diaspora. And even we also went to India as a refugee in heavy civil war on 2007 and came back to srilanka on 2013.
Now there is not more problems like before but they illegally immigrate in tamil areas and also government and monks build Buddhist temples near old tamil hindu temples so tourist can easily attract to new builded buddha temples and avoid tamil temples.same like that srilankan government focus on sinhala districts to renovate and build more tourist areas they never done anything in tamil areas that's why there is a much different between war affected area northeast ex:jaffna and sinhalese living area south ex:Colombo. Tamils living area are being renovated by tamils and tamil diasporas but sinhala areas are renovated and builded more tourist areas by government.
So thats why most of the tourists avoid north and east.

Jaffna is a city that has more casts which so prominent. Highest cast families you can spot with land wall or gate mounted with cow. another level cast level of family they decorate their walls or gate decorate with peacock or lamp and so on.
Every member cannot put land walls by cement. some walls are made from palmyra leaves. some cast has half walls from palmyra and come wall has 4-5 tall with palmyra leaves.
This is the only region in Sri Lanka which highlight casts display on gates or walls.
You are 100% correct that was before 1990s, sorry dear friend, nowadays in Jaffna the cast system mostly vanished, only remaining in arrange marriages. This is witnessed statement from Jaffna who live since birth . You can see big houses by any people and all are wall bounded, if you have money, yes you can build what you want.
India cannot be seen from PointPedro. Sometimes Indian telecom tower can be seen from a place called Thalaimannar. Across the park strait, India is just 54.8 Km from Thalaimannar
