If I could only say how much this video means to me. This year in may I was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. It had gone to my spine, sternum, lymph nodes, and to other areas. In October, I went into remission. A few short weeks after, we found out it has spread to my brain, with 18 new lesions. They did surgery to remove one that was swollen & hemorrhaging. But as God is my protector and father, I am here!! So thank you from my heart Momma Mel, for allowing me to feel His love & peace through you. ❤
Oh friend, thank YOU so much for sharing your story with me 🙏 What a brave fighter you are! I and everyone here in this community that reads your comment will be praying for you. And God certainly DOES love you and He will walk right by your side and may His peace fill you ❤️
Great to hear someone saying that Jesus is the reason for the season. For unto you is born this day in the city of David (Bethlahem) a Saviour who is Christ the Lord., blessings everyone 🙏
Thank you Melinda so much for watching. I remember when my kids were young how overwhelmed I felt with trying to make everything picture perfect, and that's not even what it's about right 😉 Over the years I've decided for the most part, at my house I'm gonna keep it simple and enjoy the time with my people with as little added stress as possible 😊 I hope that you have a very merry Christmas and I appreciate you always showing up for my videos 🥰
The chocolate covered marshmallows would be great additions to a cup of hot Chocolate!! The chocolate would make it richer in flavor as would the mallow, but the mallow would also give the hot chocolate more depth in flavor too!!!
Yes, these are great ideas for the marshmallows! I will have to try these out, thanks for sharing and watching. I hope that you had a very blessed Christmas.
Mel, you are such a blessing. I loved the end of this video where you reminded us all to not try to be perfect. Its hard to remember that sometimes. I should let my kids help more. Thank you. Merry Christmas!
I cried watching this. My grandma passed & you made me feel so much love just with your voice. She was my best friend & my 2nd mum. I have so many memories of her but the ones that hit me hardest are Christmas because she loved it so much, Easter, her birthday & Mother’s Day. Time does help but not a single day goes by without me thinking about her. This Christmas will be a tough one because The Lord blessed my sister with a beautiful baby girl, we are so thankful for her but knowing Gran never got to meet her is hard. God Bless everyone, stay safe & always keep your loved ones near🙏🏻❤💙
These all looked so yummy! I agree, we need to be careful about stressing about everything being perfect and just enjoy the true meaning of the season and the time with our families. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you so much for saying christmas is about the birth of Jesus christ you don't hear that much anymore and you don't hear much about family doing things together thank you so much I enjoyed this.❤
They turned out so nice. I never thought of just topping the rolo treat with another pretzel! Those have always been a favorite. Thanks for reminding me to think outside the box a little bit. I am adding pretzels and rolos to my grocery list! Talking about making these with your girls made me think back to sweet days that feel so long ago sometimes. When my son and his cousins were little I used to spread an old sheet on the living room floor and pop bowls of popcorn and fill another bowl with unsalted peanuts still in the shells, another with kix cereal and another with fresh cranberries. I would thread them each a darning needle with the rounded tips and we would string all the goodies and play Christmas movies in the background. I would have gingerbread dough chilling in the fridge and when we finished our strings of treats we hung them outside in our trees for birds and squirrels and occasionally a deer would come up and nibble on the strings of treats. Afterwards we rolled out the gingerbread dough and cut out cookies. They loved it and some of the kids now do this with their own kids. It was simple enough to do and the sheet kept the mess easy to just shake out off the back deck. We didn’t rush through it but just enjoyed being together. Thanks for reminding me of those times. Have a blessed week dear friend.
🥰💖🎄❤ Donna, I just love every bit of this! What a precious memory 😊 and how much fun that must have been for those boys. I am so glad that you shared this with me, it warmed my heart. God is good and He is really found in just these smallest acts that bond a family together ❤
Hi, Donna. I so enjoyed reading your long-ago memory with your son and nephews. It took me back to a simpler era in time and my mind's eye could see the memory unfold. I feel times like those have been lost in this day in age, and I was so happy to enjoy this one with you. I was expecting you to share that when they were done, you strung them on your Christmas tree, but what a happy thought that you then strung them outside for the birds and any other animals that stopped by for the treats. Thank you for sharing and taking me back in time.
@@CindyKinney thank you, I worried I had overshared but Mel made me think of our afternoons spent keeping the kids busy and I had hoped back then making memories. I’m glad it brought you some warm memories too. God Bless you.
Enjoying a cup of coffee and watching your video. I love the simplicity of these recipes. I will be making them for/with my family this year. Our three adult children have moved out on their own. Christmas time is the time that we get together for fun and food. I love your sweet message in this video. Absolutely! Jesus is the reason for the season! God Bless you!
Thank you so much Tammy. I know we don't have a lot of years left with our girls at home, but I still love doing these little things with them. Great memories and many more to come ❤
Amen Mel, I appreciate you sharing your faith with us. Your exactly right it's not about how much money we spend on gift etc...but celebrating the birth of our Savior. God Bless you all, Merry Christmas 🎄
My favorite was the graham crackers, brought tears to my eyes, the lesson behind such a pretty cookie is really what Christmas is about. Our Lord and Savior and stained glass chocolate cookies. My grand kids will have a ball with these!!
