I mean if ur a causal player then this game is a great game bcs u don’t need hands to do well and can look at flashy animation despite only spam left clicking Don’t say I’m saying this bcs I’m in early game, I’m rank 40 and done Shiyu defense up to floor 14 with only 1 level 50 characters which is Ellen and everyone else 40 and all A rank characters since my luck is sh*t and got 2 copies of Rina and she does not fit in my teams(Ellen + Anby + Soukaku, Corin + Piper + Lucy) Endgame is just stat check, still the same enemies with same AI meaning they don’t get more aggressive, they only got tankier and hit harder, but doesn’t matter bcs they are still sluggish, and to get S rank, u simply need to play long enough to farm mats to level up your characters and engines properly + discs that have the correct set and correct main stats
Iyo, your vid totally VALIDATED what I've been doing since I hit CH2. I've been building teams with the order of Stun-Support-DPS, and when there are trial stages, it's always DPS-Stun-Support (so I always switch to Stun as soon as I'm able to move) Then there's the whole switch-cancel/switch-tech/whatever you're calling it. Starting from the time I fought the CH2 final boss and got into CH3 with those floating mobs, I've been using that WAY more often to both avoid damage and reposition, and was just starting to think about using it for combos and energy regen... and then you said this is totally a thing! Granted it's kinda hard knowing what parts of the animation sticks around after you switch. 'cause lol I am not doing my training in training mode. I do it while on an actual quest 😂😂😂
One BIG thing you didn’t mention is core passives. These are something everyone is ignoring but for most characters they are pretty vital. To anyone reading this comment, every character has a straight passive that gives them often extra damage, stun, anomaly build up etc so long as there is another member of the team that shares either the same element or faction. I’d argue this is more important than a lot that was said in the video because, again, it’s often just more damage. This will also be more important as the game goes on as we get more characters and factions. In fairness, you were doing this in the video, but I think if you are building a team, especially a rainbow one, you gotta consider who is on the team and how vital their core passives is.
also good to add some units have specialized core passives. Example: Rina's core passive gives electric damage and shock buffs, but her pen ratio buff is universal, so you can slot her in any team that isn't electric focused just for her pen ratio buff
I agree this is really important. This video was a lot of him talking about specific animations and features of specific characters rather than a team building guide - not talking about core passives in a team building guide is wild.
@@meco7956 That’s true too. Another example is Lucy since her Core passive just buffs the pigs. So if you only want the damage buff, she can go onto other teams. Biggest thing is you get the core passive for your DPS
@@FlyingPancake0390 In fairness, I’ve seen other videos that have ignored it too. It’s something that does require a bit more discussion. This video wasn’t so much a team building as more of a “How to use characters”. Quick Assist is super vital too, but I think it’s more of a secondary thing when it comes to team building specifically
Here’s a weird side effect of your ZZZ videos, now I wanna play fighting games. Just picked up SF6 and starting my long journey of learning! Thanks for being contagiously enthusiastic dude!
3:23 most content creators tend to ignore this but Ben, the only Defense character, is also the only character that has an active 'Guard' in his inputs - specifically holding his skill iirc
Ben is slept on. He has over 1000 attack on my team at level 30; the way his Defense scales his attack is insane. Pair him with a good support and suddenly he's teleporting around the battlefield with quick assist. He's a beast.
@@Drunkendrakon that’s my favorite thing about ZZZ. At least so far, disregarding how good they may or may not be, the A rank are all still uniquely FUN, and so far only a few of them have S rank characters that are basically just better versions of them. And even then, they still have their uses and/or play differently. I know this is partly bc the roster is so small rn but I hope the game stays that way. In fact, this may be a hot take but I kinda prefer the idea of A ranks being more fun to play and S ranks being stronger but easier to play/slightly more boring. But maybe that’s just me.
@@episode4882There are combos, but they're not anything ground breaking. Like a fun one with Lycaon/Billy/Ben is Lycaon: SP, ATK1, Dash ATK, ATK1, Dash ATK (loop until EX) Hold EX Immediately switch to Billy and SP Switch to Ben Dash ATK, switch to Lycaon - Loop as you like. It's nothing crazy or ground breaking, but combos exist, they're just kind of locked to only a few characters that have launchers. Switch tech is also important for them to work, and they're more like loops than combos.
learning what Assault does, playing Piper can actually mitigate the need for a Stun character because of how fast she triggers Assault. You can basically play Piper, Rina/Lucy and Grace with her to maximize Disorder. I also learned from another video that the damage of Disorder can vary depending on the order of the Anomaly build up and which agent triggers it. I still don't quite understand it but from what i was able to comprehend, if the strongest agent triggers the first Anomaly, the damage of the Disorder will scale with that agent So basically, you can dance around with Grace and Rina to accumulate Shock before sending in Piper to spin-to-win and trigger Assault + Disorder. Dealing both massive damage and Daze. If done well enough, it might go straight into a chain attack which is pretty neat. The main problem I had playing Grace is that she's really reliant on someone else to inflict Daze. Plus the fact that her damage is a slowburn as most of it comes from Shocking enemy, so i sometimes get in situation where i pretty much have to play perfect dodges over perfect dodges (i don't have Rina to help accumulating Shock). That said, i'm still very new to her kit and Anomaly build up in general and the Ice team definitely spoiled me af when it comes to dishing up fast damage another note in the topic of Anomaly build up, i read a random tooltip in a loading screen that enemies gain Anomaly RES after every Build Up. So it gets harder and harder to build Anomaly. Prolly why Anomaly Mastery and Proficiency is a stat
Another thing about Grace is anomaly damage scales with level so they actually get double scaling later on from the stats from leveling up and then again for the levels themselves. From what I understand disorder in a nutshell instantly ends the current damage over time for full damage it would have done plus about 40% and then applies the new status. Then you can switch back and disorder the new status and on and on.
