I like how all these are clips of him fighting 1 or 2 when in reality its like 8-20 minimum.

Takes me 3-4 hits with mistwalker to kill a non elite or even the “trash” ones.

I doubted this comment before playing myself. Landed on shore. Morgen, 10 voltures and 30 charred of all types and stars wait for me. 10 deaths just to make a portal there on the shore

@@yoboikamil525 That's mainly due to the spawners he mentioned in the video, they are all over the place and will cause the armies of enemies. I think the best way to handle your first journey to the Ashlands is to make your portal on one of the Grausten rocks or other structures in the water before coming ashore. Once ashore immediately locate any spawners you can and destroy them. Once all of the spawners in an area are destroyed there will be significantly less enemies around. Still more than what's standard in other biomes but still not super terrible.

Do not fight while in the trees, if a tree falls in the forest everyone hears it and comes to party.

I was doing well with the lightning atgeir, skill level is mid 60’s. Its spin attack is great at CC, even knocking back enemies. When I found myself getting surrounded by charred and vultures, whip out the atgeir and spin to win! lol.
Not so great against morgen and asksvin though, they break through my block too often and stagger me, so I’d rather use a shield and (pick 1 hand weapon) instead. Haven’t encountered a fallen Valkyrie yet, so can’t attest to how well anything handles them. Bows are great as well, I use spinesnap with frost arrows to slow enemies. You can 1 shot the lava blobs with a sneak attack, and bows do well against asksvins as well.
But, in the end, magic is the master of the Ashlands. Even with my magic skills in the 20’s-30’s, skeletons work well as decoys while I go to town with the frost staff or staff of fracturing. Always have your bubble up.
But, whatever setup I choose to run, progress is super slow. I’ve resorted to laying down campfires as I move inland, to try and prevent spawns in case I have to retreat. There’s so many drops though it’s like I’m always running back to my FOB to dump inventory, and by the time I return, enemies are back.
The devs weren’t kidding when they said “in the Ashlands, we wanted to take you to war…” every foot gained is a battle. Making it to shore fighting off vultures and serpents is a battle. Establishing a beachhead is a battle. Progressing inland, crossing lava, taming asksvin, putrid holes and Dverger outposts, it’s all a helluva fight. I like it.

great video wish I saw this before stepping into ashlands. i've found the morgan are also bad at turning if you get in really close to them especially after a parry just keep slowly rotating while pressed up against them only thing you have to pay attention to is if they do the jump and roll. Helpful tip I found if you have to melee fight the fallen valk jump attack with the sword it burns up stam but i find I miss a ton of swings because the hitbox on the feet/talons is soo small.

Nice Content 👍👍, volture is more annoying than deathsquito, they contribute a lot to my death more than deathsquito.... oh and being headbutted out of nowhere by askvin also really frustrating. staff of the wild help me a lot now, my combat strategy is run around the vine and everything is taken care of except the valkyrie 🤣🤣.

"In Mistlands gear" - but with Ashlands food and what looks like an Ashlands cloak. Also, you had no food in your inventory, so were you just popping out to fight specific enemies in a short period of time and then resetting? What level are your sword and hammer skills - you seem to be doing a lot more damage with the Mistwalker than I do.

I'm mostly just pissed at how OP everything is
the basic enemy is already enough a challenge in a 1v1, but you're fighting 30 AT ONCE

@@yoboikamil525 Upgrade your gear to the best-possible before you venture in. If you're going in a group, remember that enemies gain bonus HP & attack power based on the number of players logged into a server. I ran solo, so shit was, admittedly, easier individually than if I'd been with friends. On their own, no single charred hits as hard as a single seeker. They're not as dangerous, pound-for-pound, compared to Mistlands enemies, but there are a lot more of them.
It took some trial and error but I found that Mistwalker, Demolisher, the frost & protection staves, spinesnap, and a compliment of frost arrows were the way to go. I kept the protection bubble up at all times: even vs. a 2-star enemy, it guarantees a free parry, though the shield will break more often than not. I wore a carapace helm, feather cape, and eitr-weave coat and pants. Used salad, seeker aspic, and honey-glazed chicken. Kept fire barley wine and lingering stamina mead running on me at all times, had Bonemass' power, and a stack of minor eitr and major healing meads.
Used the frost staff to hose down groups and slow them when they came close: worked especially well for voltures, twitchers, and warriors. Would follow up with a ground-pound from Demolisher - anything that didn't die was knocked back. When enemies were thinned out enough I could reasonably combat a few 1v1, I switched to Mistwalker. Again, anytime my protection bubble burst, I dodged back and recast it. Sniped archers when I could afford to take a shot. Never ran or jumped excessively; most of my movement was a dodge roll or walking.
When shit calmed enough to chance it, a new workbench, stone cutter, shield gen, and portal went down. Immediately set about raising earth walls into a makesift bunker. That thwarted most enemies, and I took care to abscond, repair, and rest anytime I felt threatened, or night was about to fall: I'd already died nearly a dozen times in prior landing/beachhead attempts. Afterwards, seeking out and destroying spawners was priority, along with collecting needed materials. Anytime I could take the risk to build up my walls and push my ZoC outwards I did so, but terrain modifications, woodcutting, mining, and so on all attract enemies so it helps to be aware that anytime you choose to start something, you're going to be swarmed, and to be prepared for that.
      I wish you the best.

@@yoboikamil525 Solo, I could understand it's an issue, but I landed with a friend. I was the tank, he was the mage. I pulled them on myself and blocked while he got the with fire/frost. It kind of worked and we managed to advance a bit, found our first flametal island too..
Indeed, the difficulty is high, the basic charred warrior deals big damage.. if you can parry it's nice but he has many moves, some slower than others, which need to be learned
The Askvin is quite hard since his attacks are fast, it seems circling it is the way
The archers are a bit fast but they also die fast.
The small guys are quite annoying but doable.
Morgen is my bane for now.. I haven't learned to properly parry it..
The big valkyrie is also hard since I don't know the timing.. using the arbalest worked well..
      Voltures are easy.
Sure, if they all come at you, you don't have much of a chance. My friend shields us and we also alternate bonemass.. it's doable.
      GOod luck!