I’m watching this video for the first time even though it was created almost a year ago. For the chocolate covered graham cookies i would use a fork instead of spoon to put the melted icing stripes on it. The tines of the fork are perfectly suited to give you this effect. Aldo if you had a hot bowl of water you could continuously keep the icing tube soft and allow the contents to flow easier without having to put in microwave each time. Pioneer woman has a great recipe using pretzels , caramels , chocolate and pecans. Easy and yummy too
Thank you for talking while you made the treats. Even showing what didn't work out as planned. I feel you. But I'm a perfectionist and my husband not, and I have been working on that, even if it doesn't turn out the way I planned or expected, that it will still taste the same. And that spending the time with children and family is more important than to have everything perfect. Merry Christmas to you all! ❤
They all look so delicious! The chocolate graham crackers came out so beautiful in my opinion. They all look like they came from a gourmet bakery, Mel's bakery! Doesn't get any better than that. Yes we all need to remember the true meaning of Christmas. Jesus is the reason for us 365 days a year! Hope the snack foods you are making for Christmas brings you extra extra joy and happiness. Look forward to more quick and easy snack ideas. Love ya!
Thanks so much! 😊 I don't know about gourmet but I thought they ended up better than they started LOL. They DID taste great, I have taken snacks to lots of get togethers already so that's good that they are not all here in the house. LOL Love you friend
I needed the message at the end of the video more than you know. Your words struck a chord with me and I even got a little choked up there for a minute as I thought about the truth in what you said. Thank you for the reminder and God bless you and your family this Christmas.❤
Made the Rolo + Pretzel treats this past weekend...the sweet and salty is a good combo and the perfect size for holiday snacking. Plan on making the grahams ( hopefully ) soon but will use two graham crackers with marshmallow fluff in between and then cover in chocolate.
Love the idea with the pretzels and Rollos! 🥨 Gotta try that! One of my favorite treats is the thin mints! You just dip Ritz crackers into melted chocolate with peppermint extract. They taste just like the Girl Scout cookies! Have a very blessed Christmas!🎄
My family loves the chocolate dipped marshmallows and we’ve tried all kinds of flavors of marshmallows our favorite is the ones with toasted coconut on them. I usually put chocolate side down but love how these look chocolate side up with decorations, I will definitely be trying that this year!! Christmas blessings to you and your family!
Oh now I can't wait to try them with some other flavor marshmallows, thank YOU for that great idea! Hope you have a very Merry Christmas and thanks so much for watching

With the grahams, I’d suggest using melted chocolate chips. They melt lovely and you can spread them in thin lines. Honestly, tastes better than the icing too ❤️
Thanks so much for this tip, and it's funny I actually just picked up a bag of them at Aldi to try. I just always seem to have a bag of chocolate chips laying around....I can't wait to see the difference!

I don't see ANY of the "perfect little details" that we think we "have" to make happen. Things don't last but memories and how we make our family "feel" does ❤💖🥰
They all look so good!! FYI: something I saw on a Japanese you tube channel I follow: she was using ketchup but it would work for your larger tube of icing.. tie a plastic bag or ziplock baggie onto the end of it (using a bread tie) and poke a hole or holes with a toothpick! It’s a genius hack.. very smart.. you can make it the size you want and you have total control!!😂
I will try this next time for sure! I was just plum out of ideas to make it work LOL But after it was all said and done, they were the best tasting of all the treats we made. Thanks so much for watching friend
I loved these treats Mel! So easy to make and I agree with what you said when you were making the chocolate covered graham crackers. The Christmas season is about Jesus and getting to spend precious time with our families. Perfection can be overrated sometimes lol, but I must say those graham crackers looked really good in the end so sometimes things that might not be going right at first turns out pretty good in the end. God bless! 💕
Thanks so much! 😊 And I thought they looked really good after all too LOL AND they were the tastiest of them all, too Thanks so much for watching and I hope you have a great weekend friend
I felt like my heart was warming because the memories were pouring through my heart. My Husband has been gone for 18 years, my two girls have moved to another state, and I'm here alone, But as you talked all those wonderful memories were pouring through and tears of joy flooded my eyes. How good you made me feel, Thank you, Mel!
These are my kind of Christnas treats! Super easy! I’ve never thought to dip marshmallows and graham crackers in the almond bark before! We dip peanut butter crackers in it, so I think taking graham crackers and adding peanut butter to them to make a sandwich and dipping that in the bark would be delicious!! I’ll have to try to remember that for next year
Oh wow that would be wonderful 😍 I love the peanut butter and crackers dipped. But my oldest is allergic to peanuts and cashews 😭 so I usually don't do too many of them. Just a few for me and Patrick at the end of the tray of chocolate 😉 But grahams and peanut butter and chocolate 👏❤yes please
I love your attitude about everything being perfect and you are correct 100%. When we're with loved ones at this time of year that's the most important part and if something didn't turn out exactly like you wanted it to have a good laugh about it and enjoy eating it.