The reason why Disorder hits differently is because it does different things depending on what the predecent status effect is. Burn: procs all remaining ticks on Burn at once Shock: procs all remaining ticks + extra damage equivalent to 6 ticks Corruption: same as Burn Freeze: 500% of ATK as damage Assault: 500% of ATK as damage Obviously it's still subject to the damage formula for anomaly attributes, so anomaly proficiency, stunned state, res reduction, penetration, etc will matter.
The thing that made me realize how deep this game could go was when I realized Anby's EX skill executes faster after the 3rd basic. I had more-or-less just been hard casting it up to that point. That one revelation was the jumping off point that brought my ZZZ game to a new level
Anby is essentially the poster girl of this game, she is so subtlely adorable and innocent, also with the headphones she uses, the games music and the 4th wall breaking she does
People are sleeping on Ben. His attack goes up with his defense stat - if you put both attack and defense stat discs on him; he becomes a powerhouse. My Ben has over 1000 attack at level 30. Pair him with a good support and suddenly he's teleporting around the battlefield like a madman. Ben is the goat.
I definitely did, but then I challenged myself to try and see what he can provide. Man, once I did, I started loving him. I'm super grateful that I got to C6 him from this Zhu banner. At first, I was heated, but then I was like "Oh wow, I actually got really lucky XD"
Finally someone that just put into words what I've been thinking forever since starting. I've been playing exactly like tenshin thinking it's a rotation. Then I started only playing piper and now I understand it's a combo game.
The game does explain anomaly, just not automatically/ a pop up. (Maybe there is a pop up for it, but I really don't remember). You have to choose to look at the in-game guide/manual and scroll to near the bottom.
Currently the team I've been enjoying is Anby, Nicole and Anton. Your vids have been very helpful and using the tip of properly utilising the training area has significantly helped me understand my team better. Hopefully my execution will improve and my team will be fire in the rest of the game. Also because I want to actually get good I do the commissions and other combat in challenge mode to keep me on the edge so I get better.
People gonna be needing to remember those chain attack orders when they get to Shiyu Defense and what these passive buffs are for characters because they're gonna be so much more important. This is why a video like this introducing people to team building concepts is going to be crucial going forward as the game continues to ramp up in difficulty like the devs said it would.
I’m not sure if you’ve noticed, you probably have but when doing the ex specials after stunning, if you go from your point character to your dps first instead of the support you can get two ex specials into the assist. For instance my point is grace and I’ll swap into my corin, then swap to rina then I can assist back to corin so I can ult into her skill for MASSIVE burst damage on stun.
Here's a request for you: Can you go over the differences betweeen the different (counter, evasive, etc.) assists and how to trigger them. I just discovered evasive assists yesterday and had no idea that Vital time(?) was a thing.
Very grateful for the team building guide, was kinda stumped just by On-field/Point character SHOULDN'T be the crit/traditional dps, instead of the Stunner (or Anomaly in both) just cuz stagger/daze > damage is just that important. Can't wait for the next vid if we ever get deeper in the whole Anomaly strats, probably when we either get more characters: Need a full Quantum team) or more interest in the enemy patterns (is it better to just dodge instead of try for a DP, like with the dead end butcher that eats all the parry until your screen goes gray
Stunner only matters in late game, in early game, a good on field dps should stay on field despite daze meter is still active Ellen performs better on her own in early than when she has teammates
You’re my favorite ZZZ TH-camr bro. I’ve always wanted to learn action and fighting games enough to be able to comfortably and knowledgeably do the crazy DMC and KH3 combos I’ve seen, and to just better understand the deeper fundamentals of understanding fighting games: how combos work, fully utilizing a character’s kit, how to use assists effectively, etc (I grew up Smash blood and SF6 is the first fighting game I’ve ever tried to learn seriously). And I’ve never understood how to get into labbing; even in Smash it’s just always seemed daunting to me and I’ve never known what to do or how to start. How on earth people find the crazy tech they do has always been beyond me All that to say, ZZZ seems like the absolute perfect game for me in terms of learning the basics of those aspects of action and fighting games. And your videos have been doing a phenomenal job of tying both of those genres together through ZZZ, which is the exact perspective I’ve been looking for. You’re even helping me understand the mindset of a labber, which is what I’ve been too scared to attempt seeking out for so long. But ZZZ seems like a perfect game to learn with: simple enough to get the hang of but complex enough to enjoy learning as you get more into it. Perfect timing with MVC2 on the horizon too, which is another team-based game that I’m STOKED to pick up and learn for the first time 😖. You the best, man. Your perspective is exactly what I need for this game and I do hope you keep making videos looking at the game this way. Really excited for the future of this game, and hopefully I’ll be able to figure out some of my own stuff and even transfer those fundamentals to SF6, MVC2, and whatever action game I play next.
So Defense characters are more like pseudo-Stun characters actually. They efficiently build Daze and can be used as a replacement to a Stun character. They will come with additional utility as well. Think of Defense characters as defensive Dazers and Stun characters as offensive Dazers. A Stun character is going to have higher theoretical output, more efficient rotations damage-wise, and can be almost as devastating in attacks as an Attacker (Lycaon, Koleda, Anby). Defense characters are methodical and situational, but under the right circumstances will offer buffs to your team or themselves to be very good at staying on-field (Ben's enhanced parry and shield building). You could probably get away with a Defense-Anomaly-Anomaly composition, however in your standard Attacker-Stun-Support, you'd be sacrificing quite a lot of damage the Support synergy would provide the Attacker. It would be better to do Attacker-Defense-Support and note that your rotations will be slower as Defense characters Daze well, but not as fast as Stun characters.
