Great videos Richie... Straight up important stuff... I like a lot Thanks for sharing and hope you have time to make a few more new videos if you are still using the dream rig...! A live video using the dream rig would be awesome...!
Dude, you totally helped me make my decision about getting this bad boy. Thanks. I really like the almost limitless customization. This thing has a built-in noise gate?! Awesome. I have used pedals for so long and love a quality stompbox but they have their quirks and limitations. Plus, its hard to play the tap dancing game all the time. I'm convinced!
Hey Rich, As a dream rig user I always enjoy your videos. Two questions, one: are your patches available on the line 6 custom tone site? Two: how do you work with the dual tone latch with the stage source? Do you just pick one side to monitor, or sum to mono? If summing, how do you deal with the phase issues associated with different mics/cabs? Cheers!
I guess I should upload these sounds. Next time I work on this stuff I'll upload these tutorial sounds. For the speaker, you really need 2 stage source speakers or the stereo amp to take advantage of the dual amp setup. If I were only using one, I'd probably just pick the best sounding amp and go with that. I always play mono on stage, so I rarely use the dual amp function. I just did it here for educational purposes on this video. I had to use the direct out on the pod for this video. It's too hard to mike up a cabinet that has a woofer and a tweeter and convey what it sounds like. So here in mainly using the stage source as a monitor.
hello nice preset when i make a preset with no amp and compression like yours , i need to cut off a lot of bass frequencies , i have such a patch for 6 years , i wonder why you dont need to what pickup do you use please ? i use sh2 and tone zone this is weird
Okay, how... how do you not have the "hollow/flutter" sound using the modelling and high gain? I hear a little, but it's so bad for me I can't use it. I have the JTV-59 and it's unusable. I'm running a PODX3Live and a UX1 for recording. I love my JTV, but the inability to use the modelling is a letdown. I have the latest updates and all the jazz. Great vids btw.
I'm not sure what you mean by the hollow/flutter. I'm sticking with the Lester model on the heavier sounds and it seems to be ok. Maybe it's because I'm going ethernet into the HD500X?
It's an issue with the piezos. When using palm mute on high gain, you get a hollow "whomp", similar to palm muting on an acoustic. You can hear the full on pick attack.
Hi Richie! How to set up the pod for recording? I hear a different sound between USB recording and line out. The speaker is the same on both outputs (stereo hifi). The USB recording is so dry and muddy. Thank you, you are the only one who can use the pod in youtube.
As promised: line6.com/customtone/profile/RichieCastellano/
One of the best tutorials I have seen! I have a POD HD Desktop and a strat with Emg's and I got 4 nice tones.
Great tutorial - I appreciate the detail on the amp / cab setup

Hmm. I'll see if I can duplicate this next time I play the JTV.
Zed Chuva You're totally right that's why i sold my JTV-89f, the issue was just no acceptable for such an expensive guitar.
