Finally got another one coming back into the collection after I made the mistake of selling mine almost a year ago. I batoned my old one. Thing called me a pussy and told me to hit it harder

I have the black DLC shf and the new Viking long boat “til Valhalla” versions. And out of ALL of my folders I carry them the most by far. Don’t need bearings or any of that nonsense. Bearings are more trouble than they’re worth if you actually use your knives you know what I mean. I cut a sharpening choil into both of my harseys and they’re perfect now. My Viking model has a little bit too much play between the blade and the pivot bushing so I’m hoping a new bushing will solve it. Otherwise I’ll need a new blade fitted to the knife. But I can live w that.

I just bought the Viking Longboat Edition. I happen to like the eyched Scales, but I must say im a little jealous of this one also... I love the simplicity of it, and I am glad that aside fro the personal Scale taste, it appears to be a kick ass knife.. and theyre up to $550 now, so Relish $460 the choil thing I wouldnt have noticed, but now I cant un notice.. Great Review

That's the exact one I want. I've got a little less than half saved up to get one. Great review Peter 👍

Hinderer wanna be with a agressive marketing campaign on par with the onslaught of a military operation.
not saying it’s not a great knife just not convinced by the Chris reeve price tag.
Would have to hold one to be convinced.
Folk could learn from there business strategy I just prefer knives that emerge from the depths on there own merit with little advertisement.

I always support retired/active military. They’re not hinderer wana bees. Chris reeve himself helped design the Spartan harsey….

This is my grail. Something I wouldn't risk shipping to Canada, and $640 to buy within Canada.😳 I'm not there yet as that's twice as much as my most expensive knife, maybe someday. Thanks Peter!

Thanks, ATE/Peter, for the review. This is an extra-military grade blade for extra-military grade men /women designed and built by ex(tra)-military men/women. I have purchased and handled the Difensa and SHF for special/military gifts ... Spartan Elite blades are just fantastic. One day (soon) I will own them for myself. My answer to the question "if you could have only one folder and one fixed balde for life?" ... Spartan Harsey Difensa and SHF. Period.

Sharpening Coils is done within 5 minutes, I actually prefer not to have one as many makers do em wrong, and the blade catches into whatever materials you are cutting.

You're not wrong of course adding a choil is very easy. However for my personal preference I like to have one and I don't think I should have to do that to a $400 knife. In the end with all the excellent options out there we can all choose whats right for us.

Nice review ATE. My taste in knives is creeping...no! Now if they did a Star War's theme Harsey, instant buy! Ok, in my mind at least.👍