4:41 it can be either, that point. If DPS is point, then support is back so that the DPS is still the first on the left to them for quick assist. For example, we will use cunning hares, nekomata, anby, Nicole, or anby Nicole nekomata, are both correct (stuns and stun characters both fit the role of meter builders, really well)
I already did this stuff instictively as a fighting game player, as someone who grew up playing super smash bros melee, mastering fox and his shine spike drill kick and other teching, SS4, MVC2, etc im 33 now. Iyo your spilling our secrets man, but its okay I want others to really play a game for once. If they make a vs mode in this game, its a wrap, thats all i will play.
@@knightmare938 Yeah literally just a vs mode no progression, except maybe signature skin effects or something to show off. Also needs two modes, one where its flat gear and people can choose stats and one where peopl can use their own
One thing I want to ask is the difference between Disorder triggered by a DoT Anomaly and a Disorder triggered by Freeze or Assault, specifically Assault because one video I found said that the Assault -> Disorder damage is calculated by Assault’s Flinch effect which does not make sense to me because Flinch doesn’t do any damage, it’s just a debuff. If the Assault Disorder damage is scaled off of the Anomaly Proficiency of the character who initially applied Assault, then this could mean that Assault could potentially be better than a DoT Disorder since DoT Disorder simply frontloads all of the DoT that would have been applied and applies it into a single damage instance. You’re still getting the same amount of damage either way. Whereas Assault Disorder would be extra damage on top of the already existing Assault damage. I have no idea how Freeze Disorder works (or if Freeze could even cause Disorder, I don’t have enough Ice characters to test this myself) so this is something I’d like clarification on
There is tons of little difference you notice when diving into character's kits. Example, Soukaku quick assist triggers off Fly the Flag, which does NOT require the EX special, making her the only character that does not require energy for QA. Side note, you never covered Disorder in this video, though it seemed like you were. Makes anomalies even more complicated since it performs differently based on which anomaly they had applied first.
One thing that would be nice if hoyo takes anything from wuwa, is how wuwa distincts their rolls and encompasses all they can do, so when certain terms are used in skill explanations or for your stats on echos (artifcats) you know exactly what its for and what to build even if you dont read the wall of text
I'm loving my team, Anby-Rina-Corin. Anby is so fast in triggering daze, switch then Rina builds up anomaly, then Corin comes in with a quick assist. Corin provides very good damage on stunned enemies. She also has these anti-interrupt moves against mobs. Repeat until Shock+Assault=>Disorder.
For energy also they have a sound fx that play when some of them regain a stack (it's really subtle) but for some reason they don't have a sound that plays or any dust fx under characters feet to tell you when one of your characters can be swapped to again after a switch tec. Also I think defense characters give shield, and I havent tested this yet, but i think the shield also works as a flinch resist (so for example Koleda is really prone to flinch on her basic atk, but Hoyo hinting ben to be in the team for buffs was sort of low key saying his shield helps Koleda finish her animations without being flinched also same with Anton so he doesnt get knocked out of his lmb charge)
Ohh yeah, i also wanted to say this, without the weapon or first copy. It is actually best to stay in front of the enemy. To be able to Dodge counter and proc the buff.
How does fighting game correlate to ZZZ, ZZZ is literally just arpg stat check game There’s barely any combo in existence that require players to practice to pull off, if ur referring to dodge+parry simultaneously, just click shift->left click->space in order really fast upon seeing light indicator, it’s not that deep
@@episode4882it doesn't but Iyo keeps repeating that because the game has a couple of combos (every action game has them) and because of the street fighter collab stream. The devs said they took inspiration from SF6 but tbh the inspiration is barely there
@@episode4882 Yeah I'm in the same boat never really played fighting games on my own but a lot of the information given from a FGC standpoint just seems very unnecessary I'm nearly account lvl 40 and I've had 0 issues with progression without having to learn to juggle enemies like I'm playing MVC3. But I'm also quick with learning games so when it comes to animation canceling and things like that I picked up very early starting ZZZ. No shade I still enjoy these videos but I feel you don't really need to do a lot of the technical stuff.
@@Ahegao_Circus hey you do you, some people like "styling" to make their clears look better. And ZZZ being a gacha game, it needs most people to be able to clear normal/endgame content without stressing inputs so if yr on that boat thats good :) I wanna know how to make my characters look cool doing it
@@ababilashari9970 I mean I'm able to "style" and make my characters look "cool" The point of my comment is that a lot of this stuff I learned on my own just playing the game. People are making the game seem pretty technical like it's MVC3 or Tekken but it's not THAT deep. I'm a DMC fan so I get wanting to look cool doing combos and doing no hit runs. I just feel you can have style and feel cool without all the FGC info because sometimes that can scare off new players if they aren't use to fighting games or combat heavy games. People who want to play hardcore go for it (I get it) but I also want the other side of the coin to know they'll still enjoy the game if they're new and look "cool" playing. That's it ofc everyone is free to play as they see fit spend money or play for free the game is fun and if you're having fun that's all that matters to me at the end of the day.
ben bigger best spot is the 1 spot as stunner. open with his slow basic which tracks enemy and sap to dps in middle. support in 3. fyi support should go after dps so they dont proc sap back to stun
I said to myself not long ago when I was doing my shifts that there was something wrong. I hope that automatic rotation will be possible from now on, like it was during the CBT, so that you can do the rotations yourself.
one thing i realize stun char is a powerful core member especially when fighting elite or boss becoz u need those high daze multiplier to quickly stun the enemy and trigger chain atk and opening the atk window for ur team. daze multiplier is not bind to stun char only so pay attention to skill stats with high daze multiplication on other char too to maximize ur attack window oppurtunity. i use grace, anby, anton along with lightning anomaly bangboo and i just crush through hard challenge even without recommended attribute.
