    Some of the bags shown during the first part were fading in and out (maybe due to the screen?). They were ghost bags lol
    The recipe looks great! I don’t have any Korean restaurants near me that serve this so I’d have to make it at home.

      Hi 👋 Sorry to hear about the fading scene. My videos r filmed at 4K. Try selecting the feed, by clicking on the setting icon on the TH-cam screen.

    Thanks, I bought a 7 mixed grain bag from h-mart and I didn’t know what to do with it! 😂Do we also have to pre-soak the rice with beans for the rice cooker? I have a zojirushi rice cooker with a mixed rice mode.

      I have the same rice cooker as you, I put it on mixed rice mode

    • @ModernPepper
      @ModernPepper  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, as noted in the video, soak for 30 to 60 minutes for electric pressure cooker rice makers. For the cheaper electric rice makers (without built-in pressure cooker features), I would let it soak overnight first.

      @@ModernPepperI don’t have a pressure cooker. I have to cook on stove top. I bought the same at H Mart with beans. My 7 multi grain rice with beans been soaking for 6 hours. Does it need to still be soak over night or is 6 hours okay?

    • @ModernPepper
      @ModernPepper  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TigerlilyBaby That is totally up to you. For me, I would soak for 10-12 hrs, especially if I’m adding the beans.

      @@ModernPepper you’re the expert! Thats why I click on your video 🙏🏾💕 there wasn’t no instructions on the bag. Thank you! I will soak over night then 💕

    Do you soak rice & beans over night when using an electric rice cooker?

    • @ModernPepper
      @ModernPepper  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi 👋 As noted in the video, if ur electric rice cooking has the ‘mixed rice’ (built in pressure cooker) feature, then pre soak for 30 to 60 mins. If not, presoak for 10 -12 hrs

    What about an Instant Pot?

    • @ModernPepper
      @ModernPepper  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I never tried instant pot. Not sure if instant pot is ideal for cooking rice since the rice needs to start at high boiling temperature, then lowered to low temperature. I would use a heavy bottom pot and use the stove top

      Are you in the US? Everything I clicked on is available (I did not click on them all) Expensive though. I need to scout out a local Korean grocery store.

    • @ModernPepper
      @ModernPepper  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Ross👋 Sorry to hear that. Yes, these product links only work in US. BUT if u have access to Amazon, try copying and pasting the ingredient titles on ur Amazon search box. OR Google the nearest Korean market where u live.

      Hi 👋 Try just filling it up to ur middle knuckle first and see how the rice comes out for. Then adjust the water level accordingly on ur next rice cooking

    I don't understand, how can big beans cook same time as rice? Rice would be mush.

  • @fredkim01
    @fredkim01 ปีที่แล้ว

    Are you sure that's significantly healthier than plain white rice? Glycemic index shows 55 vs 64.. not so much better than most people would think.

    • @ModernPepper
      @ModernPepper  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Fred👋. I’m sure there are many scientific literatures on the nutritional breakdown of white rice grains, brown rice grains, barley rice grains, and beans.

    • @fredkim01
      @fredkim01 ปีที่แล้ว

      @ModernPepper don't mind me.. lol I am just trying to justify eating white rice over other less tasty multigrain rice.. 😅😅😅

    • @ModernPepper
      @ModernPepper  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@fredkim01 🤣🙌😂. This is why I have to mix in 50% white rice with the multi-grain rice mixture. Or else, my kids refuse to eat multi-grain rice.
      I just Googled it. I’m sure you can find more fun reads on its nutritional benefits.