I like things that look homemade. The perfect artsy cookies etc... at the store look very beautiful but they never taste as good as the homemade stuff. Memories are an incomparable gift.
Thank you for sharing these! I'm making candy for our family this year for gifts and I want some variety. These look easy, cute and fun. Can't wait to make some of these.
Amen! Well said. Thank you for talking about the true meaning of Christmas and the reason we do the things we do. You are absolutely right, my friend. Christmas should be savored and enjoyed! I love celebrating and making memories with my sweet children and grandchildren, but that all pales in comparison to the true reason for the season, Jesus. It's all about Him! ❤❤❤

I will try this next time for sure! I was just plum out of ideas to make it work LOL But after it was all said and done, they were the best tasting of all the treats we made. Thanks so much for watching friend
What a sweet video. I so resonated with what you said about your kids just wanting to spend time with you making the treats. Thanks for the reminder.
🥰
I loved these treats Mel! So easy to make and I agree with what you said when you were making the chocolate covered graham crackers. The Christmas season is about Jesus and getting to spend precious time with our families. Perfection can be overrated sometimes lol, but I must say those graham crackers looked really good in the end so sometimes things that might not be going right at first turns out pretty good in the end. God bless! 💕
Thanks so much! 😊 And I thought they looked really good after all too LOL AND they were the tastiest of them all, too Thanks so much for watching and I hope you have a great weekend friend
❤ thank you so much for your help and for your time and telling about Jesus and being just happy with our family.
You're very welcome and thank YOU so much for watching and for your encouraging words. Merry Christmas 🌟 ❤️ 🎄
We always do m&ms on the rolo but another pretzel would be so good!! 😍
I love them prepared ANY way 🥰 Thanks for watching friend
I felt like my heart was warming because the memories were pouring through my heart. My Husband has been gone for 18 years, my two girls have moved to another state, and I'm here alone, But as you talked all those wonderful memories were pouring through and tears of joy flooded my eyes. How good you made me feel, Thank you, Mel!
❤️😭 oh my goodness, you made my heart warm too. Thank YOU!
You made me cry with your words about perfection and how it's ok to just let go and enjoy. Thank you and Merry Christmas!
We do this every year!! Yummy
So yummy 😋
I love your attitude about everything being perfect and you are correct 100%. When we're with loved ones at this time of year that's the most important part and if something didn't turn out exactly like you wanted it to have a good laugh about it and enjoy eating it.
🥰 yes,100% Life is too short to sweat the small stuff I aint it
Beautiful attitude about not stressing about things being perfect. Yay Jesus.
I like things that look homemade. The perfect artsy cookies etc... at the store look very beautiful but they never taste as good as the homemade stuff. Memories are an incomparable gift.
Love the treats and the great advice. Things don't have to be perfect, our kids just really do want to spend time with us. Thank you
Thank you for sharing these! I'm making candy for our family this year for gifts and I want some variety. These look easy, cute and fun. Can't wait to make some of these.
mama mel dipping half the pretzel in some of that colored chocolate with a few sprinkles would be gorgeous! thanks for the inspiration!
Amen! Well said. Thank you for talking about the true meaning of Christmas and the reason we do the things we do. And it is the perfect love with which we live not the perfection of what we do that is important. Praying the Christ Child bless you this Advent and Christmas. Gorgeous treats - I’ll be trying them!
For a white drizzle- melt up some white almond bark. Works perfectly
You are absolutely right, my friend. Christmas should be savored and enjoyed! I love celebrating and making memories with my sweet children and grandchildren, but that all pales in comparison to the true reason for the season, Jesus. It's all about Him! ❤❤❤
🥰 yes Cathy, our children need to know WHY we are doing all these festive activities and celebrating 🥰 I know your grands are enjoying doing all the fun Christmas things and getting the gospel with you this season. Thank you so much for watching and I pray you have a blessed week🥰
@@InTheKitchenWithMommaMel Yes ma'am, we try to stress His birthday and HIS message to all 5 of them. I hope your week is filled with joy and blessings!
I’ll make the marshmallow treats but will dab them into crushed peanuts instead of sprinkles! Yum!
Yes and Amen! Your treats look good, and yes Jesus is the true meaning of Christmas!🙏❤️😊🙏❤️😊
I don't have kids so I'll be making these alone. Thanks for sharing.
Great ideas. One hack that works for the drizzle is adding a little oil to the chocolate while warm.
Thank you for showing an honest kitchen. Wonderful video and encouragement!
Thank you for the reminder of Jesus!💕
Thank you for the reminder of what Christmas is about and for your sweet little treats I have one that we’ve done for years you probably have heard of it already but it’s Ritz crackers spread with peanut butter and or marshmallow cream and then dipped in chocolate with sprinkles on top they’re yummy!
YUM! I've never thought of using marshmallow cream instead of peanut butter - that's great!
We all need to slow down and remember why we really celebrate Christmas. In all honesty I like the splatter look of the icing.