:3 i got 7 AntonIOS as a f2p + RINA AND GRACE XD trust me guys he is broken in SOLO BOSSES (it can work too with a support like Nicole, grouping enemies, but its as much good as a full electro team)
@@IyoXS Yeah I got really lucky when it comes to her, the night after I posted this I got Lycaon, his Wengine, and Grace all within 10 pulls, I'm never doing gacha without my girlfriend with me ever again lmao. She's good luck apparently
Yeah I was watching iyo's videos because he was basically the only zzz content creator that showed up in my feed that wasn't shit talking the game, but as I watched these videos, they're kinda bad. Like, this is a 30 minute video titles "mastering team building" and he talked about team building for like 1 second and then spend the other 25 minutes talking about how he plays fighting games. Like cool man, but why don't you talk about a fighting game? This guy just rambled for 30 minutes, titled it a guide, and then posted.
It is true that one dps, one Stun, and one support is a good setup. It isn't the only way to play. Stunning does help a lot. You get a damage increase, swap parry bar, and the foe stops attacking. This is strong, but I have seen people doing just fine with 2 dps + support, support-anomoly-dps, even 2 anomaly support. Heck I bet we will see people running defence more often in the teams as time goes on and we have more to rep the role than Ben Bigger.
The order of team is support > DPS > stun. It's so assist triggered by support skill send you to DPS and when you need to parry, you go to stunner. Physical anomaly(Piper) can replace DPS, defense(Ben) can replace stun, support is a flex slot. Double anomaly (disorder) doesn't need stunner.
Was extremely lucky to get Ellen on a single and weapon . I don’t have lycoan but I use Nicole, Soukaku and Ellen. Chaining Nicole’s Ex with soukako into Ellen is soo much fun !! Especially when u can group enemies together and use Ellen’s special!!
i really appreciate your work on your content bro, do you think in my team (necomata, grace, anby) necomata should have a classic crit build or should i build her in anomaly to play with disorders?
I’ve been playing anby grace and Anton on a team atm since I’m lucky to get Anton to C6 and grace I got her weapon and my god this team is nuts and I haven’t even built them properly yet
Trying to decide between Nicole and Piper as the last piece of my second team with Neko/Anby/Amilion. If anyone sees this and wants to chime in, I'd appreciate your thoughts. Lots of game knowledge in these comments.
I only have experience with Nicole but I believe Iyo said the combo of Anby and Piper is good for juggling the enemies. So if you are into that then that sounds like a good idea. Obviously Nicole is good too. Being a support character allows for the quick assist trigger that is described in her X special attack. So if you did this I would place them in the order of Anby, Nicole and Nekomana. This way when Nicole triggers quick assist it will be your dps Nekomana that attacks. My current team uses Anby, Nicole and Anton. I've been enjoying this team so far.
What confuses me the most is QTE chain attacks. On my Ellen/Anby/Soukaku team sometimes a chain will end with bangboo into Anby, and sometimes it will end with bangboo into Ellen. And to add to all that sometimes bangboo won't even trigger at all and it totally skips it. So what determines what QTE chain order? For example if main dps triggers it whats the order, if stunner triggers it? support?
My biggest question is, since there is Atk, Def, Anomaly, Support, and Stun, should you always have a Stun and Support in your team? And then have the last slot be ether Atk/Anomaly? OR Could you do something like, Atk Anomaly Stun, or Atk Anomaly Support, ETC ETC-
It really depends. Since Assault increases daze damage, you can get away without running a stun character. At least, that's what a chinese theorycrafter has been saying. That chinese guy is going hard on lucy-piper and an on-field DPS such as S11
Is there any advantage to juggling in Shiyu Defense? I'm not that far into it yet but I'm imagining a lot of the enemies later on can't be juggled. Unless they start off with smaller enemies that have a lot of HP, I feel like it's useless. Maybe if the devs never add a vacuum character and you just have to "push" enemies together for a juggle then yeah maybe. Otherwise, unless that juggle does a lot of damage, you'd probably be better off using your highest damage rotation if you can group them up. As soon as they're dazed (and it's extremely quick), they're as good as dead...
Also it seems like smaller characters are faster than big characters which is cool - same as fighting games. Ben can't even sprint lmao. I hope they put more big/heavy characters in the game.
You hold down the special attack button and spin Nicole around in a circle and you release the button before she sits down. I know that at least for M&K you can also use your normal attack button (left mouse click for me) instead of special button. For controller it is easier as you just spin the stick but for M&K you need to hit W-A-S-D-W-A to spin. By the way this only works if Nicole has enough energy for the X special, at least that's the case for me.
I’m mostly surprised how much gaming terms got lost during the decades maybe I’m just a boomer gamer now zzz fit so easy after only playing honkers 3 a bit a few years back
Lyo is ZZZ Hall of Fame content creator! Videos so interesting I’ll be playing myself and watching his vids simultaneously! Even if i know things already
Videos so interesting titles "mastering team building in zenless zone zero: a comprehensive guide" that has a 30 minute run time and then only talked about team building for 2 seconds and didn't even mention the most basic building block of teams, the core passives. Would have been better to title this video "yet another video where I rehash that the game has depth using the same examples as all the others, and not a guide"
Nekomata does increased dmg from behind only if she is M1 or with her signature w-engine (weapon); otherwise the positioning doesn't matter. EDIT: Also, i see 99% of players parry/dodge only with next unit; you can also parry with your previous unit. Useful on teams that have 2 defensive dodge units like Grace, Rina etc. (units that don't parry) and a melee unit that can parry. For example on a team with Anton, Grace, Rina you can actually parry every time with Anton to build his energy way faster by switching back from Grace; i would almost always prioritize parries first and when u run out of them do dodges. Don't sleep on parries!
