    I am SO HAPPY to have discovered your system...I prefer all over the place hand stitching, and a whole
    quilt on my lap is just too much. I am very grateful for your tutorial.

    I've watched this video multiple times. Love how simple you make it look, and yet it's very detailed showing each step "easy peasy". Sometimes sashing just doesn't look right on a quilt - in such that it breaks up the flow of the blocks. This makes it so much easier to quilt on our domestic machines (which usually have such a small throat).

    To make the batting trimming a little easier, just overlap the left and right batting pieces, then carefully cut through both layers (making sure you're only cutting batting). Lift away the excess batting you just cut off (from top and bottom pieces) and the cut edges should line up perfectly no matter how not-quite-straight there were cut. Not even a little extra bulk that way. :)

      @@TeresaDownUnder Found it in a book years ago and use this method for joining batting pieces in larger quilts. A bit unwieldy (but doable) in a quilt, it'd be perfect for these QAYG blocks. Thanks for sharing this tutorial. :)

    This is great!!!! I love guilt-as-you-go but don't always like sashing in my quilts; can be distracting. Have a project just waiting for these instructions. Bravo!!! Thanks a lots, Teresa, for sharing.

    Thank you. I have seen similar videos with NO hand sewing, but they didn’t explain how to leave the edges unquilted and sew the front of the blocks together. I think I would combine their method and yours, plus zigzag the trimmed batting together after butting up the edges.

    Instead of hand sewing the batting together, why couldn't you use fusible batting tape? That would at least eliminate part of the hand sewing which I really dislike. Thanks for the video.

    I’m doing this in queensize. 110 squares. The first row is completed. I’ve got the other 10 rows stitched together, batting done and about ready to start sewing the backing down on each row. I did this on first row already. Now after reviewing, if I put the first two rows together, the backing is sewed all the way to the edge. I can not attach the rows together without ripping out from the front fabric thru all layers from edge to start of the inch on front fabric so I can attach each row. Now I’m stuck. Not sure how to do the other 10 rows snd then connect rows.

    • @TeresaDownUnder
      @TeresaDownUnder  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, sewing the rows together is no different from sewing the individual blocks. I can’t picture your problem. Can you please send me a picture via Instagram or upload it to my Facebook group please
