Glad you got a chance to review Virtue❤ located in Hyde Park, Chicago. Other worthy mentions that are black owned in Chicago (or near Chicago): Luella's Southern Kitchen (Ravenswood), Bureau Bar and Restaurant (South Loop), and The Park Supper Club. Good food, good experience!!❤
Personally I would politely ask him not to patron my establishment . Majority of the time he doesn’t like the food. I wouldn’t serve him , no his bar isn’t high if you pay attention he likes everything sweet and salty with herbs de Provence sprinkled in with a mist of fennel powder lol .
Honestly, I agree with you. I was rather disappointed when I first went to Virtue. I don't know if people just parrot what they hear, but I found the food to be just okay. Ain't nothing to write home and tell mama about.
Hi, parking is sparse but possible, depending on time and day. And keep in mind they open after 4pm. There are other bars and restaurants in walking distance that are worthy of trying out as well, same scale.

I think you're expecting the food to be better than yours and that's not easy to accomplish. Your bar is set high, so the chef has got to have phenomenal skills, like at Publican.
