If you could make a serried just on this that would be great! Like how to start and launch a company as a complete newbie junior developer. I’d rather work as a freelancer for 250k than at a company for 500k

You dont come as a contractor, but as a company. If you are an LLC, you can get to a point where you pay virtually zero taxes@OfficialByteBurst

I don't think a newbie anything should be starting a company in the first place, you really need to build up your network of industry contacts and savings to invest into the business and secure yourself first. It helps to establish yourself in the industry first, this gives you an edge pitching yourself to clients too. You will not make much money starting out because you're lacking the 3 things clients really care about: testimonials from others you've performed work for, strong portfolio of projects, and strong reputation in the industry through word of mouth and accomplishments. Chris worked for several years and positioned himself to be able to strike out on his own. If you produce content demonstrating your skills or a blog it helps too.

@@TheSoulCrisis yeah I was planning to start with freelancing first to at least get real experience, then maybe a 9-5. Definitely want some experience before jumping in head on to business

Thank you for not making it sound glossy and easy so we have a clear picture of what we are looking at in terms of the business. Great Video!

The first part of the video is good but the second half is just an advertisement.

That was an incredible tip for finding clients. I like that cold email approach because it puts some of the control back in your hands, and it feels a bit more hopeful than just firing off applications. I'm going to give it a shot so that I can finally get started freelancing. And just in case anyone is looking for front end talent, I'm a front end engineer with 6 years of experience, specializing in TypeScript and React 😁
Also, I didn't know Wix had so many interesting features like back end code and a cloud IDE! Very nice.

It doesn't make a difference, I use an "advanced senior" tech stack and the none tech people don't care about it "bosses".

I am confused. The title of this video is "How to Become a Freelance Web Developer" but the contents is about how to run a web development company. Sure, there are overlaps, and many freelancers will eventually start companies. But one step at a time, shall we?

Your awesome Chris, I aspire to gain the type of revenue you have acquired. :) I work pure commission sales jobs with web agency owners in the realtor and plumbing niche. :)

Hey man, thanks for an informative video. Does it make to niche down, let's say to only e-commerce? Also, do you have any statistics on how successful cold outreach is? Do you use LinkedIn for this?

Hey @RealChrisSean, thanks for the video. Fantastic content!
Quick question, so when you hunt for clients you look for just web development positions (ie: websites , e-commerce, etc...) or front-end development as well? And you aim for projects with a clear beginning and an end or ongoing work?
I ask cause most of the open positions out there are for permanent work to do long term maintenance or something...
    Thanks again mate!

Hi, is it realistic to learn web design from scratch and start as freelance directly? or should always gain corporate experience first?