Bruh, this video is atrociously misleading and uninformative. Teams consist primarily of a Stunner, Support, and Attacker (in that order). Other roles can be swapped in where they fit best, but you should always pay attention to each character's Faction and Attribute. Characters that are paired with at least one member from a matching Faction or Attribute gain enhancements to their core passive. So, when building a team, you want to make sure each member is receiving these benefits. You don't have to do this, but your character(s) will underperform. Juggling has no benefit. If you care for style, you do you, but saying that juggled enemies are helpless is massively misleading. Enemies that can be juggled will flinch on being hit by any attack, and once you start flinching them, they are helpless until you stop. Juggling has nothing to do with it, and enemies that can be flinched/juggled are essentially trash-mobs that will die quickly anyway. Nekomata gains no benefit from back-attacks. Nekomata's signature weapon and her C1 do, but base Nekomata doesn't. Stop leaving out that extremely important bit of information. (This also has nothing to do with team building.) To expressly state it (because it's not stated in the video): you regen more energy when actively attacking with a character. If you want to build meter for a specific character, use them. Simple. (Again, nothing to do with team building.) Also not expressly stated in the video: when you perfect dodge, your cooldown for dodging doesn't apply, allowing you to continue dodging through enemy attacks as long as you keep timing it properly. If you dodge recklessly, you will be caught and punished by enemy combos, so learn attack timings. (What even is team building?) And while coverage of all the statuses is nice, you expressly state you're covering Disorder and then completely ignore it. To put it simply: Disorder equates to dealing more burst damage (the calculation for it is complicated). A team made up of two characters that can quickly apply a status (like Anomaly characters) can make good use of this. However, just know there is no character that buffs or directly effect Disorder as a specific playstyle. It's just a benefit you can receive for varying your team's damage types.
i feel like this video was misguided, it was supposed to be about "teambuilding" but he mostly talked about combos. he briefly discussed the roles of different characters but didn't actually explain how that was important. i don't think he even mentioned synergy bonus, which is vitally important to some characters. not only is juggling not useful, but it's completely redundant because if you want enemies to be "completely helpless", just stun them. stunning enemies doesn't just make them helpless but it also massively increases the damage that enemies take. he didn't really explain why adding a stunner to your team is so important, he kinda just glossed over it like he assumed the viewer knows already. for that matter he didn't even explain why having a support character is important, or how to choose a support character, which would probably be really helpful to the playerbase right now. (a LOT of people are using lucy on their fire team when soukaku would actually be better unless your lucy has a high mindscape level, because soukaku can activate her damage buff more easily and with a higher uptime.) he mentions anomaly characters and spends so much time discussing what anomalies do, but for what? how do we build a team based around anomalies? he never goes into this but it would be such an easy section to make. either 2 anomalies of different elements + a stun or support, OR dps and stunner/support of the same element + anomaly of a different element. i feel like iyo is trying to understand this game from the standpoint of a traditional fighting game player, but this game is nothing like a traditional fighting game so he's completely misunderstood how to guide people. (it's really more like hi3, pgr, or wuwa, but you can tell he's obviously never played any of them.) he goes into this section at the end where he says he doesn't think that there are any specific combos or rotations that are always the best, but the fact of the matter is, there ARE, because there are certain combos or rotations that will maximize DPS/daze/anomaly depending on the character. using anby as an example, i can guarantee you that-- basic 1 - basic 2 - basic 3 - skill - basic 4 (activates thunderbolt) is far better at accumulating daze than basic 1 - basic 2 - switch to DPS and use basic 1 - switch to anby and use basic 1 - basic 2 - skill because the first combo actually utilizes her quick skill after the 3rd basic attack, and doesn't waste time resetting anby's combo, and uses her abilities that have the highest daze multiplier, those being her skill and her thunderbolt. telling people they can use whatever combo they want and perform well is just misinformation. and then what do combos even have to do with teambuilding in the first place??
@@azylanHonestly yeah. Like I understand where he's coming from to an extent. There's more character depth in ZZZ mechanically than almost any other gacha game and it does have some character action elements to it. There's some merit to building characters into specializations that aren't "optimal" for their role via the disc system, but it's very MMO rotation based in later content and requires specific builds. Btw juggling enemies is dope, and difficult... so it's not pointless - it's pointless towards in game progression, but it's not pointless if you enjoy it, and it does take some thought, and execution to make them happen so shouldn't be handwaved just because it doesn't result in S ranks and chrome. The game has depth beyond what gacha typically does - but it's walled off by dps checks which turns it into typical number crunching grinding nonsense.
Definitely agreeing on this one. No hating but just a constructive criticism. He also explained about cancelling Grace's 4th BA cos your zap is already maxed out but doing it so will hit more enemies that will result to more energy for EX skills and decibels for your ult. I think he is trying so hard to relate any combo on a fighting game on this game. This game doesn't even have crouch nor jump.
Jeez the yapping. So disorganized. Did you even have bullet points going into this vid? TL;DW: - Team setup: Stun-Support-DPS (1-2-3) - On-field characters can give some energy to off-field - You can switch on longer animations - Specific character kits are important to play them right - Anomalies have interesting effects Literally ONE of those points is about teambuilding. Nowhere did you talk purposefully about core passives and additional passives, which ones are important and which ones you can probably ignore, the comparative value of stun vs disorder vs support (as you usually can't have all three, with I think one exception), what characters can give quick assist on-demand vs which need more energy/fieldtime to do so, a list of notable synergies on offer at the moment.... Possibly the furthest thing from a "comprehensive guide to mastering teambuilding" that I could think of. Oof.
if ur a causal player then this game is a great game bcs u don’t even need a pair of functional hands to do well and can look at flashy animation despite only spamming left click Don’t say I’m saying this bcs I’m in early game, I’m rank 40 and done Shiyu defense up to floor 14 with only 1 level 50 characters which is Ellen and everyone else 40 and are all A rank characters since my luck is sh*t and got 2 copies of Rina and she does not fit in my teams(Ellen + Anby + Soukaku, Corin + Piper + Lucy) Endgame is just stat check, still the same enemies with same AI meaning they don’t get more aggressive, they only got tankier and hit harder, but doesn’t matter bcs they are still sluggish, and to get S rank, u simply need to play long enough to farm mats to level up your characters and engines properly + discs that have the correct set and correct main stats Team building won’t even matter that much in just a few patch where characters have massive powercreep to a point they can basically solo the content at C0R1
We get idea, but not, Miho challange, how it go on em... BestBuy-7dollar keyboard and mouse, or like 11 iPhone, you a speaking about pro-gamer stuff, basic fings not working, if not only mashing and pray. %)
its when you do two inputs consecutively. This is how people do DP assists, which is when you do a dodge counter with your active character, then do a perfect parry with your next character at roughly the same time.
I cant believe people hate on this game im having such a fun time. Only L to me is not enough stam for me to try all my chars

@@episode4882 fr ? Isn't every rpg game like this
Iyo, your vid totally VALIDATED what I've been doing since I hit CH2. I've been building teams with the order of Stun-Support-DPS, and when there are trial stages, it's always DPS-Stun-Support (so I always switch to Stun as soon as I'm able to move)
Then there's the whole switch-cancel/switch-tech/whatever you're calling it.
Are people really ignoring that...? I feel like you're making that up because if this was true then my hopes for humanity are lost.
Here’s a weird side effect of your ZZZ videos, now I wanna play fighting games. Just picked up SF6 and starting my long journey of learning! Thanks for being contagiously enthusiastic dude!
Heck yeah, have fun! SF6 is a great game to start out with too!
Yeah, and counter attack after being hit in his guard stance is great.
I breezed the game on my Ellen team until Shiyu defense forced me to build team 2. It's more fun playing with the 4 star units.
I don't think you want to hold it any time though, when a tap will parry and nuke the enemy.
Your breakdown of combos truly helped me so much.
A controller pop up on your video showing the button pushed would be cool as well
Ain’t no way u think combos exist in ZZZ unless you consider left click x 3 + 1 E is combo lol
@@episode4882 so what's a combo?
@@episode4882 Literally negative value added. Useless person detected.
@@episode4882There are combos, but they're not anything ground breaking.
Like a fun one with Lycaon/Billy/Ben is
Lycaon: SP, ATK1, Dash ATK, ATK1, Dash ATK (loop until EX) Hold EX
Immediately switch to Billy and SP
Switch to Ben
Dash ATK, switch to Lycaon -
Loop as you like.
I still don't quite understand it but from what i was able to comprehend, if the strongest agent triggers the first Anomaly, the damage of the Disorder will scale with that agent
So basically, you can dance around with Grace and Rina to accumulate Shock before sending in Piper to spin-to-win and trigger Assault + Disorder. That said, i'm still very new to her kit and Anomaly build up in general and the Ice team definitely spoiled me af when it comes to dishing up fast damage
another note in the topic of Anomaly build up, i read a random tooltip in a loading screen that enemies gain Anomaly RES after every Build Up.
Burn: procs all remaining ticks on Burn at once
Shock: procs all remaining ticks + extra damage equivalent to 6 ticks
Corruption: same as Burn
Freeze: 500% of ATK as damage
Assault: 500% of ATK as damage
Obviously it's still subject to the damage formula for anomaly attributes, so anomaly proficiency, stunned state, res reduction, penetration, etc will matter.
Can I play grace anby and piper is that a good disorder team lol Idk much about these stuffs can someone tell me
@@LunaXStarZzz-ny8gc Sounds fine to me.
The thing that made me realize how deep this game could go was when I realized Anby's EX skill executes faster after the 3rd basic. I had more-or-less just been hard casting it up to that point. That one revelation was the jumping off point that brought my ZZZ game to a new level
IMO, the faster part isn't much. The extra dazed multiplier after 3rd hit is a lot.
1:56 been running the cunning hares myself. Anby,Nicole and billy in that order and it’s been fun plus story wise they are the goats 🤣🤝🏾
Ben is the goat.
yep, just like they underestimated piper, been does big damage to stun and health bar
5 minutes in and I'm glad to hear that my teambuilding strat of Stun/Support/DPS is actually as optimal as i figured it was meant to be
Currently the team I've been enjoying is Anby, Nicole and Anton.
The video you and Hex did helped me a lot! I’m kinda dumb, so it was much appreciated!
uninformed ≠ dumb
we're always learning, so don't worry man
People gonna be needing to remember those chain attack orders when they get to Shiyu Defense and what these passive buffs are for characters because they're gonna be so much more important.
I'll write this down!
Hell yeah
Digimon fan recognize digimon fan. Respect. That's why I love this game so much, the similarities to series like Digimon, Code Lyoko, and Megaman.
Stunner only matters in late game, in early game, a good on field dps should stay on field despite daze meter is still active
Ellen performs better on her own in early than when she has teammates
How on earth people find the crazy tech they do has always been beyond me
All that to say, ZZZ seems like the absolute perfect game for me in terms of learning the basics of those aspects of action and fighting games.
Nice info bro. That's how i set my team from day one, stunner, support and attacker!
For example, we will use cunning hares, nekomata, anby, Nicole, or anby Nicole nekomata, are both correct (stuns and stun characters both fit the role of meter builders, really well)
Here before Rehoo
That's wild, but I forks with it. LOL
This is the way. haha I'm glad more of the FG homies are finding this game fun too!
Vs mode would be cool, as long as it doesn't become mandatory for Character progression.
I have no idea how Freeze Disorder works (or if Freeze could even cause Disorder, I don’t have enough Ice characters to test this myself) so this is something I’d like clarification on
From what I read from other comment, it seems freeze and assault has similar disorder. Shock dot also has extra 6 ticks.
Damn you got all the characters I want. I really want Grace. she's got fire combo potential
💯
I also want Rina as well
This is the content I was looking for from you! Thank you!
Grace, Rina, and Anby are my go to right now. Grace is fine af, and I love the anomaly play style 🫡
Incredible work lyo thanks for giving that knowledge to the community man
For energy also they have a sound fx that play when some of them regain a stack (it's really subtle) but for some reason they don't have a sound that plays or any dust fx under characters feet to tell you when one of your characters can be swapped to again after a switch tec.
Just wanna say something for Nekomata, it is only important to attack from behind if you have her sig weapon or another copy.
Ohh yeah, i also wanted to say this, without the weapon or first copy. It is actually best to stay in front of the enemy. To be able to Dodge counter and proc the buff.
Is it even worth using her if you don't have either of those? Finding her a little underwhelming compared to other DPS I've trialed
I can understand about the tv system. At 1st i hate it, but overtime it grew on me. And i cant stop playing this now
I trust iyo when he makes these kinds of videos cause he is a fighting game player. i dont think many people know that.
How does fighting game correlate to ZZZ, ZZZ is literally just arpg stat check game
There’s barely any combo in existence that require players to practice to pull off, if ur referring to dodge+parry simultaneously, just click shift->left click->space in order really fast upon seeing light indicator, it’s not that deep
And ZZZ being a gacha game, it needs most people to be able to clear normal/endgame content without stressing inputs so if yr on that boat thats good :)
I wanna know how to make my characters look cool doing it
@@ababilashari9970 I mean I'm able to "style" and make my characters look "cool" The point of my comment is that a lot of this stuff I learned on my own just playing the game.
Very nice, ngl I wasn’t thinking that much about team placement before, now I’ll def keep that in mind all the time.
Very informative, ty
Rotation ≠ Combos
Clever💪💯
Another thing they don’t tell you about Nicole is that you can reload all of your bullets just by holding her basic attack
one thing i realize stun char is a powerful core member especially when fighting elite or boss becoz u need those high daze multiplier to quickly stun the enemy and trigger chain atk and opening the atk window for ur team. daze multiplier is not bind to stun char only so pay attention to skill stats with high daze multiplication on other char too to maximize ur attack window oppurtunity. i use grace, anby, anton along with lightning anomaly bangboo and i just crush through hard challenge even without recommended attribute.
Keep up the content man!
:3 i got 7 AntonIOS as a f2p + RINA AND GRACE XD trust me guys he is broken in SOLO BOSSES (it can work too with a support like Nicole, grouping enemies, but its as much good as a full electro team)
How about chain attacks? Sometimes I can do 2 chain attacks and sometime only 1. How can I know how much chain attack I can do to a stunned enemy?
Bro, TH-cam algoritm loves you!
thx for educating the community, you helped me see the depth in this game.

This vid was a horrible example of teaching lmao wut. No organization, no overarching goal or point to the "lesson", no circling back to reinforce....
All I know is you need one DPS one stunner and one support is that true. If so that's all I need to know.
Double anomaly (disorder) doesn't need stunner.
we learn something new everyday, thanks man, still hoping for that "getting ready for zhu yuan"
stay awesome bro 🎉
I am really happy that your content is popping off 😎 with ZZZ, tho I was really confused as to why this was on the new channel 😅
Since you mentioned digimon... the tv sections remind me of world 2 in a big way - i wouldnt mind a w2 roguelike remake in this kind of format.
Love this! But as someone who also plays SF6 i'd love to see some advanced combo vids from you. Great vid keep it up!
i really appreciate your work on your content bro, do you think in my team (necomata, grace, anby) necomata should have a classic crit build or should i build her in anomaly to play with disorders?
Subbed for the follow up videos and info you'll give us. Great stuff. 👍
I’ve been playing anby grace and Anton on a team atm since I’m lucky to get Anton to C6 and grace I got her weapon and my god this team is nuts and I haven’t even built them properly yet

@@IyoXS goddamn iyo replying to my comment, looking forward to seeing more of them vids brother!
I've been enjoying this team so far.
i love that kirby
How you do that lil saucey spin with Nicole's skill on PS cuz I can't figure it out for the life of me.
My teams in the thumbnail i tie this as I am the best in zzz 😤
"Tie this" is now a typo phrase I'll live with
I hope I get lucky and get the Creepy Maid too.
I need tldr team buildings cuz 30 mins is a bit much... Just trying to be fair here. Maybe shorts?
Your attention span is cooked
I would love to see the video with you teaching hex about the zzz combat
She posted it up on her channel today! It was a fun time! :D
For example if main dps triggers it whats the order, if stunner triggers it? support?
each character can attack once per chain. each proc of a stun or daze allows one more attack per chain. super bosses get extra chain
My biggest question is, since there is Atk, Def, Anomaly, Support, and Stun, should you always have a Stun and Support in your team? And then have the last slot be ether Atk/Anomaly? OR Could you do something like, Atk Anomaly Stun, or Atk Anomaly Support, ETC ETC-
I look up what characters work well together free to play and paid to win. You can make a team based on that.
It really depends. Since Assault increases daze damage, you can get away without running a stun character. At least, that's what a chinese theorycrafter has been saying. That chinese guy is going hard on lucy-piper and an on-field DPS such as S11
Thank you my good sir
29:09 I didn't notice this until almost the end of the video, but who is that in the background?
IIRC, thats Moonnverse.
I hope they put more big/heavy characters in the game.
how do u launch nicole's orb into the air? plz help
I’m mostly surprised how much gaming terms got lost during the decades maybe I’m just a boomer gamer now zzz fit so easy after only playing honkers 3 a bit a few years back
Nice video man
Heres a comment for the algorithm^^
We need character guides im struggling hardddd rnn
Don't sleep on parries!
actually everyone does a little bit of increased damage from behind, neko just has gear and skills that capitalize on it
Bruh, this video is atrociously misleading and uninformative.
(This also has nothing to do with team building.)
To expressly state it (because it's not stated in the video): you regen more energy when actively attacking with a character. If you want to build meter for a specific character, use them. Simple. (Again, nothing to do with team building.)
Also not expressly stated in the video: when you perfect dodge, your cooldown for dodging doesn't apply, allowing you to continue dodging through enemy attacks as long as you keep timing it properly. If you dodge recklessly, you will be caught and punished by enemy combos, so learn attack timings. (What even is team building?)
And while coverage of all the statuses is nice, you expressly state you're covering Disorder and then completely ignore it.
(a LOT of people are using lucy on their fire team when soukaku would actually be better unless your lucy has a high mindscape level, because soukaku can activate her damage buff more easily and with a higher uptime.)
he mentions anomaly characters and spends so much time discussing what anomalies do, but for what? how do we build a team based around anomalies? he never goes into this but it would be such an easy section to make. either 2 anomalies of different elements + a stun or support, OR dps and stunner/support of the same element + anomaly of a different element.
i feel like iyo is trying to understand this game from the standpoint of a traditional fighting game player, but this game is nothing like a traditional fighting game so he's completely misunderstood how to guide people. (it's really more like hi3, pgr, or wuwa, but you can tell he's obviously never played any of them.) he goes into this section at the end where he says he doesn't think that there are any specific combos or rotations that are always the best, but the fact of the matter is, there ARE, because there are certain combos or rotations that will maximize DPS/daze/anomaly depending on the character. using anby as an example, i can guarantee you that--
basic 1 - basic 2 - basic 3 - skill - basic 4 (activates thunderbolt)
is far better at accumulating daze than
basic 1 - basic 2 - switch to DPS and use basic 1 - switch to anby and use basic 1 - basic 2 - skill
because the first combo actually utilizes her quick skill after the 3rd basic attack, and doesn't waste time resetting anby's combo, and uses her abilities that have the highest daze multiplier, those being her skill and her thunderbolt. telling people they can use whatever combo they want and perform well is just misinformation.
and then what do combos even have to do with teambuilding in the first place??
30 minutes to say: I play fighting games so I know how to read character skills LOL
Saved me 30 min... Ty lol
TL;DW:
- Team setup: Stun-Support-DPS (1-2-3)
- On-field characters can give some energy to off-field
- You can switch on longer animations
- Specific character kits are important to play them right
- Anomalies have interesting effects
Literally ONE of those points is about teambuilding.
Oof.
I'm definitely wanting Grace 😔
if ur a causal player then this game is a great game bcs u don’t even need a pair of functional hands to do well and can look at flashy animation despite only spamming left click
Don’t say I’m saying this bcs I’m in early game, I’m rank 40 and done Shiyu defense up to floor 14 with only 1 level 50 characters which is Ellen and everyone else 40 and are all A rank characters since my luck is sh*t and got 2 copies of Rina and she does not fit in my teams(Ellen + Anby + Soukaku, Corin + Piper + Lucy)
Endgame is just stat check, still the same enemies with same AI meaning they don’t get more aggressive, they only got tankier and hit harder, but doesn’t matter bcs they are still sluggish, and to get S rank, u simply need to play long enough to farm mats to level up your characters and engines properly + discs that have the correct set and correct main stats
Team building won’t even matter that much in just a few patch where characters have massive powercreep to a point they can basically solo the content at C0R1
Good things this game is actually have many good aspects and not made just for combat lunatic.
We get it brother you are HARDCORE
bro listen. listen. all these cute swap techs only work w scrubby mobs. try some of this hidden tech against construction mechs. yup, not happening
how do you switch to the third character immediately? i thought you had to cycle between them one at a time
never mind i just found the bind for it
A break down that doesn't involve spread sheets? He's broken the meta.
Bro just said called us noobs thats criminal 😭
what is the best team for nekomata?
Anby and nicole
Or
Lucy and piper
Yeah, I’ve been thrown off by the other stats that they’ve thrown in
People that say this game has no depth, yeah they’re stoopid
Another great video Iyo! Thank you for your hard work!
Holy crap I'm early.
We get idea, but not, Miho challange, how it go on em... BestBuy-7dollar keyboard and mouse, or like 11 iPhone, you a speaking about pro-gamer stuff, basic fings not working, if not only mashing and pray. %)
I’m crazy early
ngl i just been basic/skill/basic/skill spamming on grace
I still don't understand what Disorder does
Iyo we gotta make out at this point, your content is too good
Could someone link me this “plinking” mechanic. I cant find it by searching it on yt
its when you do two inputs consecutively. This is how people do DP assists, which is when you do a dodge counter with your active character, then do a perfect parry with your next character at roughly the same time.
Let's goooo
